Education / 5 Things Undergraduates Students Should Do During Strikes/vacations by Sigggy: 6:47pm On Aug 30, 2021
Update from

School vacations are meant to refuel the energy of students and give them some valuable time with their families. However, it can even be spent learning, exploring and making discoveries.

With the presence of ASUU and the unpredictable climate of the nation education system, undergraduates must leverage on learning avenues to be the better versions of themselves.

Here, there are five things undergraduates should do to engage themselves during vacations:

1. Take new courses online
The internet has a lot of perks to offer anyone willing to make sacrifices. There are tons of long and short courses on the internet today every undergraduate can take advantage of during vacations. Do your search and start learning new courses. Google is your friend.

2. Volunteer and lead
Making the world a better place is another thing you can do during vacations. There are several organizations looking to leverage on your administrative and storytelling skills. The result of doing this is that your curriculum vitae will house some volunteering experiences. is recruiting intern bloggers who would like to develop their writing skills. Also, volunteering experiences also serve as a work experience in some organizations’ books.

3. Attend webinars and seminars
A webinar is a remote atmosphere where you have access to a pool of knowledgeable professionals. It could be more than that. To have access to webinars, be active on career-driven platforms. Remember, your network is your net worth.

Seminar is physical webinar where professionals meet to discuss issues. Here, you can also network and explore opportunities.

4. Go for an industrial training
What better way do undergraduates have to learn the hands-on experience of their course of study except through industrial training. Your school may not deem it fit to put you on industrial training, but you need it. Industrial training introduces undergraduates to work experience in their fields.

5. Hone your communication skills
Communication skills are one of the prerequisites employers or clients consider before working with you. Most of the time, you may not be aware your lack of communication skills is putting you at a disadvantage. Hence, spend your vacations reading new books, writing, publicly speaking and also listening.

Politics / School Feeding : Pupils Served Expired Rice – Niger Lawmakers by Sigggy: 10:19pm On Aug 29, 2021
Update from

Pupils under the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme in Niger State are allegedly being fed with expired rice, reports.

They are also purportedly being served a quarter of an egg for their meals instead of a full egg.

This is from findings gotten by some members of the Niger State House of Assembly, who claimed the programme in the State is shrouded in a lot of malpractices and sharp practices from officials and vendors in the State.

Buhari govt spends N1.5bn monthly on school feeding in Kano – Ganduje

Raising a motion on matter of urgent importance during plenary, the Member representing Suleja Constituency, Honorable Liman Iya told the House that the children were given poor and under nutritious meals by the officials.

According to him, serving the kids such kind of meals would defeat the purpose of the program in the state

He stated, “we wonder why primary school pupils in the state are server with poor and under nutritious meals. We are disturbed by this as it will defeat the purpose of the program.

“I received a lot of messages showing pictures of the type of food being fed to the children. Our investigation showed that the type of rice is an expired quantity of rice and God know how it was prepared.

“The ration given to the children is not enough. Certain meals that should be for one person are shared among three pupils. There are so many complaints across the state. So many malpractices are happening that need to be addressed.”

Career / Must Read : Ways You Can Make Money On The Internet In Nigeria by Sigggy: 11:50am On Aug 29, 2021
Ways You Can Make Money On the Internet in Nigeria is a very useful for all youths in Nigeria seeking for channels to meet end needs. The unemployment rate in Nigeria is on the high side every year as more students graduate from tertiary institution annually.

Below is my list of the top Ways You Can Make Money On the Internet in Nigeria. Read Along!

1. Cryptocurrency : Cryptocurrency is still on the rise. Gradually, many businesses are accepting Cryptocurrency as a form of payment. You should consider investing in Cryptocurrency.

All you need is study and understand the market. Buy when it is low and sell when it is high. There are many ways you can make money with Cryptocurrency. If you got low capital, invest in minute coins like doge, shiba, Ada, ethereum, etc Buy Bitcoin only if your capital is high.

2. Affiliate marketing : It is all about recommending products to people online, if they buy through you, you get a commission. Just find an affiliate network & join, then pick products to promote. You can promote them on your Facebook, Instagram, any other social media or blog.

If you are the type of person that is good with conversation, or you’re good with marketing, you should seriously think about affiliate marketing. Imagine you promote a product that is worth N15,000 with a commission of 20%, Now you have about 5000 friends on Facebook, 5000 on Twitter, 5000 on Instagram, some via WhatsApp & other social media networks. You promote the product to them & about 1000 of them purchase through your link. That means your total sales will be N15, 000 X 1000 = N15 million. And your commission which is 20% will be N3M.

Take it or leave it, many people buy products online these days. You can key into it and make money via affiliate marketing. The most popular affiliate networks; Jumia Affiliate, and Konga Affiliate.

3. Tiktok, Instagram & YouTube videos : if you love making videos on your Phone or with a camera, you can make money uploading those videos on those platforms. It can make you rich and also popular. You can make videos about anything. You can talk about anything.

Just upload them to YouTube and share them across your social network. Build your brand. As you get views and traffic on your pages, you get money too. A lot of IG influencers, skit makers are millionaires today as a result of this.

4. Creating an online shop : It could be your WhatsApp status, Instagram page or any other platform. It is about buying and selling products online. You can create your own online store and sell products online. You could be the next richest person in your city.

I know people who use these platforms to sell hairs, clothes, shoes, lip glosses, social media accounts to mention a few.

Even if you don’t have capitals to store products, you can still do this business, you get pictures from online shops which got the products, add your amount to the initial price & promote the post if possible; once you get buyers, you order for it & sell.

