WebmastersRe: Pls Help Out :i Want My Site To Be In Facebook by shilling(f): 9:00am On Jun 05, 2010
I don't think you can have your site linked to Facebook, like having a backlink or something.

You certainly can open a page, start a group or advertise on FB.
WebmastersRe: Choosing A Name For Your Website-enough Of Naija This And That by shilling(f): 8:59am On Jun 05, 2010
I'm also tired of the Naija names.

I guess a basic rule is that a name should be catchy, not too long and not boring.
WebmastersRe: Please Review My Blog by shilling(f): 8:55am On Jun 05, 2010
Load time isn't bad. . . could be faster.

Ad layout is typical, so there's not much to review there.
CelebritiesRe: Nigerian Celebrities Need To Hit The Gym by shilling(f): 8:44am On Jun 05, 2010
Oh yeah, they really need to hit the gym. This could inspire other Nigerians to work out - nothing complicated, sit ups, pilates, yoga, the works.

debosky:
We don't need gyms in naija - just locate the closest construction site and go help them carry cement, sand and mix concrete for an hour daily and you'll be FIT.

If that fails, take out an hour daily to sell goods in traffic jams - by the time you chase cars for your money a few times, iyou'll get a better than any treadmill in the world can give you. tongue
Wow, welcome back?!

I'm not into NL gist, but why did he quit being a super mod? He was the best mod on NL.
CultureRe: What Is Your Take On Homosexualism? by shilling(f): 8:35am On Jun 05, 2010
Well, one led to the other . . . gay marriage didn't just come out of nowhere.
CultureRe: What Is Your Take On Homosexualism? by shilling(f): 8:30am On Jun 05, 2010
bawomolo:
its fine if u consider it repulsive but do u think it should be legislated against.
Definitely not. I also don't want it to be legislated for. I cant imagine living in a city where gay marriage is legal. Although I think it's wrong, I want it to be seen as any of the other vices in the world - we have theft, murder, etc.

Homosexuality is real, whether I approve of it or not - I have to live with it. But, I don't to continuously hear about pro-gay marriage groups, or anti-gay marriage people. The 2 are a nuisance.

CareerRe: My Boss Hates Me Because I Bought A Car by shilling(f): 8:20am On Jun 05, 2010
I don't suggest resigning till you have another job. . .

Start looking for one, and keep researching starting your own business.
FamilyRe: My Wedding Date Is Fixed, But I Have Just N100,000. by shilling(f): 10:29pm On Jun 04, 2010
leadteam:
You can do the wedding on a low scheme (your immediate family, your close pals, your in laws and may be two others). Not more than 20 people.
Get a photographer and a friend to borrow u camcorder+digital camera
25k for the registry
20k for the ring
15k for the food and drink (20people* 750)
5k to Rent a wedding gown.
12k for your suit.
3k to rent chairs+table
5k for the officiating ministers
10k for the traditional
5k for other miscellaneous
Get a car from a friend or relative

Wedding is just a single day thing. Marriage is d koko.
Wish u happy married life in advance.
I don't know how much things cost in Nigeria but that sounds reasonable.

I hope the groom is saving most of his money cos he'll need something to live on after his marriage.
PoliticsRe: Al Gore And Tipper Gore To Separate After 40 Years by shilling(f): 10:27pm On Jun 04, 2010
This is scary stuff . . . after 40 years + of being together. This is crazy, it will be so difficult for them to live apart. Anyways, I'm not in their shoes, I don't know how it hurts.
PoliticsRe: Some Of Nigerian Police Now Use Two Guns At A Time Reasons Still Unknown? by shilling(f): 9:56pm On Jun 04, 2010
Holding 2 guns like that . . . completely ridiculous., only in Naija.
RomanceRe: Ladies: Would You Kneel Down For Your Partner? by shilling(f): 9:55pm On Jun 04, 2010
I only will if I've done seriously wrong and I'm seriously begging (just for the added dramatics lol).
CultureRe: What Is Your Take On Homosexualism? by shilling(f): 9:53pm On Jun 04, 2010
This should have been made a poll.

Anyways, the concept of homosexuality is repulsive to say the least. . . ewww.
TravelRe: Going To Nigeria For The First Time? by shilling(f): 9:46pm On Jun 04, 2010
My friend and I were talking about this a few days ago.

She's also originally from Benin but she's as scared as hell to go back. All she thinks about is all the horror stories of kidnapping and murder. My brother's friend lost his dad last year when he went to Benin in a car accident. Anything crazy could happen anywhere not just in Naija - it's God that protects.

One thing I've never heard is being afraid of family. How can you be afraid of your own family - are they that evil?!!

