Family › Re: I'm Experiencing Emotional Blackmail From My Family! by silverr(f): 1:01pm On May 22, 2018 |
Ezkid: Hello house, though some people have accused me of being an ungrateful child by calling out my mother's unbecoming attitude, I wish to state categorically that I do not belong in the group of people that can be tagged as such. But the burdens that rested on my shoulders is very much for a young guy like me and it has taken its toll on my mental and physical health.
I'm a guy that work 6 to 7 hours everyday and I make little amount I can consider enough to sustain the life someone like me should be living as a young simple guy, but because I've made a terrible mistake of relocating from where I was living alone to live with my family, now it has become obvious that my family have considered me as their sole savior and the first button to press whenever they're in need, they've lost total faith in my father and theyve stop disturbing him like before.
Like I told u guys before, Mum is no longer working since she became born again and Dad is out of town, he only come around whenever he got the alerts, but before my relocation he used to send some tokens even before the end of the month, now it seems to me my Dad have capitalized on the fact that I'm working, and I should be responsible for the whole family's upkeep until his arrival Jeez! Since I got to this house I've not being able to save a penny, my expenses is twice as much as my earnings. Whenever I go to work, I'll come back to meet my mom waiting for me at the balcony with a story of how she's been praying for someone to buy her favorite dish for her since morning, the funniest thing is no one has ever asked me for one naira since I got there but there's a way they'll start talking about food, money and other things that ll make me dip my hand in my pocket and hand over what I have, also there's these old look on everyone's face whenever they need something from me which will make me to give them what they want without being asked.
I've practically become a slave to them, always waiting for me to come before they'll start talking about what to cook and eat, right now I'm at the edge, I just want out immediately! All my earnings are being used on food for the whole family, every time I give them money I always refuse to eat out of what they cook thinking they'll get the message but its always the same, I always pity my younger ones cos they've got a real battle ahead of the.
Pls house should I leave or remain with them for the time being? Right now I'm thinking of running away from them. You're just an ungrateful child. Nothing more than that Feeding your family makes you shed tears. Just repay your family all they have spent on you from the time you were born till you began to earn 1 kobo. I mean feeding, accommodating, school fees, uniforms, fighting for you, transport fares etc then calm down and pay your mother for carrying you for 9 months and giving birth to you, pay her for the pain, blood, hospital fees etc with interest oooooooo. After that take your money and find a hoe to spend it on, i know spending on hoes wont pain you cus ure a stupid child. Just pray your wife gives birth to 1 or 2 kids at most cus this rubbish you're doing know your kids will do it back to you with interest so no need to pay plenty school fees. |

borie4u: It is very funny how people fall for cheap scam like this. Anyway the deed has been done. Catching these peeps is quite simple. Go to police headquater at alagbon. Talk to an officer in the fraud unit. Good you have the account number. U don't even need the phone number. Send some cash into the account. Of course someone will come to pick it up not knowing that the acc has been marked for fraud. There is always an officer at the back of every bank building. Pronto there are caught. Hit me up if your in Lagos. I can direct u Thanks |

askibee: wow this is a very serious case o
my supicion, why didnt you pple report this to the police?what is the occupation of your friend?i mean her source of income?this said person knows her too well its not just a random person.now as for getting your money back and arresting the guy its simple,no money gotteb with your sweat will be taken away from you easily that i promise you,but your story is not adding up,i dont know you location but if this happen in lagos i can send you to some police detective who can follow you up on the case, but thats if you are being sincere, somethings are not just adding up Is this a good reason to open a case? I mean all the info here is what we have left. Account number and phone numbers. No call recordings, no meet-up location, she has also deleted the few messages they exchanged? My initial motive was giving the police or whatsoever unit that's serious about catching these crooks a heads up. I'm sure we're not the 1st they did this to. Was thinking this information could be the missing link in a puzzle. For police detectives, maybe later. My friend can't talk to anyone about this. She didn't even know I told the whole story here. I just told here that I am trying to get info on where to send their details to. She's quite respected in her circles, she is telling everyone that she left him cus he isn't the one for her. Just me and her pastor know what happened. So an anonymous tip off is the perfect solution. I already thought of the social media handles of the security forces. But I'm hoping for a more direct link so I can be sure I am reaching the office in charge or that someone who can work with this info will stumble on this thread. Hope you get it |

No vex, my schedules are pretty tight. The next few days after she paid 25k, the guy called and said bokoharam has broken into their place at benue and his mother was injured seriously and has been rushed to the hospital. The hospital staff spoke with my friend and said that if 150k wasn't paid immediately, they will discharge her and her grand daughter. Meanwhile he claimed he has collected permission for emergency leave and was waiting for the helicopter to take him to the airport. 150k paid. Finally Mr Man got back and said he forgot his phone at the rig in his rush (staff normally have to submit valuable items at check-in) so some protocols he placed on the account aren't allowing him withdraw but he'll sort it out within 1-2days and he was very grateful to my friend. He later sent her pictures of his mum with the fresh wounds and some after pictures with the wounds plastered up. Last straw, they needed to fly the mum out cus she was developing a post surgery infection that could affect her ear, nose and throat. She already had a visa but needed to pay for an air ambulance and one staff to accompany her. the cost was 2.5m. My friend became suspicious here but still decided to help. (what if it was true? or a test lol) 1.5M sentas deposit that when they get to us he should balance them. He came up and said he needed some cash to give the person accompanying them to deposit for hospital bills about 8,000usd. At this point, the scale fell off her eyes and she opened up to her pastor that he was right. Pastor had to call them and tell them that he's a police officer and they are wanted for fraud by trick. They haven't picked her call since then. She has deleted everything about them but I managed to get these details and I want it to get to the police. I believe it could help them nail them or track them. I'm thinking of sending it to the sars social media handle (if there is). Is there a better alternative?
IF not for anything, for the heartbreak they caused this very nice lady. She has not been herself. She even called some family to tell them that someone may come to see them soon cus the guy told her to do so and even spoke with her mum on one occasion to show seriousness. The embarrassment is so much that she can't even tell anybody about the money she lost. Every bad and good belle are now expecting inlaw. They are just too cruel and know how to fish for victims. I hope this is their last. Any suggestions will help. |

