When it comes to buying a system (as in ur case) forget all the brands U know. Ur first constraint is ur budget and getting a brand new system with all the things U want is quite dicey. Most new laptops in that range do not have some tweaks that U may desire. I personally think U should look at some conveniences like backlit keyboard; baterry life and processor speed (the frequency at which the processor clocks i.e 1.7; 2.1, 2.4 Ghz etc) as this is what would ultimately determine processor speed. U just cant compare two different core i3s one with 1.7Ghz and d oda with 2.4 Ghz. The latter would definitely b faster. Right now; Lenovo produce rugged laptops with strong battery life. Asus is like the Apple of Windows Machine. Their devices are American specs. Dell is good too; I currently use an Inspiron N4050 and apart from a speaker that vlc busted while my bro was watching Thor 1; I haven't had issues with the system. My elder bro uses a Toshiba core i7 and with 100% battery; I would play 5 PES 14 games b4 the battery dies. And if U wanna buy used ones; I'll advice that U buy from ebay and ship into the country |
rawhide: Mods pls these are d types of topics that need to be on front page.please do d needful.Yeah; we are improving. But there is still much to be done. NCC should force these ISPs to work more on their QoS rather than just expanding. |
Ikengawo: a mix of good editing and smart use of the camera and it's possible. The average smartphone camera is just as powerful as these 'professional' cameras you see everywhere. the only reason the professional by those cameras is because the uninformed public doesn't know better and will assume you're not serious if you're using a smart phone. Some of the best movies in the history of man were shot on cameras that are inferior to your average black berry cam, any model.obviously, U think I am uninformed. But I'll show U how informed I am & try educate U in d process. An average Dslr has 9 focus points; while professional ones have up to 64! Focus points tell d camera wat 2 blur & wat to focus. In dslrs, d focus points can be altered manually. Smartphones don't allow such freedom. Notice how d focus switched from d guy to d girl while still achieving depth of field? That isn't good editing; that's a good camera at work & it's not a phones. U also tried to put dslrs and phone cameras on d same pedestal; U goofed there. U see, phone cameras utilize digital zoom; dslrs use d lens. D smartphones wit d best cameras are sold for btwn 500-700 dollars while d average dslr starts from 700 dollars. Infact, d 7d which Canon launched in 2009 still sells for close 2 1,200 dollars for a new one while d Mark 5d3 (a full frame camera) launched dis year sells for like 3k dollars. U talked about d best movies of all time. U forget that those movies were shot wit d best gears available in those days. So even then, they were d best. N.B: Dslrs are primarily manufactured 2 take fotos. Their video capabilities are just secondary. I'll save d talk on video cameras for another day. Hope u get my drift bro; and to think I warned pipu not to quote my post and talk poo |
speedyboi: That is not a Blackberry torch camera. No 'Phone' camera can achieve Shallow depth of field YET.No phone camera has the ability of dynamic focusing found in dslrs and the likes. Even when takin photographs; phone cameras do not allow u d pleasure of defining focus points let alone switch focus between movin objects. Even the lumia 1020 can't do that yet.and for those that would quote my post and talk poo; pls b informed that Samsung has just started toying with the idea of image stabilization on phone cameras. |
nora544: I know him also what he write he is also in the fake seed sowing, has God a money printing machine. Please drop ur e-mail address. I'll send U d messages. God doesn't have a money printin machine because God didn't even invent or create money in the first place. Money is man's creation but God has something better than money & that is value. He deposited some of that value in2 U wen He created U so that it (the value) can be used to make money! I bet it sounds strange... Listen to Real Money Series by Sam Adeyemi; I can guarantee U that ur eyes will be opened! |
nora544: I know from what i speak because all this so called great man of god have learned from the pastors of this new churches in america but i have to tell you that nigerian pastors are better what they telling to their stupid followers, and when they are brainwashed it is easy to keep them.Bros/Sis... Please I take God beg you, go buy, download or borrow "Real Money Series (1-4) by Pastor Sam Adeyemi. If you can't get access to any of the messages, kindly drop ur e-mail address and I'll send them to U. |
Leward: i have afew things to tell you Mr enlightened intellectual.God bless U! I opened d thread expectin 2 c it written in black and white that Pastor Adeboye mentioned Sis Linda's name but I clearly didn't. D Op has successfully put words into d man's mouth & gullible nairalanders have not taken time out to actually read wat was posted b4 commenting. Adeboye has grown mindful of his speech since he realised that many "smart" people want to use his words against him. These same people forget that Adeboye has a brilliant mind that has become very wise by overseeing a church as big as the RCCG. People should objectively read and understand every Op's thread b4 postin poo My 2 cents |

Back then in 2002/03, my classmates like Kayode, Sessi, Mariam etc would bring printouts of Passions (A soap opera showin on AIT) to school. They always said they got d stuff from d internet & dat me too can surf d internet @ a cafe. So I went on my own one day to go and read Passions. I tot that Passions would magically appear after typing in d ticket. To my amazement, it was Super Mario dat I saw on d screen. So I patiently sat and waited for d Passions to pop-up. D cafe attendant noticed that I was just sitting there doin nothin. So she came to me to ask wat d prob was. I proudly told her I was waitin for Passions to appear. Na so she and oda people 4 d Cafe start to laff me. In d end, d time I bought expired and I didn't read my Passions. I left d cafe vowin never to go back. But my curiosity got d better of me & today without goin to any computer school, I have improved dramatically. |
Ms Nas: 1993. Our school got some new PCs, those types that had bulky backs and vertical CPUsPlease help me with d name of where U did ur courses. I wanna get a certification in Ethical Hackin too |
Flirtyfemi: "The event was a success but I observed they had two Alaga Ijoko for the event, one from the brides side and another from the grooms side which I feel was a huge mistake because along the line they has issues, they both argued at some point and the grooms family was rigorously tasked at several points. See all the colorful photos http://www.kemifilani.com/2013/12/more-colorful-photos-from-rmds-sons.htmlThere can't be two Alaga Ijoko. Its neva done. One is Alaga Iduro (bride's family MC) while d oda is Alaga Ijoko (groom's family MC). The downside of it is that d Alaga Iduro over-taxes the groom and his family |
After the internet got shut down in Egypt during the Arab spring. A systems analyst in USA was asked if the internet can be shut down in the United States...his response was the United States cannot get disconnected from the internet cos USA is the internet. Rather the world getting cut off from the internet. The USA doesn't need to be on that list.
