From what I gather the main reason was something to do with election. Now my question to Tapiya and co is how that has got anything to do with having a large family/igbo/non northerners living in Joshuhhuh?? Why burning peoples shops in Ahmadu Bello way? Why burn peoples houses? Are these people responsible for their candidates not winning the electionshuhhuh

I actually got off the phone to Jos this afternoon. Thisd thing started on Monday when some shops in Ahmadu Bello way got burnt overnight. My question is why would sane people burn other peoples properties when the said people have nothing to do with their electionshuhhuh?

If you didnt get my point, let me rephrase, the ones you  see in Africa are there by choice. To an extent I think they live  a different lifestyle to what they are used to in the west. They might complain about the security problems / epileptic power supply, etc but yet there seems to be more and more of them coming in!!!

Actually going to Africa will in no way put them in jeopardy. I know expatriates in Nigeria who wont trade their places for any job here in London. These guys get paid in Foreign currency, live in top quality accomodations, get VIP treatment everywhere, plus free tropical sun which they wont normally get in dreary ol blighty.

Damn Femigirl,

You took that question out of my mouth. I have loads of Aussie friends and colleagues here and when they go on about how good Australia is, I ask them the same question and they never seem to give you a decent answer lol.

Its a great idea to have this biuldings in Nigeria but that does not necessarily mean we are getting better. Truth be told, most of these biuldings will go to the elite. These projects should therefore not be mistaken for economic boom because it wont benefit anybody below the upper class.
