A First Lieutenant's salary is still 1m+ and army doesn't owe salary, army gives your accommodation and feeds you most of the time. With my current lifestyle, I should still be able to save 700-800k at the end of the year. More money than I have seen in my short life so far.

I'm not greedy for billions, I just want be comfortable and not let my Mama be too dependent on government pension.

Nah God hand we dey.

If u are new on this thread and very curious pls take the pain to go through the whole thread. U will love it, its informative, educating and fun through out cos from the look of things some qtns are not necessary and when asked u will be ignored and u might feel bad about it like the guy asking when is the exam coming up. Let me answer that no exam it will be be interview( screening) straight pls educate urself and stop bringing unnecessary qtns here. Presently now we are at the stage of way forward don't drag us back

Good morning, fam. I've been following this thread for a while now. Thank you all for your inputs; they've been tremendously helpful.
I'd like to know if the forms must be printed in coloured copies or will B&W suffice? An immediate response will be most helpful. Thank you so much
No one cares about ur colored paper or black and white. Many will print coloured and will not even make the first list so don't waste ur money

It baffles to see how sentiment, religion and ethnicity is given so much priority. Lebete seriously u don't need this, army offended u and u left but life goes on if anyone is willing to join u don't need to discourage them. Everyone knows the situation of the country not just the army unless u are an alien in this nation.

To see a 17/18yrs old boy trying to join recruit or nda is enough challenge talk more of 20 something of age. Anyone willing to join army should register death at the back of his mind cos anything can happen.

Talking about other country thank God they are not corrupt like Nigeria so expect better welfare from them compare to us and at the same time army welfare is better than that of the police in this same country.

Pls in this forum let be mature enough and respect each other's opinions ND personality. Thanks and God bless us all

So if someone spot ur Testimonial to be fake, then u should check urself. There's no smoke without fire.

I also finished my primary school 2003 in Lagos and I was given FSLC grin
Seriously that was part of the issue that makes me to opt for another school FSLC cos I was told certificate stops 2001 and am 2002 set and seriously I don't want problem with primary cert
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by shobroy10(m): 3:05pm On Nov 02, 2018
Pls can someone come in here to analyze primary school certificate and testimonial issues pls

abiodunalasa:
O boy listen up...
If you can get Testimonial from ur primary school, you are good to go.

FSLC has been stopped. Schools just issue Testimonial and that's all.

Caveat though, I am talking about Lagos and Kwara. I don't know if that's applicable to every other state in Nigeria.

I finished primary school in 2003, and all I got was a Testimonial from my primary school and that's all.

So if you go and runs FSLC from one place and u input a year in which FSLC was no longer issued, o boy u don jones be that ooo undecided

Just go to ur school and get ur Testimonial, make sure ur DOB, NAMES and Years are correct.
You are good to go.
Good day.
Some testimonials no get date of birth like mine that's why I have to get another one because I went back to my school am told no certificate except the testimonial and again there are fuse about primary school certificate.

It will be difficult to get one as it's usually state government issued rather than primary school
U can get it from schools u just need a sure link. This is Nigeria u can even get it outside the school the only problem is no record of that but when u get it in school they will add ur name to their log.

I'm sorry if this issue has been treated before, but I would like to ask again. I don't have a First leaving school certificate. I didn't complete primary 6. But I have a sworn affidavit. Any advice for me please help! I intend to apply for the DSSC.
Let me try to answer this ur qtn to the best of my knowledge first primary cert is to be able to check ur age wc later on they will verify from the school u are bringing their certification forward. Again during screening they will calculate ur primary, ssce, uni years spent in other to know the possibility and authenticity of how old u said u are. Me I would have suggested that u collect one original primary school cert of one school and make sure is the old certificate not new as well as ur name is on there log book in case of reference/verification to avoid the story that touch. If u are shortlisted u will see some glaring older ppl claiming younger age and they will scale through cos they've done their assignments well.