Bro, we talkin about internet speeds not ACCESS to the internet; they are two different things |
enigmagu1: u.s no de d list?Funny/weird isn't it ![]() |
We know how many of us are struggling to find the perfect Internet connection with a good speed. Well, it’s altogether a different story in many countries where the internet is blazing fast on a normal speed as well. Here is the list of countries with the fastest internet connections based on Akamai’s State Of The Internet report, though you might find it unbelievable that some countries are missing. 1. Hong Kong – 65.1Mbps Maintaining its position as the country with the fastest internet, Hong Kong is still the no. 1 on the list with peak speed of 65.1Mbps. Although this is 0.9 per cent fall as compared to past quarter, but it is a 32 per cent growth as compared to last year. 2. South Korea – 53.5Mbps South Korea gains two spots to secure the No. 2 spot this time with its peak internet speed of 53.3Mbps. The speed shows a growth of 19 per cent over the past quarter and 14 per cent over last year. 3. Japan – 48.8Mbps Loosing one place Japan now sits on third position with highest speed of 48.8Mbps. This is an increase of 3.1 per cent compared to the previous quarter and 21 percent compared to last year. 4. Romania – 47.5Mbps On No. 4 is Romania with 47.5Mbps highest speed. This is a 0.6 per cent growth over the previous quarter and a 23 per cent growth over 2012. 5. Singapore – 45.6Mbps On fifth spot rests Singapore, with maximum speed of 45.6Mbps. This is a brilliant growth of 61 per cent over last year and 4.1 percent over last quarter. 6. Latvia – 44.6Mbps Rolling down one place Latvia stands on No. 6 with its peak internet speed of 44.6Mbps. This is an increase of 5.4 per cent since the last quarter and 33 per cent from last year. 7. Switzerland – 41.4Mbps Switzerland holds the seventh spot on the list with its top speed of 41.4Mbps. This translates into a rise of 3.9 per cent in past quarter and 38 per cent over the past year. 8. Israel – 40.1. Mbps Yes we are not kidding, despite the country was not there in the top 10 last quarter, Israel this time secured the eight spot with its top speed touching 40.1Mbps. This is a 53 per cent growth over last year and 6.4 per cent compared to the preceding quarter. Unbelievable isn’t it Culled from http://techwarrior247./ |

abdulmujib salv: what religion even endorse alcohol, shame on such religion, who told you alcoholism is human right,so prostitution sud be human right too, anyway some people are clamouring for homosexuality, how much more alcohol, shame on all of you,any state, entity or individual that support alcoholism sud know that he has supportted thuggery, robbery, prostitution, kidnapping, corruption, abortion, any vices, name it. I LOVE MY DEEN.There is a difference between consuming alcohol and being an alcoholic! Mind U, alcohol is sometimes prescribed for some ailments. Finally, ALL men are created equal! So every1 has a right to choose wat he or she believes. And U're even talking in d context of religion; did U pause to think about people who choose to believe that there is no God? Yes, we should uphold morals but at the perils of the fundamental human rights of Nigerians in the Nigerian Constitution? Nay! Believe what U want as a Muslim. Let the Xtian, Buddist, Judaist, Atheist, Traditionalist etc believe whatever they want too; but LET all be equal before the LAWS of the land! |
baba11: A n gba adie lowo iku,o ni ki won je ki oun lo si aki tan lo o je meaning we are refraining a chicken from death and it said they should allow her to go to dump site to eat - Yoruba proverb. In this state,i don't think anybody is above the law as it's enshrined in the constitution(shari'ah),so they should all abide by it.Secondly, what do you want to gain with the consumption of alcohol, nothing except to show 'class'.In the long run,it has serious adverse effects like kidney failure. If govt did not banned and destroyed it,i don't think anybody in his/her right sense should go near it.If it's good for your health, why the partial ban - DRINK RESPONSIBLY!!!#bewiseall.Like seriously SMH cos U have a totally screwed up idea of what human rights are! Lest I forget, ur second point implies that ALL who consume alcohol aren't in their right minds. The issue is a constitutional one: Did d Gov break ANY Nigerian law in destroying those alcoholic drinks? Not a RELIGIOUS or MORAL debate. This isn't a Christian vs Muslim thing mind U. Cos Christianity DOESN'T support consumption of alcohol too. |
Leave them jawe... It's none of our business |
1. A newly married couple about to kiss 2. Make-over of a bride 3. A guy singing with so much passion |
