hi born2lead, so you mean with much persuasion i can get a seller to ship out goods at 16$/kg on alibaba with dhl born2lead01: Good day and happy new week to all. Kudos to ALL that have contributed to this forum and may God reward you bountifully. I will like to share my experience so far with you guys.
I ran into this forum early May and i took time to read from season 1 to 2 and then placed my first order on aliexpress. When i got the item thru Singapore post(12 days after shipment),my best friend saw it and insisted i must sell it for her so i sold it for her and made 300% gain(although i have since compensated her with other items because i felt bad for doing that) Ever since then, most of my orders are usually thru Singaporepost with average of 11days and i do pay custom dues(though minimal#500-#100 because i buy in bulk) with receipt issued.
On procurement,i prefer Alibaba to aliexpress because the prices are too cheap. Moreso,i look at so many things before buying from a seller. I make sure that the company i'm buying from have the necessary CERTIFICATION that conform with European standards and doesn't use child labour among other things.
If i need a single item from a seller on Alibaba,i simply tell him/her that i need up to 2 times the MOQ then i start asking series of questions about the product . The seller will then BEG me to buy a sample or two and see for myself before placing the order and most time i do go back to buy their MOQ. On shipment,DHL do charge me average of $16/kg(i think it depends on your negotiation with the seller) and i receive my goods 5th days after shipment(i live outside Lagos) but i think CHRISVICMALL is still the best (they charge $8/kg for normal shipping) aside their lack of effective communication. Always try to call and chat with them through WECHAT as those are the two ways to 'easily' get to them if you're buying thru them. The best way is to buy your goods and send it to them for shipment else be ready to sweat (lol) if you're procuring thru them.
Valuehandlers is another promising shipping company with $7.5/kg for their normal shipping (7 days) to Lagos(I haven't try them that was the price sent to me when i mailed them).
Advice for the newbies (like me). Don't be too lazy and come here to ask silly questions(like will i write my father's name when i want to pay on aliexpress),read from season 1 and take the risk; i did that and my bank account is growing fat! |

hi el matteto.........i saw your post and i was happy....the bringer of importation the slayer of ebook sellers , if not for you................ebook we still they buy El Matteo: As they say, Ideas rule the world. I am more than impressed at the pace and quality of ideas that have been expressed so far on this thread. It further proves that we Nigerians are great thinkers. I'm sure the great corporations of the world we know today didnt do anything different from what we are doing here today at the start. We have all seen a need in our country and we are all trying to tap into it. However, the greatest challenge everyone has is in turning the ideas into reality which is what we have to meticulously do. Firstly, I will like to plead that there shouldnt be any limit to membership. I will like everyone who is interested to be given a chance. If the person cannot meet up with the demands of the venture, then let it be on him/her to be left out. We may not come in on the same level cos our financial capabilities differ but members can be placed on diff levels depending on how much the person is willing to contribute. So technically speaking, we can all become shareholders in varying proportion which means the major shareholders maybe responsible for the major decision making in order to avoid the unnecessary rowdiness while the other members will be carried along. Also, in terms of marketing, I can suggest something. I was in Lagos briefly last week and while in an eatery, a young man walked up to me and asked me for some funds which he needs for transport to go for an interview. We got talking and I realised he is an OND holder that has been seeking for a job. After giving him some motivation, I decided to give him a job opportunity. We reached an agreement for him to market my stuffs. It will be on commission basis. This i believe is a very good marketing idea cos there is no way u will lose cos you are not going to be paying any salary, you will only pay commisions based on the quantity the individual sells. So if he doesnt sell, then he doesnt get any commision. This is what top companies of today use cos the idea is that no matter what happens you will never lose cos instead of paying salaries even when the person doesnt sell enough to cover up for the salary.
I think there are people looking for something to do so we can get them to do our marketing with us. Also, we can focus on people that will buy in wholesales cos this is he fastest way to make profit.
Lets just have a positive attitude towards this venture and we will see that there are no limits to what we can achieve. |
