covid-19 fourth case has been recorded in Lagos State today

An 85-year-old woman, Victoria Ilione, has reportedly committed suicide in Anambra State.
The incident, was reported to have, happened at Awada, near Onitsha, in the Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
The octogenarian, it was learnt, jumped to her death from the third floor of a four-storey building.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
Mohammed said, “Around 5.20pm on Tuesday, there was a distress call to the Awada Police Station that one Victoria Ilione, aged about 85, allegedly jumped to her death from the balcony of an apartment on the third floor of a four-storey building, where she stayed with her daughter at No. 18 Ilodibe Street, Awada.
“The octogenarian was reported to be having some mental challenges and had her movement restricted. She was at home with her caregiver, one Judith Amumuche, 32, at the time of the alleged incident.
“However, before the arrival of the police at the scene, one Benedicta Ikediaso of 3-3 Housing Estate, Onitsha, who is said to be the victim’s daughter, reportedly took the corpse away to an unknown destination, but blood stains were seen at the scene.
“The caregiver and other witnesses at the scene are helping the police to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
The PPRO said the Commissioner of Police in the state, John Abang, enjoined members of the public, especially those taking care of the aged, to be extra careful when handling them in order to avert similar ugly incidents.

The Commissioner of Police in Plateau state, Mr Isaac Akinmoyede on March 18 disclosed that its command made an arrest of two middle-aged men over an alleged rape.
Speaking in Jos on Wednesday, the CP revealed that the two men, 27 and 20 years of age respectively were nabbed on two separate rape cases in the state.It was reported that one of the suspects was arrested for allegedly having carnal knowledge of his daughter on March 8 towards the update on the arrest, Akinmoyede said, “A case of defilement was reported at Laranto Police Division by one Shaibu of Shagari Corner in Jos North Local Government Area, against one Isah Abudullahi living behind Islamic School at Bauchi Road, aged 27, who defiled his daughter, aged six.”
“Similarly, on March 13 at about 11 am, a woman reported to the police that she discovered that her granddaughter, who is four years old was defiled by one Isaac Boniface (20), living in the same compound,”
According to the CP, the two culprits have confessed to the crime and are currently under investigation by detectives adding that they would be charged to court.He added, “the six-year-old that was defiled by her father and the four-year-old who was defiled by a neighbour have both been taken to the hospital for medical examination.”

The Sokoto zonal office of the economic and financial crimes (EFCC) has arrested a father and his two sons over alleged N4.6m fraud.
According to information made available to newsmen, the father, his children and others were arrested on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
They are identified as Yakubu Ibrahim (a.k.a. Baban Abba), Suleman Yakubu and Ibrahim Yakubu. Also arrested was a friend, Kasimu Muhammad.The anti-graft agency accused them of obtaining the money by false pretence.
“The EFCC, Sokoto Zonal Office on March 17, 2020 arrested one Yakubu Ibrahim (a.k.a. Baban Abba), his two sons, Suleman Yakubu, Ibrahim Yakubu and a friend, Kasimu Muhammad at Gidan Dare.”
“Shiyar Gidan Sanda area of Sokoto for alleged offences of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N4,660,000 (Four Million, Six Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira) only,” says by the EFCC.

Reporting the new charge against the duo, the lead prosecutor in the case, Osmar Legal said that he is investigating the connection between the two brothers and Dalia Lopez.
“Lopez, who is a businesswoman, arranged their visit and who met them on arrival at the airport in Asuncion before they were detained,” said Osmar
He added, “She could be involved in a money-laundering scheme and that means we have to investigate all the other people that were related to that kind of crime, including Ronaldinho”.
“That is why we strictly maintain that he be kept in jail.
“Our principal hypothesis is that they produced false documents, that they used those documents [to enter Paraguay] and that they were eventually going to be used for some commercial means or investments that were not legal.”

Mamora noted that the medical doctor died in Canada while speaking with newsmen during a briefing in Abuja on Monday.He says “We must be conscious of not being complacent, the price to pay for complacency is huge. I have heard people say that the black man’s gene is resistant and so COVID-19 is not for us.He also added that we shouldn't forget, some black men even from Africa, even from Nigeria have died. unfortunately. We heard the story of one doctor who lived in Italy, a Nigerian, a black man.”
“So we should not get carried away. There are a lot of things known about COVID-19 and there are still things unknown. We have to be very careful about believing claims that are yet to be fully validated.”
