Hello Dele,

One school I think you can learn from is https://www.masterschool.com/. If you pass the aptitude test, you would be scheduled for 10mins interview if successful, and there is no waiting list, you would gain admission into the program.

Pros:
-if admitted, no need to pay tuition till you get a job

-individual with zero experience can do it.

-help you with resume

-they would get you a job after the program

- hands-on experience (practical and real industry projects)

-industry professionals led classes.

Cons:

-don't start it if you know you won't finish it

-if you stop after you started, you would still pay the tuition upto where you stopped, based on their calculations.

-tuition isn't cheap (for example: their cybersecurity is $C15,000 , however you start paying 10% of your salary each month, once you get a job till you pay the 15k in full, no interest)

Please check their site for more information

I recommended the above because of hands-on experience you would gain from it (which you can use to make to confidently speak to whatever questions asked on any interview)

Other cheaper options you might consider:

-udemy
-NIPCA https://blacktechhub.org/) - Nigerian owned
-cybrary (for cynersecurity)

Hey Man, life is really good in London ON. I have lived there for a like a year. Merely jumping on fb market place, kijiji.ca, rentals.ca, and homestead.ca should get you a nice place. Houses and Apartments are quite affordable in London, and most units have big space.

If you are the outgoing type, who likes to party, you might not enjoy London as much, though few places to "shakebody" exist, but if you don't give a hoot about that and like to stay indoor and mostly be by yourself, you would definitely enjoy your stay there.

Good luck man

Hello everyone, I am new here. I’ll be coming to Canada in two weeks; London, Ontario precisely. I am looking for a very nice affordable apartment there …kindly assist if you have any plug.

Hey @yunqdady

I don't think there is any accelerated program here in Ontario. However, if you already had your pharm degree, I think there is a route from B.pharm to pharmD, that I know for sure.

Not sure if you can transfer your credit from your current pharm program ( don't quote me on this), perhaps you can get credits for some courses if you do WES course by course evaluation and have your academic syllabi.

I wouldn't rule out any possibility though, anything is possible, but I can assure you that if you put in your application after completing required prerequisites and pass your mmi or Casper test, you would get into the program.

Hope I didn't confuse you more

yunqdady:

Hello.
Please is there any accelerated PharmD program (3years instead of 4years) available? What's the fees like per year and what's the prospects? How is it getting admitted from Nigeria with a BPharm cert or transferring credits from an uncompleted BPharm degree? Would appreciate a response

She should mail one of the doctors with proofs, explaining her issue.

I got my medicals rescheduled from September 2nd to August 10th after doing this.

Bless you brother!!!

elenewton1:
Congratulations to her.
She has to print the medical request letter and take it to any of the hospitals (IOM or Qlife). When she explains to them with the printed copy as evidence, they would work out a date for her in order to meet up with the 30-day deadline.
All the best.

Hello guys,

Please I need your help! A sister of mine got her medical request on the 21st of July, her effort to book assessment with IOM Lagos or Q-life has been futile so far as they don't have time slot within the 30 days expiry period set on the medical request letter. She has about 23 more days till the request expires.

Is there a way she can get the medical done without going through the online booking system? If there is, please how can she go about it? If not, what can she do to maybe get the due date extended and how?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Has she applied for you and your sis once before turning 29 or before entering the cut off age for dependent child? If your application has been submitted before entering the cut off age, I think they might still consider you, but if she just wants to apply now, that I am not sure.

But you can explore study route though, it is faster if your application is solid or Express entry, which is relatively slow.

MODIFIED
I read it again, and I see your mom is just applying for her own PR in Canada, I really have no clue as to how that works, but I think people do apply directly for their family once they get notification to apply for PR themselves, but with your age thrown into the equation, I really don't know bro. However, still consider study route and express entry as stated earlier. I hope someone more knowledgeable about the process comes to your aid soon.

Horlamidei:
My mom is set to apply for her canada pr. She has me and my junior sister in all her documents as her only 2children, no family member with her in ontario Canada where she stays. She works and stays alone.

I will clock 29years this December which I think makes me above the age of been a dependent child.

Her worries now is how to get me and my other sibling to Canada.

Please is there anyway or pathway to migrate to join her as am still battling with this ielts stuff??!

I even asked her if there's anyway she can process me to get a pr as she has already declared me and my sister has the only children and family member she has.

Please, any way or pathway even if na visitation sef??

Sure, can do here too. Before venturing into IT, Pharmacy has always been what I wanted to do. Been trying to get into U of T for 3 consecutive years till I finally got in the third time.

Why did I go into it? Well, let's just say almost all my work experiences have been in pharmaceuticals and pharmacy related fields, I love the patient centeredness ( very stressful I must confess), the knowledge, would have loved to say the money too but obviously there is more money in IT, but looking at the business side of things as well too, there is a lot of money in Pharma.

Given the IT experience I have had, coupled with the freedom I enjoyed with it ( working remotely), might consider IT related line in Pharmacy at a long run( Pharmacy informatics).

Hope that helps.

zendaya45:

Hi
If it won’t be a problem, do you also mind sharing the things you considered that made you switch to pharmacy from IT cause I’ve heard cases of the other way round and this is something I’ll like to learn from. I can send an email if you’ll prefer sharing there.

Has anyone received PR after March 2019 and was able to land successfully in Canada. Theres a form attached to COPR that says people should not land till restrictions are lifted.

why not continue in that line, why do you wanna switch course, there are lot of Nigerians working as a Pharmacist here, if you still love your profession, doing the boards and acing is very possible, otherwise, you can go ahead with your plan, if your mind is already made up.

Well, UK has the best Healthcare system in the world.

Please see attached, I remember it's something we talked about in class not long.

Mmamaroon:

Thanks for asking the original question, I've often wondered myself if there is a "private" medical sector in Canada.

My frame of reference was the UK (not even the US or Nigeria and absolutely nothing to do with being elitist grin) which has a very vibrant state health system (the NHS) but also has private consultants one can book an appointment with. Apparently these do not exist in Canada, at least for minor illnesses, from what has been shared here. Could it be that there do exist, at least in some provinces, for more serious conditions? I'm surprised though, given that Canada is so similar to the UK, in terms of being not as capitalist as the US.

Apparently it's a long standing debate and gets tempers flaring grin

Thanks for this.

Not sure you need one. If you had submitted one when applying for PR, which I am sure you did, you won't need to submit another. There maybe some "ifs" though; if you had lived in some other country (ies) before becoming a Canada PR then you would need police report from all those countries.

Things might have changed though, but as at March 2020, I believe I read it in one of their citizenship documents. I might be wrong too, I am open to correction

czaratwork:
Hi all. For those who recently applied for citizenship, did you submit your Nigerian police clearance certificate and how can one get Nigerian police clearance certificate from Canada.

Thank you