Darkaengel: I have read every post on this topic and all I can say is for all those supporting ASUU God go punish you. For those who understand that ASUU is looking for ways to enrich themselves God bless you. Have they discussed how they will be accountable for the trillions they asked for? They just want money money money. This same half baked lecturers who make huge grammatical errors believe all the teaching equipments will solve their problems right? It means they are the major problem of education in Nigeria. As a chess player, I know what it means to have an upper hand & use d advantage U have 2 force ur opponent to make tough choices. No one is supportin ASUU; we're just sayin dat d FG should give ASUU a reason 2 trust them by SIGNING d agreement wit all parties involved. D office of d Attorney General should sign so dat ASUU wld b able 2 drag d FG b4 d Supreme Court IF/WHEN d agreement is not honoured. D Finance Minister is signing 2 let ASUU know that d FG has enough money 2 honour d agreement. D Governor of d CBN is signing to make sure dat d FG would make d money available through d CBN to d relevant parties. D FG itself is signing 2 make sure d agreement is legally binding on d FGs part. If the FG is very sincere as it claims to be, den signing d dotted lines isn't and never will be a hard job! Lest I forget, if d lecturers are half-baked as U claim, and dey are graduates of dis same University system, den isn't it logical dat d system needs to be revamped? Or don't U want better lecturers teaching ur children (when U eventually have)? BTW, I am a 500 level student dat has only a semester to go. My post-final exam plans have been altered in ways U can't imagine & I'll have 2 pay for another year's rent for my hostel that I never budgeted for! So don't come here raining curses cos God already knows wu to punish. Capeesh? Comprende? Do U understand? (Cos if U don't, den U're part of y ASUU is striking in d first place!) |
TeNDuLKaaY: Was the CBN governor, NLc chairman, and attorney general involved in negotiations?. Why sign something you know nothing of?When a Public Office holder signs an official document, he/she does so in his/her official capacity. Sanusi's signature is on Naira notes not because of d person he is but because of his office. So ASUU asking d Attorney General, FG, NLC, TUC, Finance minister and other parties to sign just means its the offices of these people that endorses d agreement as genuine. If U have ever had a Corporate client in whatever biz U do, then U would know that multi signatures on contracts are very common. ASUU is just trying to tie d FGs hand. Those guys are very good negotiators |

After showin up for an appointment @ Oriental Hotel extension very early around 7am, d person I was supposed to meet didn't show up. So I decided 2 go c some1 else @ Oregun. As I wanted 2 alight from d bus at Oregun, my chinos trousers tore! I was in an industrial area and there were no tailors around. I didn't even bother 2 cover it cos it was too much to cover. I proudly went to c my client wu paid me handsomely for d services I was goin 2 render him. People on d street were starin at me but I didn't pay them any mind; I had smiled to d bank dat day and dat was all that mattered to me |
Czarskit: There's actually SC. . . It's similar to SS but it's not. Got a friend who's SC. . . Naija docs said he was AS but when he trvlld he become seriously ill and was crying every now and then that his bones hurt. It was at the hospital that they carried out another test and found out that he's actually SC. . .I think adapting to a new environment like totally makes people with SC very sick. When I relocated to school (Ogbomoso) from Lagos; I used to frequent d Doctor a lot. The nurses would take my temperature and see nothing physically worng with me buh my bones ached like hell. But after adapting to the atmosphere (3yrs later) the attacks became less frequent. It was later that my brothers told me I used to experience bone pains a lot when I was a child and my eldest sister (our first born) told me she thinks I inherited it from my Mum who used to have such attacks frequently. |
Mannylex: @poster there's no genotype SC, the genotype's are;For clarification; I am SC. I was diagnosed when I went for my medicals in my 100Level days. My elder brother is AC. He found out too when he went for his medicals in school (Unilag). Both are rare conditions of the SS variant and they (AC and SC) are both carriers of the sickle cell trait. Therefore, my doctor has given me strict warnings about the genotype of the person I am going to marry. Though SC is a little better than SS; I suffer from frequent bone pains (which some people call Rheumatism) buh it has since stopped since my 300level days. I have to frequently observe some things like drinking a lot of water, eating lots of veggies, and not exposing my body to cold. Because I used to take a lot of pain killers, I developed mild ulcer and when I complained to my doctor, He gave me another set of rules. I don't fall ill regularly nor experience frequent malaria and I have never had typhoid but I still carry the sickle cell trait and I don't want to pass it to my children. Have I answered ur question ![]() |
