How irresponsible of a government to submit a bill to the House for passage and when the House made modifications and passed the bill, the federal government headed by Tinubu, changed some parts of the bill before the president signed it.

Did he really think not one of the over 400 members of the National Assembly will read the bill again?

There is a reason why our governments borrow. Most nigerians don't pay tax to federal coffers because poverty. As at 2016, about 16% of the taxable population was paying tax to the treasury. It's now about 30% (government says 44%).

Well, since most people don't want to pay tax because we are poor and because we cannot tax our way to prosperity (tax revenue is not used for prosperity, it's used for meeting government needs, etc)...may we continue to miss our revenue goals.

People will read this and say I am excusing government. LOL. If obi was in power, I would be saying the same thing. Tinubu is still not a good president, but my metrics for saying so are different.

Every industry or sector dependency on how flexible they can be differs and not based on individualism. Take for instance, there are a lot of times between Q1-Q3( i.e Jan-August) that those airlines will have to fuel their airplanes to fly even with just 20 or less than 50 passengers on board. An airline is not like bus terminal that they will wait until the bus is full before they embark on a journey. Once time their time on the tarmac is due, they either fly or cancel flight.. and considering it's the same quantity of fuel, the same fees, salaries, maintenance and mandatory regulatory charges they will use to fly less than 50 passengers is the same they will use to fly a fully booked flight, you can imagine what it must be like. And now that it's holiday season,they have the chance to recoup some of those looses to offset their balance sheet. Remember they are also in the business for profit and not public charity. They aren't actually forcing everyone to fly, it simply means during festivities period, this what we are charging, not because they are greedy but they also have been cutting looses for the past 8-9months.

1. South Korea was run by very corrupt leaders until 1961 when Park took over. And Park was an autocrat...who for once realized that South Korea was a poor resource limited country, so he essentially did the above.

That is where our problem lies...we haven't woken up to the fact that we have limited resources...instead we sell the resources, and share the money, which fosters the divisiveness..including in the leadership, that you allude to.
