But some other parts of Nigeria, including Britain and USA supported Obasanjo. Obasanjo did not even attend the presidential debate, a bad precedent which has now become a norm with all presidents of Nigeria. I still hold that belief till today that Olu Falae would have performed better if he was the president. No he wouldn’t. That’s how you all would have said Buhari would have been a good president had he never gotten elected. Tinubu would have been called a better president of he lost the election. Obasanjo was better than Olu Falae. |

It’s still on the first page how Tinubu plundered 63% of Nigerians into abject poverty. 63% of 200 million people is 126 million. India has about 77 million people living in poverty despite having almost 8X Nigeria’s population. We still manage to have almost 50M more people in poverty than the most populous country on earth. Education › Re: 40% Of Lecturers Now Sleep In Their Offices Over Housing Crisis – UNILAG Don by Sheuns(m): 9:51am On Mar 13 |
seunmsg: There is nothing wrong with education. The problem is the funding model for our universities. We have over 140 public universities in Nigeria where students don’t pay tuition fees and you guys expect lecturers to be paid salaries. Just this weekend, a post by a student complaining of N125k fees for school logistics went viral on social media.
We want the best of everything and we don’t want to pay for it. A standard private secondary school in Abuja charges nothing less than N1.5m in a year but somehow, we want to pay N20,000 per year for university education and we don’t want lecturers to sleep in offices. Okay now, make all of us dey play. Always making excuses for useless politicians. The politicians that pocket billions in salaries annually get their salaries from where? It’s time to pay teachers well now and suddenly the issue is from the tuition students pay. Do you know in China, the tuition fees are quite low and they have one of the best quality of education in the world? An average lecturer in China receives a Naira equivalent of 3.4M Naira monthly as salary. |

Why is it so difficult for governments both federal and states to build affordable housing or even new towns for the people?
FESTAC town was built from scratch by the military government in “79
All Jakande estates in Lagos was built by Alh Jankande in the space of 4 years.
Government owns all the lands in Nigeria, that alone removes the need to pay for land. Just take lands somewhere and build something affordable for the citizens.
We have truly heartless people as leaders in this country. |

Omoboricash: It is not a do or die affair. Let Elrufai answer the question put to him. He made statement on national tv that he tapped NSA phone . If you dont see it as a security threat, others see it as one. Malami stockpile fire arms and you want hi to be released. The way PBAT is going about his administration, do u think he cares about second time. Worse secenrio is to be a one term president. At least he has done his part. Let him be judged by his action while he was in power. He said he’ll answer all the questions in court. Why can’t the FG just take him to court? That’s the proper thing to do if a person is refusing to be interrogated. You take your evidences to court and let the court do the trials. When Tinubu was accused of mismanaging public funds after his tenure as governor, he was charged to court by the Jonathan administration in 2011 and wasn’t detained or harassed as it’s been done to others now. Just follow the rule of law. |

Politics › Re: Nigerian Industrial Court Orders Baruwa-led Executive To Take Over NURTW Abuja by Sheuns(m): 10:28pm On Mar 12 |
Wickedfact: No state in Nigeria has their transport system as organised as Lagos. None.
In most of the cities in your region, the last mile transport system has collapsed and has been handed over to tricycles and motorcycles.
Some of those NURTW guys you see are police informants. Without them, the state will be like Abuja where one-chance robbery has taken over. Or, the SE where Sienna drivers carry passengers in the mornings and UGM at night.
The NURTW is not perfect, can be made better, but they are not the ones dropping you from improving the transport systems in states outside Lagos. What’s organized in having okadas plying one ways even on expressways? Danfo buses using almost every stop on the roads as bus stops and parks? There’s nothing organized about public transportation in Lagos state as we have it now. The only times they were organized was during Fashola’s time and also Ambode’s. What we have now is anyhowness as when Tinubu was governor. |
