Thanks to the combined efforts of Simydan (Procurement) and Oshomo12 (Installation), I was able to have my modest setup of:
1050W Canadian Poly panels (3 X 350W) in series at 48K each from @okaniudemba
48V 1.5KW Hybrid inverter with an inbuilt MPPT charger of 60A from Alibaba. ( Low Frequency)
48V 50AH LifePO4 battery with a 7-year warranty from Alibaba.

Pic 1: is showing the neat setup by Oshomo, he pays attention to details, and if he tells you he will be in your place by 5 am, be damn sure he will be there a few mins to that. grin grin...

Pic 2: I did like to also give an empirical power consumption review of the FUSHIAI energy-saving fan I purchased from Simydan(Pic 2 attached). It's a decent 30W rated fan with 3 modes namely: Eco mode, natural wind, and Sleep mode, it can be powered via a US device and it's non-rechargeable.

Pic 3: Shows the power consumption of the device when in rotation and when still.

Disclaimer: I am not DIY savvy cheesy cheesy, but i have been an avid follower of this thread since the early days of George et al., long before the nairaland Tsunami of 2013... grin

@ jmaine

Thanks so much for your understanding, patience and trust...

Thanks bro. I didn't know we have people who deal in LG inverter chest freezers in this country o. I hope they'd be the linear inverter brands of LG.

As for the Haier Thermocool inverter freezer, I'd already deposited half the money for the distributor who will get full payment after delivery which is supposed to this Saturday.

319L for 165k. Nameplate 110 watts. Of course I expect this consumption to be half most time since it'll be running 24/7.
Meanwhile the 40% power saving Haier 203L brand (non inverter freezer) that I currently have spots a 114 watts nameplate consumption and always stays btw 110w to 116w 24/7.

It appears Haier does not have inverter fridges in their line up. Since I already have the contact of the LG guy, a new refridgerator acquisition will be an LG brand - the linear inverter brand.

Congratulations on your new purchase grin grin grin

We await your review on the thermocool inverter chest freezer...

Thanks, however i am not in lagos. Wish you included model numbers, so one can compare prices as i believe prices of LG products should be same across the major LG showrooms nationwide,..

After my last fiasco with a normal LG freezer, i decided not to go near LG freezer again,
Only Lg and Samsung appear to hv inverter fridge to the best of my knowledge. No real life reviews from samsung users, so am forced to consider Lg again

So sorry about your previous experience with LG brand of refrigerator wink

But if you decide to give it a go you can contact him. Trust me his price is very good compare to prices in other store even fuani... He does payment on delivery within Lagos and payment before delivery outside Lagos.

Be sure to discuss warranty policy with him even though warranty in Nigeria is unpredictable, just fulfill all righteousness.

You can check with him on watts app to get the models and pictures

@Ceased, Earthrealm & Any other person interested in Inverter fridge and freezer...

I have been doing my search for some time and came across a seller with LG brand of Inverter fridge and freezers.

As noticed LG inverter freezer are not common at the moment so any body in search for inverter type fridge can visit the store in Lagos as his prices are attractive, from 155k to 170k for double door linear inverter fridge and 198k to 280k for inverter freezer

Here are some of the pictures received from the seller:

Good morning folks! It's really been awhile...
I have been so engaged, so sorry for the long silence.

Regarding my setup which is the main reason for this thread, it has been wholesome. The system as been more engaged now since I changed location so, it was necessary to to reconfigure the installation and increase load...

Don't expect system to over perform because there wasn't any upgrade on the battery or inverter, but like I said there's need to go off grid and see the performance whether it can go 24/7.

For refresher of setup and update of setup and load:

INITIAL SETUP & LOAD:

Setup- 1. 600W pure sine wave inverter (stand alone inverter)
2. 12V 100AH Lifepo4 battery.
3. 14.6V 20A Lifepo4 AC charger.
4. 64A ATS (Automatic Change Over Switch)

Load- 1. 32" led TV - 57W
2. Home theatre - 67W
3. Decoder - 18W
4. Ceiling fan - 20W
5. Refrigerator - 100W

Note: all load don't run simultaneously but prioritised, with refrigerator running once a while for just 2hours Max and home theatre on rear occasions. And back up normally last for 8hrs to 15hrs.

