@op This is not the best picture to determine how "fine" you are! Post a full pix of yourself and shove that glasses aside so we can properly see what we are judging. This is a yeye photo overall. 2/10

@Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo
Please dont generalize! It's like saying all nigerians are 419. I'm not sure why you only meet dirty and smelly men but it still doesn't make every Nigerian man dirty and smelly. Remember you have male family members too. So be careful!

obo_man: There is no logic whatsoever in celebrities visiting prisons....

Why should criminals be given gifts and attention?

As someone else pointed out, there are deserving places like orphanages, hospitals, etc.....

We most times do many things in this country that aren't well thought of.......

Finally! Someone with brains! I thought i was the only one thinking the same thing.
I find it hard to comprehend this nigerian mentality of donating to prisoners.
Those prisoners are there for a reason. Some are armed robbers that might have robbed your neighbourhood, murderers, thieves, assaulters, ritualist, kidnappers...the list is endless. The government should be responsible for their well being. Why should the way they are treated affect us in anyway? If she wants to do something to improve the way they are treated, she should perhaps introduce a rehabilitation program that will benefit both the society and the prisoner. She could have even helped raise awareness of the living conditions in prison but who in 9ja has time for that. There are people living worse than prisoners in 9ja. I'm sure those prisoners wont even benefit from those things she donated...ODE! How will donating to prisoners make your country a better place?

There are plenty of people out on the streets of nigeria or other charity organization that will greatly benefit from her. She could have reached out to them which might even stop them from committing atrocities that will lead them to prison in the first place.

Anyway, it's her money! undecided
It aint my business!

Fashion / Share Your Sewing Projects by sima(f): 9:46am On Dec 09, 2013
So I recently picked up sewing in October of this year. I've always wanted to learn how to sew for the longest time but i've always felt intimidated by it. I felt there was way too much hassle involved so I always shy away from it. I finally gathered some courage to attempt it since trying doest hurt, right? I also figured i could always drop it if i didn't like it. So I decided to teach myself how to sew with the help of youtube and other informations online.

Fashionistas all over the internet like instagram, blackgirlskillingit, nigeriangirlskillingit, youtube stylist gurus, fashion and personal style bloggers, and celebrities all inspired me to start sewing for myself. I absolutely love the idea of seeing an outfit online and just creating it for myself without the hassle of trying to find out where to buy the outfit from. And sometimes when you lucky enough to find it, it turns out to be ridiculously expensive or they dont ship to your country. It has happened to me way too many times. Anyway, i decided to save myself all these stress by learning how to sew. And besides, there arent too many tailors here that make sense. They will charge you the amount you did pay to get a dress in a high end store. You better off buying it online.

I decided to get a decent sewing machine for a very reasonable price (thank God it was on sale) and embark in my journey on sewing. I always envied those girls that created their own outfits and you couldn't even tell it was homemade. I've sewn a couple of things which i'm proud of and some not so much. I consider myself a beginner so dont judge harshly lol.

Enough rambling for a sec. My purpose of this topic is for you peeps here on nairaland (male and female) to share some of the things you've sewn for yourself or someone by posting a picture of it.
Who knows, someone might be posting your next outfit. LOL

Health / Re: Safe Home Remedies For Yellow Teeth#dentist Directive by sima(f): 8:00am On Dec 09, 2013
I once got my teeth whitened by my dentist and it cost me about $380 without any significant results. It got my teeth whiter by 2 shades and I felt ripped off. To make things even worse, it made my teeth very sensitive. I never had issues with sensitive teeth in the past but i guess I bought one for $380.
A couple of months after my trip to the dentist, i decided to try the crest whitening strips which actually did a good job at whitening my teeth for only $50. After I got the result i wanted, i started using the crest 3D whitening toothpaste to maintain it and remove daily stains.

Homemade remedies does not work as quickly and arent as effective as most people would want it to be. Although it does give you a satisfactory end result over a long period of time if you continue using it. I've been there, done that, but na long thing.

Chie! These are serious accidents o. I'm not sure if i should blame this on the naija roads or the faulty car with faulty break. May God give those involved speedy recovery and for those who lost their lives, may their souls rest in peace sad

Romance / Re: Why do some women have fish brain? by sima(f): 7:19am On Dec 09, 2013
The girl you met is obviously a fish brain. Why did she go back to your friend in the first place if she didnt have any bad intensions. I see nothing wrong with you introducing her to your friend(s) because your woman should be comfortable with your friends. She made a very bad decision going to see the guy behind your back.

Your so called friend is also a loser. Why in his right senses will he want to rape your gf? Doesnt he have scruple? On the bright side, you now know the true nature of ur so called gf and your foolish friend. My advise is to stay away from them.
