Rainess:lol...I do not get it. I look at his finger nails and they're quite short. I'm like dude there's nothing left to bite lol. |
Op should ask some serious questions and provide Nairaland with follow up info. Money wise, N75know isnothing. To put things in perspective, even if op was doing some crappy minimum wage job fulltime, he'll make around $1280 and have a better standard of living. |
telexfree1:What is ordinary about Canada? Immigrants have it much easier in Canada than the US. |
The bf bites his nails. Its the most annoying sound ever. I literally cringe everytime. |
Hi, I'm not trying to get it issued by proxy. I need to get approval from NIS Abuja to get a damaged passport reissued in Canada. |
Anyone at all? |
Hello Nairaland, Does anyone happen to have a number for the Nigerian immigration service? I lost my passport and need approval from Abuja to have a new one issued. The Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa has said this authorization is difficult to get so they want people to go to Nigeria to get it directly. If there's someone to contact in Abuja to issue this letter, it would be greatly appreciated. The number on their website +23497806771 isn't working. Can this be on the front page? This will save a lot of Nairalanders the time and money of having to travel to Abuja from Canada/Us/Australia. |
Also, Tochi, I'll send you an email with suggestions on how to establish help for folks you take pictures of. |
Thank you Tochi for your Lagos spin of HONY. The stories are beyond moving, and show the strength and resilience of Nigerians. |
This is so odd. Who asks to pay a refundable registration fee before you even show up on campus. To make matters worse, you have a scholarship too! Goodluck though . . . I wouldn't hold my breath. |
She's the cutest kid. |
jojcanada:I have a few friends who study/work at York and have had great luck finding apartments downtown and around Bathurst and Sheppard. A friend is sharing a spacious 2 bedroom apartment and is paying around $900. There are many good apartments, you just have to keep looking multiple times a day. |
I didn't follow your previous comments, but in what cities are you looking for accommodation? I have a pretty good personal track record of finding great apartments for pretty cheap. My go-to websites are craiglist and the used..... (insert cityname).com e.g. usedcalgary.com, usedtoronto.com. I check those websites every hour or so and contact landlords immediately to arrange a viewing. Obviously, don't share any personal information with whoever posts the ad. Hope that helps. jojcanada: |
You've gotten a lot of good advice here. I would say the most important thing is time and patience. Stop using so many products at the same time. Focus on a few key products like 5mins said, I also suggest dudu osun, vaseline and shea butter. Don't forget daily sun exposure. Maybe instead of all of a sudden exposing your arms, try rolling up your sleeves a little at a time so people around you are aware of your skin discoloration. Don't forget to document your experiences in pictures, etc. Share your experience online so people know the dangers of skin bleaching. Good luck. |
This is a very good point. Brown rice takes forever to cook, pretty much looks and tastes like crap, yet it is popular worldwide. Nigerians need to get over our neocolonial imperial mentality and realize that often times there is nothing wrong with locally made products. agabaI23: |
People are claiming it's not dirty... I guess it's normal to have random items on the escalator. |
The Obama picture is excellent! |
Onegai: Clinique is a pretty good line. I especially love their lipsticks which look like gloss and are creamy.I'm all about MAC & Clinique. Haven't heard of Zaron or Black Up, but I checked out the Black Up website. Any particular products you recommend? Interesting that their products are same or more expensive than MAC. |
itgirl282: sunscreenYes! Clinique sells SPF 50 sunscreen. |
OP, judging by your profile, this girl has already had previous abortions? Isn't that a red flag? |
Hmmmm...why did she wait for 2 weeks though? Very odd. I hate pranks in general, but the more "normal" thing to do would be to tell you before you travelled, and not wait for 2 weeks! Anyways, if you trust her, go with your gut feeling and continue the relationship. |
Hilarious! So glad the Naija Boyz are back! |
I have a lenovo g505 and I have no complaints. It was recommended by my brother who's a tech person. I'm in uni and take it to school everyday, but only use it for basic things (nothing fancy like gaming, etc). It's pretty light too. |
"sand paper"? bros u funny oo, now i know u'v truely traveled around the globe. anyway its not sand paper, it's called abrasive paper....
It's called sand paper. With different grit levels for sanding furniture, etc. |
How can someone who is modest and shy still be over critical and harsh at the same time ![]() Na real waAnd yea, my friend is a Virgo...and besides being intelligent and analytical, the rest are so false about him [/quoteThe thing about zodiac traits is that they don't apply to EVERY SINGLE PERSON across the board. My friend is a Virgo and definitely exhibits these traits. |
BlueRoyale: Yes oct 23rd cusp thingy is 100% true coz I have broda that was born on this date, and to be factual he has the traits of both Libra and Scorpio in his blood! And I really love both signs. He is such a lucky dude to be born in btw such powerful zodiac star.Yeah, one of my best friends is on the cusp and exhibits both Libra and Scorpio traits. |
Definitely untrue. There are all sorts of homeless people in North America. You cannot tell if they are homeless or street performers by one picture alone. Ikengawo: The guys are homeless. They're not street hustlers. This is how homeless people in America and canada look dress and make their money. |
It's not a valid point because people like Okonjo-Iweala and Ezekwesili were not public figures prior to marriage. They've both been married for over 2 decades while Adichie got married after becoming a renown author. Chinom: I love Chi girl a lot, but this guy does have a point here. Okonjo is actually Ngozi's father's name. Her husband is Mr. Iweala. Chimamanda could do the same. The world would still recognize her. |
