Fresia01: Abeg those wey say they prefer 2 listen 2 foreign musics, can u tell me any foreign artists dat uses meaningful lyrics apart 4rm f*ck dis f*ck dat!
Obviously, U have never heard of people like Yanni, Fun, Coldplay, Owl City, Alicia Keys etc.

D point here is dat we have a lot of artistes in Nigeria that don't "think" (not weed inspired thinking) DEEP. Dose wu fink music is all about beat, blings, and ass-shaking videos.

That said; it doesn't mean we don't have gud musicians. Dare-Art-Alade; 2baba; Sound Sultan; Lagbaja (damn! That guy is SOUND) and deir Mum--Asa!

That's d point. If U don't get it, shut d f**k up!
GamingRe: Nigeria Is Not Included In FIFA14 Even After Winning Afcon 2013 by simiolu1(m): 11:52am On Sep 12, 2013
haibe: That's to show you how unrealistic fifa is, penalty isn't that hard, is it? How can a whole team take 8 penalties and score just 1, its so annoying, penalty is not that hard real life, PES made it very realistic, the only problem you face in pes penalty is what you face real life, the right direction to take and caution in applying force to the ball, that how it is real life unlike fifa where i have to be in a chess mode in order to take a penalty, rubbish, even a non-professional footballer won't find it so hard to score a penalty.

Pes all the way jare, the graphics alone on pc is killing, the only thing i don't like is that the only have one commentary, the need other commentators. Am tired of jon and jim.

By the way i can trash anyone on fifa because there are set-backs in the game, a simple up-through ball will do the trick, haha it beats all the defender and the striker is unmarkable, i am able to score 8 goals in a march using just up-through ball, lmao what a useless game.
Ur post shows how ignorant U r about Fifa gameplay. Being one-on-one with a keeper doesn't guarantee dat U would score (go ask those PES gurus wu played Fifa and got thrashed). Scoring alone has its technique (how long U press the button, direction and control of d ball). Fifa simulates what's real; PES makes U feel like a Superhero. Its all about preferences but for me; its FIFA all the way. Lest I forget; Fifa 13 is d highest selling soccer game of all time; dat should count for somethin!!!
PhonesMy Airtel Complaint by simiolu1(op): 4:52pm On Aug 24, 2013
As an Airtel subscriber, I have been loyal and faithful to the network since I started using its services in 2006. However, I am dissatisfied with the way the company has found ways to cheat subscribers out of their hard-earned money.
When the operator came out with new packages such as Simply Smart, Simply Smooth, Simply Special, Joli Padi, Joli People, Joli Yonder and more recently Club 10; it started viral advertising campaigns to urge subscribers to migrate to the new plans which offered reduced call tariffs, free monthly sms and loads of other freebies to which the subscribers responded en masse.

However, the Operator has migrated many subscribers to a new plan without the subscribers’ knowledge and consent. When I called customer care to ask the tariff plan I was on; the customer care agent (who also happened to be a lady) told me I could migrate to my old Club 10 tariff plan if I so wished. When asked why I was migrated to a new package without my consent; I was told it was done automatically by the network because I was a “high-value” customer. I believe she said this to make me feel good.

After talking to numerous Airtel subscribers like me; I discovered that very little knew the tariff plan they were actually on. They simply recharged, called, texted and performed other transactions on their line without knowing if they were undercharged, overcharged or not even charged at all.
The issue here is quite fundamental; only subscribers have the power to determine the tariff plan that suits their needs. The decision does not belong to any computer or Operator as the case may be.

Also, Airtel has started advertising campaigns for the “Bid and Win Promo.” To win an item up for bidding, subscribers need to bid for the item by sending in their bids without the naira sign to 3210 which is charged at 10 naira per sms. The peculiarity of this bid process is that bids are limited to just two decimal places e.g 5.67.However, only the “LOWEST AND UNIQUE Bid” wins the prize.

The definition of “lowest” I believe is known to all. However, what does the Operator mean by UNIQUE? If “Unique” means no other bidder must bid the same amount; then it’s a pure scam because the probability of that happening is very slim! This is because no number is unique! All numbers are serial starting from negative infinity to positive infinity.
Its high time relevant authorities look into these issues which infringe on the subscribers’ freedom to choose how he or she is billed for using a network’s services. Also, Airtel should come forward to define what they mean by “LOWEST AND UNIQUE BID” to its subscribers. Thank you!

PoliticsRe: Adeboye Doesn't Comment On National Issues To Avoid Influencing People by simiolu1(m): 12:31am On Jun 03, 2013
mbulela: Another problem is the role of pastors and traditional leaders; they have killed Nigerians. I cannot point to one pastor that have ever spoken and galvanised people. If pastor so and so can galvanise five million people at crusades, should it not occur to him that he can say something about what is going on? So the human right movement had had its time. There is a time for everything, that opportunity that opened was our time. It will not repeat itself because when politics came, the politicians immediately took the space. Then the politicians have discovered that being in bed with traditional rules and pastors is the most effective anti-dote to keeping the people quiet. If six or seven pastors that I know decide to shake Nigeria, there would be some difference.

If you have Tunde Bakare in many places, I think there would be some difference. But everybody is keeping quiet, all buying jets, enjoying themselves, flying around, there is no difference, they are close friends to the politicians, where do you think the revolution will come from? The revolution is always organised.

