Another inspiring inspirational
story.... A must read!!!!
The seed of honesty:
A successful business man was
growing old and knew it was
time to choose a successor to
take over the business.
Instead of choosing one of his
Directors or his children, he
decided to do something
different.
He called all the young
executives in his company
together.
He said, “It is time for me to step
down and choose the next CEO.
I have decided to chooseone of
you.”
The young executives were
shocked, but the boss
continued. “I am going to give
each one of you a SEED today –
one very special SEED. I want you
to plant the seed, water it, and
come back here one year from
today with what you have
grown from the seed I have
given you. I will then judge the
plants that youbring, and the
one I choose will be the next
CEO.”
One man, named Jim, was there
that day and he, like the others,
received a seed. He went home
and excitedly, told his wife the
story. She helped him get a pot,
soil and compost and he planted
the seed
Everyday, he would water it and
watch to see if it had grown.
After about three weeks, some
of the other executives began to
talk about their seeds and the
plants that were beginning to
grow.
Jim kept checking his seed, but
nothing ever grew. Three
weeks, four weeks, five weeks
went by, still nothing. By now,
others were talking about their
plants, but Jim didn’t have a
plant and he felt like a failure.
Six months went by — still
nothing in Jim’s pot. He just
knew he had killed his seed.
Everyone else had trees and tall
plants, but he had nothing. Jim
didn’t say anything to his
colleagues, however… He just
kept watering and fertilizing the
soil – He so wanted the seed to
grow.
A year finally went by and all the
young executives of the
company brought their plants to
the CEO for inspection.
Jim told his wife that he wasn’t
going to take an empty pot. But
she asked him to be honest
about what happened. Jim felt
sick to his stomach, it was going
to be the most embarrassing
moment of his life, but he knew
his wife was right.
He took his empty pot to the
board room. When Jim arrived,
he was amazed at the variety of
plants grown by the other
executives. They were beautiful
— in all shapes and sizes.
Jim put his empty pot on the
floor and many of his colleagues
laughed, a few felt sorry for
him!
When the CEO arrived, he
surveyed the room and greeted
his young executives.
Jim just tried to hide in the back.
“My, what great plants, trees,
and flowers you have grown,”
said the CEO. “Today one of you
will be appointed the next CEO!”
All of a sudden, the CEO spotted
Jim at the back of the room with
his empty pot. He ordered the
Financial Director to bring him
to the front.
Jim was terrified. He thought,
“The CEO knows i’m a failure!
Maybe he will have me fired!
When Jim got to the front, the
CEO asked him what had
happened to his seed – Jim told
himthe story.
The CEO asked everyone to sit
down except Jim. He looked at
Jim, and then announced to the
young executives, “Behold your
next Chief Executive Officer! His
name is Jim!”
Jim couldn’t believe it. Jim
couldn’t even grow his seed.
“How could he be the new
CEO?” the others said.
Then the CEO said, “One year
ago today, I gave everyone in
this room a seed. I told you to
take the seed, plant it, water it,
and bring it back to me today.
But I gave you all boiled seeds;
they were dead – it was not
possible for them to grow. All of
you, except Jim, have brought
me trees and plants and flowers.
When you found that the seed
would not grow, you
substituted another seed for the
one I gave you. Jim was the only
one with the courage and
honesty to bring me a pot with
my seed in it.
Therefore, he is the one who
will be the new Chief Executive
Officer!”

