If Obi had left PDP and formed LP, this wouldn't have been defection. But Obi defected to LP that was formed and ran by others to enjoy the benefits in LP which he couldn't get in PDP. Are you ok?

You need to know that presently, most public primary schools in Ondo State are not in good conditions. Most parents don't even enrol their kids in public primary schools again, except the few mega schools built by Mimiko.

It’s sad. Our politicians have over the decades purposefully crippled public education systems that they are far from what they used to be when they were younger.

The effects are what we are seeing now, mass failures, students not interested in learning etc.

They know if they invest a lot in education, they would have less sycophants to sing their praises and cheer them on when they build a few kilometers of roads and tag them “projects”.

Why are you narrowing the scope to just Nigeria?

Can you show the Press Council Law that states what you mentioned above? I’m pretty sure there are several journalists in this same Nigeria in big corporations that did not study journalism.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga’s profile reads that he studied mass communication and he is referred to as a journalist.

Is journalism only practiced in Nigeria? Just do a simple research and find out that you do not need to go to school to study journalism before you can become a journalist. What you require are skill sets.

I’m talking on a broader view and not limiting the scope to Nigeria.

My wife works in one of the big 3 banks in Nigeria and she never for once mentioned them going to a “training school”.

Tinubu left AD almost at the end on his tenure alongside disgruntled AD members including Bisi Akande when they had leadership tussles and formed AC which metamorphosed into ACN.

AD exists to this day and has its national chairman.

You should be dealing with the seller and not asking the buyer for extra fees. If it were a buyer that asked you to search for a vehicle for him, you then may charge service fee.

What is defection? It is desertion of one's country or cause (or party, in this case) in favour of an opposing (existing) one.

Tinubu has not defected to another existing party since 1999.

He was with the Alliance for Democracy (AD) from 1999 to 2007, helped form the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2006, and was key in merging parties to create the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2013. And the moment APC was formed, ACN (just like CPC) became defunct.

These transitions were due to party formations and mergers, not traditional defections. The sequence AD to ACN to APC is accurate but reflects new party creations rather than joining existing.

He left AD when there was leadership tussle between Bisi Akande and Moji Akinfenwa. Bisi Akande, Tinubu and others that left went on to form AC which later changed to ACN.
ACN merged with CPC and others to birth APC.

There has been this talk going around for a while now about a particular anchor or on air personality on a popular TV channel in Nigeria.

To become a journalist, one does not necessarily have to study journalism in college, what is required to become a journalist according to google and some websites include but not limited to:

2. Interviewing skills
3. Attention to details
4. Research skills
5. Editing and proofreading skills
6. Photography skills
7. Web publishing skills.

While some establishments may require applicants to possess a degree in journalism before employing them as journalists, if applicants have these skills listed above and shows some level of experience in journalism, he is qualified for the job of a journalist.

We have renowned journalists that did not study journalism or any related course in college and are world respected journalists.

We have different people working in fields they never studied in college and are excellent at what they do, that doesn’t make them less professional than those who studied the proper courses.

Skills are what set us apart, not necessarily course of study.