Anyways, I hope I never feel the way you do. The chances are quite slim anyways lol. I'm in Nigeria almost every year. I can't speak pidgin (I can write it, weird lol) and I totally disagree with some dumb comment saying "don't fake your accent". If you haven't been in Nigeria for a while, you definitely can't talk like a Nigerian. I know some people fake it, but u definitely would sound different esp if you're younger. I've experienced the weird looks people give in Nigeria when you sound "different".

Just talk how you usually do. I can't fake a Nigerian accent, I've tried and I sounded stupid.
TravelRe: Help Needed On U.s Citizenship by shilling(f): 9:16pm On Jun 04, 2010
I won't say you should go back to school cos I don't know why you left in the first place. I know so many Nigerian students in my uni that quit not cos they wanted to, but cos they couldn't afford it.

So, either u marry an American woman by pretending that you love her - that is seriously wrong imo. I know some people pay a woman to marry them and then apply for perm. res and then divorce. Many African American women do that, but they usually charge like crazy. Those are your only 2 options.

For some reason, I'm guessing you're in Utah, Maryland, Denver, lol. I know so many who have joined their "brothers" there wink

I've always liked this Tunde's demeanor. Congrats to him. smiley
lol . . . oh my gosh - gurl don't hate. He's still fine.

Tunde's face looks kinda odd to me.

I know that's an old picture, can't put it to words but his face is super triangular. . . but he looks waaay better cos he's gained some pounds.

FamilyRe: Should A Guy Propose Before We Introduce Him To Mum & Dad? by shilling(f): 8:19am On Jun 03, 2010
It'll be kinda weird for the dude to propose first then I take him to my parent's house "Hey folks, so this is who I'm marrying" or something like that.

Like I said, if I think he's pretty serious, then I have to take him over to mum & dad to analyze him and give me their opinion (very valuable) before I even start considering marrying him. . . but that's just me.

d bigrod:
YEP
By the way, what kind of name is that? Where did that come from lol.

TravelRe: Is Botswana A Visa Free To Canada by shilling(f): 8:13am On Jun 03, 2010
MrPrsdent:
2. Those of you saying Botswana is poor are wrong.Their GDP is in the top 3 in Africa and their currency is the continents strongest.
3.The only African country that can afford free tertiary education for its citizens anywhere in the world
Their GDP is actually pretty low, you meant GDP per capita - which is ridiculously high. Yeah, and free education is awesome (although you pay back some of it if your major isn't science related).

MrPrsdent:
6. Acquiring Botswana citizenship by marriage takes 10 years and you must speak Motswana
Setswana.

Yeah, and even if you're given a Botswana passport, once you're over the age of 21, you have to renounce one cos they don't allow multiple citizenship which is pretty odd.

I completely agree with you - it's not worth it!! I'd rather be Nigerian than Motswana.
CelebritiesRe: Which Nigerian Actress Is Good The Most In Crying On Set? by shilling(f): 8:06am On Jun 03, 2010

TravelRe: Is Botswana A Visa Free To Canada by shilling(f): 5:52am On Jun 02, 2010
justwise:
They will start buying Botswana pasport now, b4 you know it, the canadian govt will remove Botswana from visa free list.
That's been happening for years now. Bots is full of Nigerians, Ghanaians, and mostly Zimbabweans married to Batswana. Thing is, with Bots - u can't have multiple citizenship. When you become 21, you have to choose 1, and that sucks!!

But, for anyone who's interested, Motswana women think Naija guys are hot lol. So, it should be relatively easy to marry one of them  cheesy wink

dancewith:
The reason is simple. Botswana is a country of less than 2 million people. About 1,990,000 to be exact. This is less than anyy state in Nigeria
In contrast, South Africa is 49.3 million people. So it possibly is a question of risk. Should the entire Botswana people chose to immigrate to canada (an extremely unlikely scenario), the impact might not really be much compared to south africa
Batswana are waaay less than that . . . they counted "foreigners" lol. Botswana - more cows than people, omg.

TV/MoviesRe: What Movie(s) Do You Never Get Tired Of Watching by shilling(f): 5:44am On Jun 02, 2010
I hardly ever watch movies twice . . . I just cant do it.

But, I'll have to say Titanic, although I prob watched it last when I was 12 - I still loved it. The Little Rascals, watched it as a kid, and still watch clips on Youtube once in a blue moon, I still find those kids funny.

Deep Soul:

7) Father of the Bride
My mum never gets tired of that one.

For zi series:

Wouldn't introduce him to mum & dad until I know how serious he is, and we've definitely been dating for a while. He doesn't need to propose first . . .