5. Social Media marketing : Social media marketing is all about helping businesses, individuals and organizations find their audience on social media. The truth is, most Nigerians now spend their time on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms. I do this tho, Truth is I’ve made millions from my Twitter from my previous suspended accounts to my Current account. This has open up new opportunities for businesses to reach people and make more sales. As more businesses embrace the internet, SM marketing will keep being a source of income for people.

To be a social media marketer, you need to understand the algorithm of your target social media platform and how you can use it to convert for businesses or individuals. You can even become a social media manager for companies, brands on Twitter, IG & even Facebook and get paid.

You need to be very skilled and good with these social media platforms to work as a social media manager. There are also websites that you can search and find this kind of job. I personally manage some artistes & skit makers Twitter pages on here too.

6. Learn a skill or use your talent : if you can sing, act or you funny in nature, the entertainment industry has saved many unemployed Graduates, Use that talent. But if you’re talentless, acquire a skill; Blogging, Web Development, Mobile App Development, Graphics Design, Video Animation, Copy writing, and many others. It pays.

We round up our list on Ways You Can Make Money On the Internet in Nigeria. Thank you for reading. Do not forget to share and save a soul!

The Nigerian elite pretend as if nothing is wrong, while the country is on a time bomb. Imagine these useless kids with heavy weapons. Henceforth, the parents of criminal youths should be prosecuted with their burden they call children. Many of these guys are the products of irresponsible parenting.

Lol. I wish you could smell the vomit you're bringing out of your mouth.

What happens to a parent that has left their child to his fate because they have done everything possible to correct him but he has just chosen to be destructive?

NYSC / NYSC : Things To Do Before Your Service Year Runs Out by Sigggy: 9:14pm On Aug 27, 2021
The one-year mandatory service for Nigerian university graduates means different thing to different people. For some, it presents the opportunity to create a career path. For others, it presents an opportunity to learn new skills and meet new people. Yet, for some, it is just an opportunity to cool off after three or more years of rigorous academic activities. As a matter of fact, it is the first time some people get to leave their own without their parents watching over them. While some set out to achieve some set goals, some just want to enjoy the one year while it lasts.

If you have little or nothing planned for your service year, here’s five advices that you should consider: training and proficiency in basic computing skills.

As the world is now overwhelmingly digital, some basic skills are needed to keep up with the technological trend. If you have no prior experience with computer and its operation, you should start by training for and gaining proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Your aim should be intermediate or advanced level. However, you will need more than these three to cope in the coming days. Start somewhere. One year is enough for you to learn whatever basic computing skill you need. Next, have a functional CV. After three to seven years of active academic works, you must have functional CV by now.

The CV should be at least a page and a half long. It mustn’t contain only the details of your academic sojourn but also your industrial training experience, internship(s), and all the projects you volunteered for. This would pass you off as a leader who is interested in not just money but also contributing to the society.

Many people have the same degree and even graduated from better schools. Something other than the degree you are holding must stand you out.

Next, keep an active Linkedin account. Before rounding off your service year, ensure you have a LinkedIn account with an updated profile.

LinkedIn is different from Facebook, Twitter or Instagram that is a place for all forms of social activities. LinkedIn is strictly for professionals. Your profile must be enticing to employers or future partners as the case may be.

If your profile displays that you don’t have some set of skills, you are already tilting towards the losing side. Getting one or two persons to write recommendations on your profile is a good way to gain visibility on LinkedIn. Then, develop a strong network.

This is an essential part of personal and professional development. Attend conferences, workshops, seminars etc. on some of the things that interests you whenever you have the chance. The good relationship you create and then maintained would help you in the future either on your professional or personal journey.

Ensure the relationship you keep are those that are essential to your goals in life. The strength of your network would determine your success or failure personally and professionally. In this generation, network is key and works best if it’s positively explored for the furtherance of your goals.

Finally, have a knack for presentation, communication and project management. No matter what you studied, you should be good in at least two of these three areas. Paper qualifications is not enough in this generation if perhaps they are the only things you could boast of. Like I said, many people have the same degree as you. Organizations look for what makes you different from the crowd.

Of all professional skills to learn, the most lucrative ones are Copywriting, Data Analytics, IT, AI, App Development, Full Stack Development, Affiliate Marketing, Programming, e.t.c. Luckily for you, is hiring intern writers who will love to develop their writing skills while they write on their favorite niche.

If you don’t stand out from the rest of the people, you would not get some of the things you want either personally or professionally. In conclusion, the journey is long. Consider getting a mentor. A mentor would help add clarity to your journey. Above all, gather as many skills as you can now.

They would come in handy when you have a thousand others to compete with and something needs to make you stand out.

Adios! Hasta Luego Mi Amigos y Amigas.

Following the recent security threats uprising in Lagos State University (LASU), the management has made a review of their security guidelines. This comes exactly a week after LASU Comrade, Omomewa Yusuf was reportedly shot dead very close to the school gate.

The Memo revealed online by signed by the Vice Chancellor of the institution stated, "The University Management has keenly observed that some members of staff and students have not been complying with the directive given on the use of staff and students’ Identification Cards, even, in the face of the current state of insecurity in the Country.

The Management also DIRECTED as follows that:

(ii). The Car Park in front of the University Senate should be put to effective use for staff and visitors;

(iii). All staff must come in through the main entrance to the Senate while the other side (back) should be left strictly for the members of the Management;

(iv). All staff and students must comply with the directive on the usage of the elevator at the Senate Building;

(v). All visitors/guests shall be thoroughly screened by the Security personnel before gaining access into the University Senate Building, and are advised to make use of the intercom facility on the ground floor of the Building.

In another development, the University Management equally wishes to inform the community that construction work on the light -up project of the university perimeter fence has commenced. In addition, the Badagry main gate has been temporarily shut down due to the ongoing construction works of the road embarked upon by the Government, hence, staff, students and visitors are advised to use the LASU/Iba gate.