CURRENT SETUP & LOAD:

Setup: 1. 600W pure sine wave inverter (stand alone inverter)
2. 12V 100AH Lifepo4 battery.
3. 14.6V 20A Lifepo4 AC charger.
4. 12/24V 30A MPPT solar charge controller.
5. 2×260W ~ 520W solar panels.

Load: 1. 32" led TV - 57W
2. Home theatre - 67W
3. Decoder - 18W
4. Ceiling fan - 20W (AC)
5. Ceiling fan - 18W (DC)
6. Smart standing fan - 5-30W
7. Refrigerator - 100W
8. 3×3W, 2×6W Led lights and 1×13W energy saver bulb.

As seen system has been upgraded to off grid with two 260W poly solar panels.
So far the system is fine but test still on going due to unstable Sunny days.

System is just over a week and too early to draw conclusions yet. Though system runs with loads like TV, decoder, ceiling fan or both ceiling fans some times and refrigerator which normally goes off by 5pm or when ever there's persistence cloud.

For now AC charger is on holiday and only used on cloudy days or when battery needs top up at night due to bad weather during the day.

So far, it's been very impressive..

Hello House!

Hope every body is doing fine and keeping safe...
Sorry for the long silence, too many engagements and commitments.

Regarding the purpose of this thread which is my system setup. Apart form the setup being successful, it's also very solid and reliable.

Installation date: 6the December last year. Till date the performance is still very outstanding.
Like is said the there's the plan to upgrade the set up to an off grid and see how well it performs on the basis of 24/7 backup.

I finally relocated to a new place and the system is now properly installed with the the house wiring, which means system is now fully engaged.

So far, the load has increased but all loads are still energy efficient.

Current load on system:
32" TV - 57w
Decoder - 18w
Home theatre - 60w
Refrigerator - 100w
1 DC ceiling fan - 18w
1 AC ceiling fan - 20w
1 smart standing fan - 30w
3 led light - 3w
2 led light - 6w
1 energy saver bulb - 13w

Now my load is much and you may wonder how well it sustains on the system? But it's important to note that all this load don't run at the same time and most run in a very short time on the system and with good PHCN supply I have only run out of power for say two to three days within 2months.

The most amazing thing is that, the system is still very fine and the battery power is still the same.

OK! Good news is, the system as been upgraded with a 2 × 260watts solar panel. That's about 520watts in total connected in parallel to my 12v/24v, 30a mppt charge controller.

Upgrade is a week old now but will like to give it time before posting the performance here due to unstable weather condition.

Picture of current setup against the former.

Nexus Freezer -? (I use it with a 2.5kva generator and it runs it conveniently. So it seems energy efficient)
Fan - 55w
Light Points - 5 * 10w LED Bulb ( 50w)
LED TV - 75w
DVD - 25w
GoTV - 8w
Hi-fi System - 50w

N.B: I don't know the wattage of the freezer the energy label is no longer on it.. But I'm open to buy an energy efficient 200L Freezer.. Haier Thermocool or Midea.
Thanks

The wattage of the freezer needs to be stated, you can run an online search for that model or the models you intend to buy to view their spec and power consumption. That will help you make a better purchasing decision.

Also, you need to state your run time for each load to help give you a cost effective quote...

You can get everything you need around here but you need to size your load properly

I strongly want to believe we all are adults here, I really don't see any need for any debate or insults... We should learn to respect other peoples decisions and the choices they make after all every body have reasons for what they do...

Like Mr Niyi have rightly said, his current project is a test as is intended to be sold to clients. For me it makes alot of sense if he test the system and understand it properly and as long as he has the financial capacity to put it up, then that's no big deal.

We all are here to learn and connect with genuine and potential clients and partners...

It's really a plus if we have this kinds of setups and even bigger once for real experience and reference purposes, you never can tell the opportunities that awaits in future.

One thing we most note is that, Niyi's system may not have cost him too much as he may have the opportunity to get things way cheaper than you can imagine.