Main man in the house pls take it from here and correct me if am wrong please

I think is wise candidates go for a comprehensive medical check up prior to first shortlistment so that there will be ample time to tackle any unforeseen ailment. Because army shortlisment is like the 2nd coming of Christ, and they might give only 1 week notice to report for interview and there's ain't gonna be time to run all those stuff.
I don't think is going to be like that this time around cos if we are to pass out with RC next year then the recruitment will be faster than that of course 44

Promotion for combatants is not based on that alone,SSC officers have alot of hurdles to cross, apart from convertion, you have to write Lt to Captain exam,Captain to Maj and senior staff course alongside regular officers, which DSSC doesn't write.Let me advice all of you,if you know you are not sound intellectually better look for another thing to do,to avoid spending your youthful age in something that may not last, this is because not everybody will convert to Regular and there's i rank limit if you can't convert, kindly check your selves very well

Young man, the army Job is not by muscle rather endurance and patience especially for those of you that applied for SSC,am not saying you should not train but reserve your energy for a very rigorous training ever,am not trying to scare you but all my course mate's that came to NDA with muscle dashed, some lost their lives,.Your priority now should be how to make the list.

I will be around to help clear any doubt you might have, i forgot my password for my initial nairaland account, had to open a new one all thanks to the training,i bet you will not be able to remember your ATM pin and other vital password so i just you buy a jotter and write it down
Sheff man I guess u are SSC 44 seriously I know is not about muscle but do u want me to sit and watch another person take my place in screening abeg when I become a cadet I will start enduring. Pls can ur take us through from ur credentials screening till last day to get a glimpse of what to expect. Have heard from others ooo but Der is alwayz 2 sides to a coin pls if u can

Hmmn!!! egbon calm down oo, this pressup of a thing just tire me wallahi, them say with practice I go improve wella. Me wey they manage 20 pushups come begin train hard to see if i go jack am reach atleast 30, brethren lo and behold after 1full week of constant pressup (Morning and night) I come depreciate for the number of pushups, to do 15 self de be me like say I carry 1 trailer of dangote cement, the only thing wey de give me joy be say I de comfortably cover a standard track 10 times in 15mins or less.
PS: make una no tell me to go download youtube videos of pressup oo, because the one when I being see follow there pattern nearly finish the 4 packs wen i de manage, right now na 2 packs remain and some of my guys de argue me say na my ribs de show
My guy seriously pushup can be hard at the same time slightly simple. First when doing pushup u need to concentrate on ur goal and secondly u need to be fast its even more simple than situps cos that one na die but yet u can still survive it.

4get those ppl that are looking at ur ribcage when the time comes them go submit to ur courage and hard work

but do they allow the folded fist push up (that is instead of opening and placing your palms on the ground, you form a blow and put the blow on the ground)
Padi start from today and mind u learn the original push ups and sit-ups cos fake plenty full everywhere. It's not that hard u just need focus and determination. I can do 50pushups and 40situps in 3min no bragging just practice

Lacasete or lebete my guy seriously u are right about issue of unemployment making ppl rush army but mind u is not the same for all. Some its because of the uniforms and yet not the same for all. Some it's the command and respect and yet not the same for all. Army training to many ppl might be difficult but to me is just like paying Messi or Ronaldo to play football. Since 2016 have been having sleepless dayz about the next recruitment and thank God it's here. For some of us army is a place to be happy, serve and protect cos if we don't who will.

Nigga calmdown joor, after you don go departmental, college, faculty etc party tire in the name of induction, you wan come drag pip with people wey don de plant their skull for 5 years.
On this one I disagree if they know they should just make it Nda alone the moment they introduce SSC equality suppose to be met. They spent 5years so we no go play for Uni too and again they will be commissioned straight a graduate will wait, apply, bla bla bla and bla b4 9month training if we are to Yan the truth it suppose be the same rule. They set the rule and we know it forging ahead to apply is our choice and we love it and care less about the disparities.