It appears he goes about targeting well to do single ladies on facebook. He approached my friend and began to tell her about himself and how he has been observing her and feels she is a lucky find. he told her he's an offshore supervisor at NNPC's offshore rig somewhere around bonny island and sent her pictures of himself at work with some teammates. He then said he wants to be straightforward and he wants to marry her. They exchanged phone numbers and they began talking offline. He told her that he was once married before but his wife died during childbirth but the child survived. The child supposedly lives with his mother in Benue state cus his mother was kidnapped from his Lagos Duplex few yrs ago and the village is full of jealous ppl who may harm them. He gave her the number of his mother. She called and indeed a crook with an old woman like voice spoke to her and she also spoke to another crook pretending to be a little girl. The man requested her to call him by 5:30am everyday while he calls late in the night saying that's when he resumes and dismisses from work. He told her that his weak point is that he doesn't have a church he attends when he's on leave. They later agreed that her pastor should rededicate him to Christ on phone. The pastor did and prayed for him and by the next day he started sharing testimonies of how everything the pastor said has started manifesting. Days later, his so called mother called her and begged her to help her calm her son down that he's angry with her she was curious to kno what happened from the son who told her that he doesn't know how come his atm with his mother got expired and how he's afraid that some crooks have swapped the atm while "trying to help his mother withdraw money from the atm" he couldnt do anything cus he wasn't with his phone. He later agreed to calm down and asked my friend to help them out with the small money (about 50k). My friend sent 25k and this was the beginig of extortions. Meanwhile her pastor told her the day the atm issue happened that something isnt right about that man and he may be a 419. She didn't take it to hrt. To be continued |

Nawa o. So nobody will fail questions again? What shall it profit us if the wrong person passes the interview. You can pass the interview, can you change your personality to be what they thought you were? That's why we have angry staffs giving clients attitude up and down. If I catch you fine tuning your answers, I won't even give you tfare after the interview.
You don't need to pretend to be what you're not to get a job you won't like just for a paycheck. Yours is coming. E.g I know an ICT expert who told me frankly that he can't work under someone for more than 5yrs cus he wants to be his own boss too. He also said he can't be happy earning less than 350k cus he won't be able to save for his dream. I couldn't hire him because he priced higher than we could afford but that day, I got a mail from a friend in usa saying that they needed an African (not a Nigerian) for a contract of 2yrs. Pay was $40 per hour. No added benefits. I couldn't think of a better person than him and I wasn't going to let NAIJA stop him, I got him an African country's passport with a Nigerian visa. Weeks later, he was on his way to USA. Now, he doesn't have to work five years again, cus after two years, he'll have more than enough to start his company. If he had lied to take my job, he won't even have lasted and he may not have enough to start after the five years sef. |

Business › Re: Poor Customer Service By UPS Nigeria by silverr(f): 12:31am On Apr 05, 2017 |
proffemi: Some educational materials were shipped to my department by an alumnus via UPS on 12/2/2017. The package was held by Customs, pending payment of customs duties. This is normal. Also normal is this: since the enclosed items are for educational purposes, they qualify for a waiver, and my department doesn't have to pay a kobo. The process of obtaining such is supposedly straightforward. We have used other couriers in the past, and the process has usually taken between 1 and 3 days.
These are the sources of my frustration with UPS Nigeria:
1. When the package was held, I initially got no notification from them. On noting on the tracking page that the package was help in the "warehouse", I tried calling their lines TEN times. Each time, the line just rang itself out. No message, nothing. A notice eventually arrived by post SIX days after the package was held.
2. I emailed them, and they requested for the usual letter applying for a waiver. I sent that letter on 6th March, 2017. Till today, 4th April, my package remains seized.
3. My last email to them asking for an update was on 20th March. No reply till today.
What manner of "customer service" is this? This behavior is outrageous. I have used UPS in the US for over a dozen years, and this is definitely not how they operate over there.
Please who knows how to get UPS Nigeria to give me closure on this matter? I just experienced the same thing o. I had to visit their office opposite gbagada with my lawyer to threaten them before they did anything. Finally, I had to pay an outrageous custom duty charge plus the super insane amount I paid to ship. I just received my shipment and its not even complete someone tampered with them and stole things. My first time using them, will definitely be my last. If you dont go to their office, no show. |

boladale: I thought: if this guy has not changed as he said, why did he tell her of his past? Couldnt he have continued to keep her in the dark? It might seem that everyone is missing this fact Nope. here are the answers i came up with: 1. He was afraid she could find out later esp when they begin to prepare for marriage. 2. He used it to substantiate his past riches story. Op, at what point did your friend know of his past riches since she didn't know he was married from the onset? Let her request to meet this guy's family, in order to clear her eyes. I don't think he is from any 'OK' family as he said, whatever that means - and his background will say a lot about his person. Dont listen to any attemt to explain it away.Me self once nearly enter one chance before I marry. Your friend should be careful at this time, let her not rely on her own judgement AT ALL. God bless.