Health» SUICIDAL! Pregnant Woman Swallows 51 Wraps Of Cocaine by simongonner(op): 12:18pm On Aug 01, 2012
*Two other women also in
NDLEA net for concealing
hard drugs in panties,
brassiers and hair wigs
By ALBERT AKPOR
THERE couldn’t have been a
much more suitable
adjective to describe the
action of a middle-aged
woman who threw caution
to the winds and swallowed
an astonishing 51 wraps of
cocaine for inexcusable
reason of poverty than to
describe it as ‘suicide’.
The 38 year-old woman
from Oduma in Enugu State
who resides in Brazil gave
her name as Mbechi
Obiageli Susan. She was
arrested at the Nnamdi
Azikiwe International
Airport, Abuja, on her way
from Sao Paulo, Brazil, by
operatives of the National
Drug Law Enforcement
Agency, NDLEA, with the aid
of a scanning machine.
Though the woman has
since pleaded poverty for
her action, chairman of the
anti-narcotic agency,
Ahmadu Giade, was quick to
disagree with her claim on
the ground that there were
several other credible
means of earning a living.
Illicit drug trafficking
Giade said: “Poverty is far
from an excuse for anybody
to take to illicit drug
trafficking. There are many
other ways of making a
living without breaching the
law. Apart from offending
the law, did she think about
the danger inherent in
ingesting hard drugs as a
pregnant woman? This is
why we shall continue to do
our best to provide enabling
environment to fight this
menace that is fast
assuming frightening
dimension.”
While the case of Susan was
still being analysed, two
other women, Ms. Obiakor
Maryann Okwudili and Ms.
Anene Blessing Iruoma
allegedly walked into the
agency’s dragnet also at the
same airport with a much
more larger quantity of hard
drugs which later tested for
Methamphetamine smartly
concealed in their
customized panties,
brassiers and hair wigs.
Though the women tried to
outwit NDLEA operatives,
they were, however,
betrayed by their body frisk;
and that attracted the
attention of airport security
officials who suspected that
there must be more to their
gorgeous looks. Upon
profiling too, the duo who
hail from Nando and
Igbariam in Anambra State
respectively were
discovered to have
concealed the illicit drugs in
their underwears and hair
wigs.
They were both on their
way to Malaysia via Cairo
and attempted to board an
Egypt airline flight. They too
blamed poverty for their
woes. The drugs weighed
4.5kgs.
Commenting on the arrest,
Abuja airport commander of
NDLEA, Mr. Hamisu Lawan,
said he was shocked at the
escalating rate of women’s
involvement in criminality
especially illicit drug
trafficking. Though he
commended his men for
their exceptional
performance, he also
expressed gratitude to
airport security officials for
their alertness and
collaboration.
Hamisu said: “The drugs
were detected during
routine screening of
passengers. The suspects
are helping narcotic officials
in our investigation. I
commend the level of
cooperation among security
agencies at the airport. I
also thank the management
of the Federal Airport
Authority of Nigeria, FAAN,
for their significant role in
these arrests.
“Miss Anene Blessing hails
from Igbariam in Anambra
State with passport number
A03660604. She was found
to be wearing a customized
brassier, pants and hair wig
all stuffed with substances
which tested positive for
methamphetamine
weighing 1.7kg. Ms Obiakor
Maryann Okwudili, age 34,
who hails from Nando in
Anambra State with
passport number
A01444553 was
apprehended on same flight
with Anene.
She too concealed 1.90kg of
methamphetamine in under
wears. The third suspect
named Mbechi Obiageli
Susan, with passport
number A00288396 hails
from Oduma village in
Enugu State. She ingested
900 grammes of cocaine
and was arrested on her
way from Sao-Paulo, Brazil
with the aid of scanning
machines. Mbechi claimed to
be three months pregnant
and during the process of
profiling, she excreted 51
pellets of cocaine weighing
900 grammes.

PoliticsSambo's House Attack: 2 Arrested At Zaria Hospital by simongonner(op): 7:35am On Aug 01, 2012
Two of the three people believed to have attacked the Zaria residence of Vice President Muhammad Namadi Sambo were apprehended by the police on Monday at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika in Zaria.

Confirming the arrest to Daily Trust yesterday, acting public relations officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Abubakar Balteh, said it was nemesis that caught up with the attackers.

An impeccable source at the ABUTH said the attackers were apprehended when they took one of their wounded to the hospital for treatment of a gunshot.

“Two of them (attackers) came to the hospital with a police escort. They were admitted based on the report that the injured person was shot by armed robbers. Unfortunately for them, he was given a bed by the side of the mobile policeman who sustained gunshot injury during the attack on the VP’s house. The policeman immediately recognized him as one of the attackers and he alerted his colleagues and that was how they were apprehended,” the hospital source said.

PoliticsSokoto, Zaria Attacks: Boko Haram Claims Responsibility by simongonner(op): 7:17am On Aug 01, 2012
The Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, also known as Boko Haram, yesterday claimed responsibility for the various attacks launched in Sokoto, Zaria, Bauchi, Damaturu and Maiduguri, saying its fighters would soon start killing women who have been spying on them.
A statement in Maiduguri yesterday by Abul Qaqa, spokesman of the group, said the attacks in some Nigerian cities were meant to avenge the incarceration of members of the group and to also liberate the Nigerian Muslims.

The statement, which was written in Hausa, reads: “All praises go to Almighty Allah. This is a very important message from the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad.

“We wish to extend our profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for giving us the opportunity to fulfill the promise we made on launching spontaneous attacks in Sokoto.

“We are responsible for the attacks in Bauchi and at the residence of Namadi Sambo; the one in Zaria as well as the one in Damaturu where we bombed a patrol vehicle.

“We equally dealt a big blow on JTF operatives in Maiduguri, who out of frustration, went back and killed innocent and defenseless citizens.

“We are also aware of the activities of some women who have been recruited to spy on us. This is a final warning to all of them. By God, whenever we catch any woman spying on us, we would slaughter her like ram
