BREAKING NEWS: ABU professor,
Hyacinth Mbibu, shot dead in Zaria
The Head of Department of
Surgery, Ahmadu Bello Univeristy
Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria,
Professor Hyacinth Nong Mbibu,
was killed by unknown
assailantson motorcycle this
evening.
The professor was on his way
home after attending to his
patients at the hospital after 8 p.m
when he was attacked.
According to a close associate,
with his death, Ahmadu Bello
University has lost a very
hardworking, impartial professor.
A nurse whom he gave a lift in his
car at the gate of the hospital was
also shot in her arm. She is
presently on admission at the
hospital.
For about eight years now, the late
Professor Mbibu has been among
the coordinators of the West
African College of Surgeons.
Sources at the hospital said that
his students are extremely
saddened by his departure as they
knew him to be a very
compassionate and
hardworkingprofessor.
Prof Mbibu was also a visiting
urologic surgeon, Armed Forces
Hospital, as well as a visiting
lecturer, Usman Dan Fodio
University, Sokoto.
This post has been updated to
indicate that Prof Mbibu was not a
Cameroonian as earlier reported.
He was from Takum in Taraba
State, according to his bioon the
website of the Ahmadu Bello
University.

where akpors had climbed, one
of them said, Oh God, this boy
has escapd again, the secnd one

answer me, on hearin this,
Akpors started laughing at them
and said, hahahahahahaha, even
if you call me from now till

Barring a last-minute change,
Governor Muktar Ramalan Yero
will today present the name of
Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga to the
State House of Assembly for
confirmation as Kaduna State
deputy governor.
Bajoga, 63, is chairman of the
state chapter of the ruling
People’s Democratic Party and a
former Nigerian ambassador to
Poland.
Senior party and government
sources told Daily Trust
yesterday that Bajoga was
endorsed at the PDP caucus
meeting in Kaduna on Saturday.
The meeting was chaired by Vice
President Mohammed Namadi
Sambo, and attended by Yero
and other top-notch party
members.
At the opening of the meeting,
the governor solicited for the
support of the caucus in
choosing the best deputy
governor for the state.
Sources at the meeting told Daily
Trust yesterday that with the
endorsement by the caucus,
Bajoga’s appointment is very
likely to be announced today.
A source close to the Kaduna
Government House told our
reporter that Bajoga was seen in
the past three days attending
various meetings with Yero and
other top party leaders. This, the
source said, was preparatory to
his appointment as deputy
governor.
Bajoga’s endorsement was
coming a week after the death
of Mr Patrick Yakowa in a
helicopter crash in Bayelsa State.
Meanwhile, the Coalition of
Concerned Southern Kaduna
Professionals has opposed the
selection of Bajoga as deputy
governor.
“We are against the selection of
Nuhu Audu Bajoga, present state
chairman of PDP as Deputy
Governor nominee from
Southern Kaduna area, because
it is a calculated plot to deprive
the Southern Kaduna area from
holding the PDP state chair that
is of immense political value and
significance,” the group said in a
statement jointly signed by Dr.
Kyari Yates and Dr. John
Danfulani.
“It is also in the spirit of
renewed political enslavement of
our people using such a divisive
and sinister Greek gift. There are
more qualified youthful and
competent Southern Kaduna
politicians and professionals
who fit into role expected of a
sound deputy governor in all
means.”
They added: “We are declaring
our total resistance of this
action, as part of thee
encroaching political extinction
of our people via the promotion
of ‘gerontocracy’ and complete
sidelining of Southern Kaduna’s
younger generation and the
institutionalization of Northern
Kaduna over lordship over our
people.”
“This act of imposing a 63 years
old man would not have been
conceived in good faith since
the man, Nuhu Bajoga, would be
too old to aspire for the office of
the governor at the expiration of
the present administration--this
will ultimately scuttle our
chances of piloting the affairs of
the state in alternate manner as
required by the principle of fair
play,” the group said.

Akpors went to a bar to relax
his nerves this
sunny afternoon.
While at the bar Akpors
shouted and said to
the barman; "Give me a bottle
of small stout
and give
everybody here 2 bottles of
big stout let
them enjoy because when I
drink stout,
everybody drinks stout." The
barman obeyed
people in the bar started
hailing Akpors while
sipping on their free drinks.
Akpors ordered again:

At this
juncture everybody cheered
and hailed
Akpors louder.
After some minutes again
Akpors said:

while i eat. The
barman obeyed.
They were so happy and
heaped praises on Akpors
while they ate and
drank.
About an hour later, they were
shocked to
the marrow when Akpors
beckoned on the
Barman and said to him;
"Bring me my bill
and also give everybody here
their bill too
because when I pay my bill,
everybody will
pay their bills too!

Reports say that a suicide
bomber, Saturday,
attacked telecom service
provider, Airtel’s office in
Kano.
The office is located
within the Business
District, opposite Malam
Kato Square in the
metropolis.
It is not immediately
clear how the bomber
gained entry into the
heavily fortified Airtel
headquarters that has
been under the protection
of combat-ready JTF
officials.
Thought casualty figure is
sketchy, but report says
the multi-million naira
headquarters is still in
flames.
Efforts made to reach the
JTF spokesman, Captain
Ikediche Iweha, were
unsuccessful as he did not
respond to calls to his
phone.

very beautiful girl sitting beside
me. She was shading and was not
looking up. Through the help of my
long neck, i peeped and checked
her work, she was in number 65, i
was still in number 21 and time
was running. I quickly thanked
God and started shading along
with her. We got to number 98
together, suddenly, she looked up,
caught me and shouted in a low
tone; What are it? Why is you
copying me? Chameless copycatter.
I quickly cried out; I amfinished,

Facebook's photo-sharing service Instagram has moved to deny that it has changed its privacy policy to give it the right to sell users' photos to advertisers without notification.

It said instead that users had incorrectly interpreted its revised terms of serviced, which it blamed on its "confusing" choice of language. Instagram's clarification follows much user opposition to the believed change. "To be clear: it is not our intention to sell your photos," it said. Instagram chief executive Kevin Systrom said in a blog posting: "It is our mistake that this language is confusing. "We are working on updated language in the terms to make sure this is clear." Compulsory changes to Instagram's terms of service are due to come into effect on 16
January, The originally proposed new wording that caused the controversy included: "You hereby grant to Instagram a non-exclusive, fully paid and royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable,
worldwide license to use the content that you post on or through the service."

The terms also stated that "a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos, and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you." Following Instagram's denial, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a US pressure group that campaigns for consumer rights on websites and in social media, told the BBC that "there appeared to be a little bit of a word game at play here". "It clearly looked like Instagram was indeed grabbing the extra rights," added spokesman Parker Higgins. "It is hard to evaluate the damage this may cause to the company at this early stage, but any social network risks losing the trust of its users. And social networks depend on users being willing to share information, on users seeing them in good terms."

Facebook bought Instagram for $1bn (£616m; 758m euros) in April of this year. Instagram now has 100 million users.