People are frozen by different emotions, most by fear. So what we need to do is to defreeze them. We have one hundred and sixty million Nigerians frozen. We need three or four people of diverse backgrounds to defreeze them, but the most powerful now is the religious leaders. They are the ones who can say to Nigerians, common, all right; we will do a, b, c, d, but they are not doing it. They are not. If we can appeal to the pastors, they should stop taking money from their congregation, and challenge government because we know what they are doing. We know it, even though I am a catholic, I know what is happening. What is happening is that the pastors have gone haywire. You know it yourselves and they are making a fortune. If the civil societies are unable to do anything, traditional rulers are unable to do anything, labour is unable and the religious societies are unable to do anything, that’s unfortunate. Revolution is not caused by one mass revolt, it is caused by those who feel aggrieved and have the power to mobilise. But if those who have the power to mobilise are themselves immobile, then we are in for big problem. In any society, ninety percent of the people are neutral, but once they are galvanised, like Martin Luther King galvanised them, they will move. The seeming peace and quiet is not to say that people are not angry, otherwise, most polls I read show that people are not feeling good about themselves.

The message is, let the pastors use the pulpit to galvanise, rather than making money.

I had to go dig out this comment from an interview Mr. Agbakoba granted the Guardian last Sunday where he was appraising our democracy after 14 years. I found the analysis very apt. While i feel the likes of the GO and and Oyedepo have failed us and Bakare is no saint as some of his comments are often crude and sensational,I wish we had more of his kind and a few more of the likes of Sam Adeyemi and Tony Rapu who are making concerted efforts to create a paradigm shift in the kind of followers that the polity produces.
In all our Religious leaders have let us down big time.
Best comment so far... (Personal Opinion)

All photographers use Adobe (Lightroom, Photoshop or Photoshop Elements) but to make the Engine (the Adobe software) more powerful, we incorporate Plug-in(s). Plug-in(s) are photo-editing tools which can be incorporated into the Adobe softwares (Photoshop, Lightroom or Elements) but can also work as standalone softwares. The most common ones are Imagenomic (Portraiture, Noiseware and Realgrain). But be very careful, the more Plug-in(s) you have, the more RAM Adobe (Photoshop, Lightroom or Element) would consume.
I'm thinking laboratory coats are meant to be hung and kept in the laboratory?

Why should students be allowed to take it home in the first place?

That being said, didn't the student that were sent home know that it is mandatory to go inside the lab with laboratory gowns?

The accident is very unfortunate but I don't think it is the pregnant woman's fault.... Beating a pregnant woman is barbaric and callous.

Burning your university down in anger isn't also a smart idea either. You end up disrupting your education and prolonging your graduation date.

As youths, we have to think and reflect before taking any actions.

Overall, I blame it on our lackadaisical approach toward how we run our system.

RIP the dead.
To set the records straight, I am a Ladokite (500L) and I followed the protest yesterday. Truly, the pregnant woman was doing her job. But when a student rushed into the Lab to break news about the dead student that dies on the spot, she allegedly told all the students in the Lab to stay put else they would forfeit the marks of the practical and that no make-up would be organized. She further went on to say that the student's death was none of her business and that "she was only doing her job!"

It was her lack of sympathy that enraged the students as the dead girl just arrived from home on Sunday. It was later that the second person died.

Now, no school properties were destroyed and only 2 cars got burnt (one belonging to the drunk driver and the other that was meant to tow the car). To create bonfires, tires were burnt.

Finally, the grievances of the students is more than the issue of the dead student (s).

1. No graduating student of Lautech can have a certificate as the Vice Chancellor is an Acting Vie Chancellor.

2. There has been no convocation ceremony in School for the past 3 years as an Acting VC cannot convocate students.

3. Student portal has been closed by the school authorities since March 17 and many students haven't paid their fees.

4. Ladokites want a VC not an Acting VC.

To cap it all, lecturers were even supposed to have embarked on a 1-week sit-at-work strike so students were even not supposed to be in school but that was not the case as some departments held lectures.
PhonesRe: iPhone5 Or Samsung Galaxy S3: Which Is Better? by simiolu1(m): 2:56am On Mar 29, 2013
Didn't want to comment b4 but had to to set some records straight.
1. Americans are blind followers of Apple (dey came out en mass to celebrate Apple's victory over Samsung in Carolina) so it'd be unfair to judge Samsung's success on the North American market alone.
2. Samsung S3 won CNET's device of 2012 while PC Mag gave the award to iPhone 5 (those mags are all about the opinion of the writers).
3. Don't compare S3 to iphone 4. Even d S2 beats d iphone 4 and 4s in speed tests.
To d crux of d matter
S3 has sold more units dan iphone 5.
S3 has a better quad-core processor wich is superior to iphone 5's dual core
Iphone 5 handles gamin better and displays colors better.
S3 has more customizable features dan d iphone.
Iphone 5 has a wack map!
The choice is urs really; @ least its ur money
But wen iphones and galaxies are being compared, blackberries should bow!

PoliticsRe: Petrol Tanker Falls At Ogbomoso (Pictures) by simiolu1(m): 1:59am On Mar 26, 2013
As a ladokite, I still thank God that no casualties were recorded. Wen I was goin to school, all road users avoided General because of d tanker.
But still, that is not enough safety precaution or emergency procedure. People should have been evacuated and the area cordoned.if there had been any explosion, plenty lives would have been lost.
And to the few people who had guts to go scoop petrol, I personally think they should be arrested for endangering the lives of others!
Now I know d govt has no other option than to finish construction of Oyo-Ogbomoso axis of the Ibadan-Oyo-Ilorin rd.
Nairalanders, please don't tribalise this... A fool is a fool irrespective of tribe; those few people who went to scoop petrol are fools!
