I know of a family who turned CBN to their family business. From the father to all the children, to uncles, aunts, and now some of the grandchildren, they are all in CBN regardless of their degree or course of study. They graduate, serve and join CBN. I heard the older ones are affected in the previous batch that got fired.

This is very common in CBN, NNPC and some federal ministries. The ones that taya me patapata na Customs and Immigration. They just packed everywhere with a bunch of clowns.

To those slamming Nigeria, you have your reasons for your orientation but let's beware of tales by moonlight. Here is a recent example with another Chinese national in Nigeria:

While governors approval is needed for enforcement of a death sentence and they hardly sanction it, the process has shown that this is hardly a case of kill and go. No matter how rich you are, it is when you commit crime that you will understand how law enforcement works in Nigeria. I have seen this several times beyond the typical sentiment.

Even though I had spent two years in Ondo State as a child, it was when I arrived in Lagos during my post-university National Youth Service Corps scheme that I was mature enough to study the way of life of the Yoruba people.

When I get into a new environment, I study the way of life of the residents, in order to understand how and why they do things. Whatever I consider admirable, I copy it. Whatever I don’t consider special, I don’t copy.

This is the responsibility of everyone and it is taught from the home and beaten into your ears in most Yoruba families. If you're outside Yorubaland, the counsel of your parents and family will be ringing like a bell in your ears so you constantly remember that they are waiting for you at home.

You just want to mind your business and appreciate your host. We are very very careful not to get involved in the local politics of our hosts outside our region in the country. There's a reason why. Our progressive approach to politics and governance is completely different so there's no point getting involved in the politics of your host who are not familiar with your kind of progressive politics. If you want to do politics, come back home to your Yorubaland and do your politics.

I'm sure the pumping machine/water supply is factored into the rent of the property. Part of that payment is to maintain the property. You have the receipt of purchase, you own it, you fix it. The landlord has a responsibility to keep some of the rental income for property maintenance.

If for any reason you expect tenants to pay for this, you don't leave it open to debate. Add a document to the rental agreement clearly stating the conditions and expectations. Do not assume automatic exception to your responsibility to repair what you own.

If the landlord lives in the same house they should all contribute. If the landlord refuses to contribute, they should all stay without water. Some landlords cheat their tenants by making them fix the damaged things in the building. Tenants can also repair and deduct the cost when they pay the next rent.

If the landlord does not live in the same house, the tenants can either repair it or stay without water. That’s their business. There are uncountable tenants out there who are very wicked minded. They never want to fix things when they are damaged. They want the landlord to fix the pumping machine, which they operate and damage sometimes out of their own carelessness. Landlord no go kill himself.

In other words, nobody get monopoly of vawulence.