Let's keep our differences aside and focus on the purpose of this thread and keep enjoying ourselves... cheesy cheesy cheesy

After using for a few weeks, is your present LFP setup performance actually DOUBLE the Lead Acid 300amp 24v performance? I have 4 Monbat 200amps batteries (connected as 24v/200amp) that have been in serious use for 28months and
I am gathering info as I consider replacement soon

In real sense, LFP can provide double capacity than a similar lead acid counterpart in terms of DOD and cycle life. Since most LFP can actually go 2000 cycles at 100% DOD which is over 5years and 5000 cycles at 80% DOD which is close to 15years, I don't think a lead acid battery can withstand that kind of abuse and last that long.

So, while you enjoy from 50%-100% power from your LFP, you can only get 50% from you lead acid to maintain a decent cycle life.

Another thing worth mentioning is that LFP is less space consuming, less weighty, charges fast and can withstand high current draw than a lead acid battery.

Just make sure you invest your money in a good and quality built LFP when going for one just as it's worth investing on high end lead acid. Remember! You get what you pay for. grin grin grin

Finally! I was able to run a full load test on my setup after over two months of installation.

These are the load again:

1. 32" TV=67W
2. Home theatre=65W
3. Refrigerator=100W
4. Decoder= 18W
5. Fan=20W

Total load: 67+65+100+18+20=270W

Setup: 12V 100AH Lifepo4 battery ~ 1200W
600W 12V Inverter.

OK! Test started at exactly 12:00PM
Battery voltage was 13.1V before putting on the load. Battery voltage dropped to 12.9V as soon as all load came up.

All loads run from 12:00PM to 5:00PM and battery voltage was 12.5V. At exactly 5:00PM I removed the Refrigerator and the Home Theatre, now left with TV Decoder and Fan still running.
The system was run without refrigerator and sound system from 5PM to 8PM when I finally shot down the system at shot down battery voltage was 11.1V.

System worked for a total of 8hours with 5hours of full load and another 3hours of regular load.

At this point, I don't need a pro or a guru to say it is a standard backup before I believe.
It is actually, and indeed a standard backup as was the intention for this thread... grin grin grin

With a good solar setup attached to this, system can go with full load during the day and hold up well with minimal load at sundown till the next sunshine with battery within 50% DOD or less.

An ideal solar setup for this system would be nothing less than a quality 600W solar panels and a good mppt CC of 30A or 40A.

For my solar setup I already have a smart 30A mppt CC on standby...

Daly is a very good brand amongst the BMS manufacturers, in fact my battery pack is built with it.

Collecting of cells! Not necessary if you consider it a business and you want to build reputation in it you need to important new cells and other tools to enable you build quality packs.

I agree that putting the lithium consistently at 100% DOD will certainly affect life span in the long run (just as doing 50% lead will as well). However the intention was to give a capacity equivalent else I will actually say the better DOD spot for a lead acid will be 20/30% while that of lithium is good at 70/80%. That way the lead acid may be able to survive up to 75% life span of a lithium. It still won't last the years of a good lithium but should be close.

That said, am curious at your lithium voltage figures, do you mean your batteries actually hold voltage at 4.1v? As that seem like a max charge voltage to me (though I don't even get the high in my case).

He might be using 18650 cells which has a voltage of 3.7V against 3.2V for LFP cells.

So, expect his charging voltage to be higher as nominal cell voltage is higher.

Correct me if I'm wrong sir!

the truth is that most people don't obey the 50% DOD rule for Lead Acid Batteries, a good number of Inverters in the market shut down at 40v for 48v models, which is 10 volt for a 12 v model, this is already way below the 50% DOD target for battery longevity. My point is that its not practical to believe that you need only half your lead acid battery capacity if you are switching over to any Lithium Chemistry. I used 24 pieces of Agisson 2v 500AH (48v 500AH) from 2011 to December 2016 when I switched over to Lithium. for those slightly over 5 years, my battery bank never got below 47.4v. I sold the batteries to a friend who just retired them last December and embraced Lithium also. Lead acid batteries can last a long time if well managed.

I totally agree with you sir! Even a grade B battery can last a bit longer if properly managed. But the problem seem to be with squeezing out more than what a back up is designed to give thereby, leading to abuse of over 50% DOD or a bad setup...

These are the reasons why LFP stands out and consider the a better replacement of lead acid how ever, availability and cost is the major challenge at the moment.
