my thought exactly.. some set of men will even decide to help the lady and when she's not comfortable with it, they'll be like "no, I'm not doing it because I want something in return". They'll act like they've got a beautiful heart. Let them start dating the lady in question, they feel they've bought the lady in question and she should be able to cope with their shit. She runs from maltreatment and that's when they'll start wailing here and there... like they were scammed. She won't stay cuz her peace of mind is much more valuable than your "money". OP, if you meet a lady in future who doesn't demand for anything, and you want to give to remind her later how you lavished on her when she leaves cuz she can't cope with some things then don't give at all (I'm saying this because of your past experiences). Not all ladies demand from men but if you give them without them asking, so be it. If she is a leech like in your case, and she asks for the impossible, decline. It's your money, not hers.
