The reason shell is selling off their refineries is the high cost of running them. That's why countries like india, china with low cost of labour and the required technological know how are the once delving into it. Whereas, in Nigeria, they get too much profits from exploration and production already. |

Beaf:beaf, u are irredeemable. |
htajz:OBJ weakened the north's grip of the Nigerian army by introducing qouta system in case you don't know. If care is not taken with the way SS and GEJ are going the SS will better off under Obj than under Gej's govt. |
I find his excuse very funny. While other countries were busy investing in refineries, our past govt were secretly cripling our own and building their own personal refineries. His excuse here also goes to show that the Gej Govt didn't inquire from the oil companies directly before coming out to tell Nigerians that low cost of petroleum product is the main reason for investors not building refinies in the country. The reason companies like shell will not build refineries is the profit they get from oil exploration and production. With the 43%:57% sharing formula they are into with the Nigerian govt, they make far too much profit, and will never be interested in refining crude oil in Nigeria. We really need to re-negotiate so many things in Nigeria. |
Who is huhuonline? |
Long article. By the time i finished reading it, all the parts i wanted to comment on were gone. Lots of repitition in it though, OP shld correct them. |
ACM10:Was he also a colonel in his Biafran army? |
Some thread arrive NL dead. This is one of such. AWO can't be easily described by one word. The best word i av 4 him however is 'Vision'. The man had a solid vision for every single Nigerian. |
Hello fellow NLders, pls i need a free software or plugin for MS word .doc file that can help convert .doc file to picture. I would appreciate it most if the software can watermark as well. Thanks. |
Elombar and his NL brethren shld be warned. Arse-licking is one hell of a effed-up job. |
ACM10:Are u equating Yoruba civilians to an igbo general? Ojukwu was just an educated historian who rose too fast to become an army General. The guy is a real mama's boy. Ojukwu could have employed his Aburi skill and instinct to negotiate his people out of being massacred continually, but . . . . |

As far as i am concerned his image is irreversibly damaged. The 13% derivation link to BH and statement about the 'govt subsidizing consumption of the masses' during subsidy debate has proven that the man is an eloquent and empty person. |
empty and eloquent |
It could be that the man in question got an easy lift from the real suicide bomber who i believe will do everything possible to beat the church security. Initial report says he was trying to escape from the car just b4 the bomb went off. |
Some Nigerians believe they are smatter than others and when they see that the odds don't favour them then they call for a united "southern Nigeria" lol . Why should all three groups who make up this "mythical" southern Nigeria share the same amount when one out of the three regions don't contribute anything ? LOL don't think the south south folks are dumb . They wouldn't fall for this and i don't have to tell you where the south east stands on issues such as this , i believe you already know
when i said 'part of the south' i mean to say the various divisions in the south like sw,ss, and se as well as the states in these zone i.e. osun state gets 13% of her contribution alone and not of delta's 13%. Pls read my comment and comprehend it very well. |
I thought the SEners are rich people with lowest poverty rate. Why are they the most aggresive set here. 25k to 55k. What would av happened if it was increased to 250k like it was in LASU. |
If this same thing had happened in Onitsha or Warri, the 'suspected' OPC member will be aptly reported as an area boy. There is no news in this as far as i am concerned. |
Firstly, aren't the militant being trained in the amnesty programs suppose to be going through technical training? How does someone with no solid eduational background keep a top administrative job in head office of an oil company? Secondly, most of these company used to be in warri and other ND cities but started leaving for Abuja and lagos when tribal groups in conflict within the ND started targeting them. I keep saying it the ND are the No.1 PARASITES. They depend on these oil companies for most of their schools, healthcare, water, roads and jobs. They forget that these companies are normal private companies working for the Government and their government at all levels should be responsible for their welfare. They now practically live on these oil companies. |
belovedaja:how come the igbo reps went to jonathan to promise him their support against subsidy protest? The igbos don't seem to be Gej's plan for now. |
naijaking1:to the bold, i say NO. We can't keep giving out huge allocation to a region that has perfected the art of mismanaging their allocation while using underdevelopement ( a result of this mismanagement) as excuse to request for more funds. It is time to develope the south also, afterall we r still in one Nigeria. |
Ok, silly northern leaders if that suits you. These Abokis are so damn clueless, shouldn't they be happy that the SS agreed to share anything in the first place? Silly Oliver Twist dem dem.
Mr. Yeske, Point of correction pls: the SS neva agree to share nada with anyone. The oil producing regions were effectively slice into two before and during the war and one oil-region used to conquer the other. The SS av no 'political muscle of their own' and av to resort to this hide and seek method of eating their own cake. Those who shld be ashamed here are the southerner. Every region in Nigeria has during one time in our history as Nigeria benefitted from other region. The way forward will now depend on how do we check the north from maneuvering the constitution always and start making our impact felt. In the article of OP, the north is divided into three but they appear to be speaking with one voice without mentioning any names. How did they manage to unite and and split the south so effectively? They are united because they can afford to do away with the little differences they have and consolidate on their commön denominator. The ultimate goal for every southern Nigeria group shld be how to unite and av a say in the 'real affairs of the country that dictates every other affairs': the constitution. |
Hmm . . . |
If i was in beaf's shoe here, then i will accept the offer. Under musiwa's proposal, all the southern region of Nigeria will be united by the 13% of their contribution. The North will get their own 13% also, but don't get me wrong, since most part of the south feel they contribute more than they get, this could be the unifying force for a southern Nigeria voice. When u factor in the resource that has been discovered in the south and the fact that most southerners share this belief, then i see the southern Nigeria coming out with one voice soon. I think this idea will help advance the struggle for greater control resource. Except some of our southern brothers have something sinister in stock for us, i see no reason why any southerner should be opposed to such a proposal. |
Is that the same Osun state where i served? Cut that crap mate. Born and bred in Lag, undergrad in_ Unilorin and now in Onitsha. Been there, seen it all. SW is monocentric unlike the east and even the north that are multicentric unlike other regions. The SW believes in Lag alone but poverty is prevalent in the SW so no whining here abeg. Fact is most Westerners hadn't moved outside their region to appreciate this fact but my SW friends here know that without Lag, SW is dead.
Ur attack on The SW is lame. U just hopped from lagos to ilorin like that or what are u say. Any maga who claims to av been to ilorin from lagos and did not notice Ogbomosho, Ibadan, iwo, and other main town accros the SW is seriously deluding him or herself. |
In what format does it come in. I am sourcing it on behalf too but i want know it format: scanned/pdf/doc/hard copy? |
