PoliticallyInco: Move to Canada. In my humble opinion. Biko. That your level 12 salary could be a week's pay in Canada. The beginning will be rough. But you are a Nigerian. You are dogged. Go there have a plan. Get a goal. Take actions to chase it based on the Canadian environment.
The only good thing about the civil service in Nigeria is job security of sorts. And freedom to run a business and work. Please if you can, kindly ignore that stupid conflict of interest rule. It is the most stupid rule of the civil service. They use you for 35 years or so. Then dump you. You have no business experience when and if your gratuity is paid. Your pension/gratuity is of little value to to inflation and loss of value of the naira. So the only good thing is little job security and freedom to run your own business.
In my honest opinion, plan well. Save enough. Improve your skills. And go to Canada. You can also work and run your business. Entrpeneural opportunities are there too and the economy more stable and predictable. Financing is also a possibility with good credit rating.
The Canadian option also better favours your CHILDREN. They have much of a headstart. Especially with the opportunity of being born and raised there. Think about it. Hopefully they won't worry like you now about what to do.
Unless you are not up for the initial stress that comes with this move. Otherwise, look beyond the now and see the future. Talk with your siblings. What are the opportunities? What are your plans and theirs for you? Are you schooling first? Are you working immediately? How much are they willing to support to allow you find your footing?
Have a concrete plan with contingencies. Take the bold step. All things go well you have Canadian Residency and Nigerian Citizenship. You can move between countries whenever you want. OP, take this advice |

My question therefore, "is it wise to stay back since I have gone quite far in my public service career and just wait for the opportunity to transfer my service to a better paying federal parastatal OR do I migrate to Canada and start a new career? the devil and the sea choose where your heart lies... |

kurlz: Stay Faraway from her. Only relate with the son from afar. There are other and older men in the family she should approach them. What nonsense? are the older men not probably married too? |
Family › Re: My Dead Uncle's Wife Needs Children From Me by sircatherine45(m): 9:36pm On May 22, 2020 |
Sixfeetbelle: If you must do this request, involve the elders, at least 3 older men in your family to discuss on this issue and get their acceptance. Tell them what she said, tell them you're interested and let them decide if you're the right man for the job or not.
If you jump over them and do this, you'll be committing a lot of atrocities. First of, her sleeping with a married man is wrong. Second, your child with her won't be seen as your uncle's, which should be the intent behind her request, but as your child and that is adultery; more like betrayal to your uncle.
Whatever you're being advised here must only be done after you get the go-ahead to impregnate her cause even in the olden days, a man was chosen by the elders to impregnate a widow to continue the family's lineage, he didn't do it of his own volition. That's tradition. Follow it. also he must involve hiz wife in this nice advice! |

promotervickky: You are all saying bullshit, I make good money from the Nigeria you people insult, they are others too that makes millions everyday.
I sell Cars, do you know how many people buy cars daily?
Why the rest countries are developed is because you carry the money you made in Nigeria and spend it there.
First they chop you for IELTS Secondly settlement funds! And others. That is why they are leaving their country open for everyone, they just need your money.
Believe in your view of Nigeria if you wish, but don't paint it bad. If it's not working for you, it working for others period. your write up was good... until the last paragraph BTW, i make thousands too in this s**thole Never trust in the Nigerian project It's risky, messy and stinky! |

ProfAmaben: From what I've read, you are ashamed of doing what puts food on your table. Many are looking for your type of job to no avail. Remember to keep that I'm a polytechnic graduate nonsense by the corner. What makes you think that you are better or wiser than those who didn't go to school? I'm presently running a PhD programme and that doesn't stop me from hustling in any form, shape or scope. Hustle hard o, forget about girls now and hustle, keep building your resume with interesting skills while at this job, start dropping your upgraded resume like a mad man to any company you see, who knows when your luck would shine? Some graduates in their skill section would put Microsoft word, excel , typing skills, I would just laugh. What happened to I can analyse data using python data science module such as Pandas and then visualization through matplotlib and Bokeh. This wouldn't even take you up to 2-4weeks to master. Upgrade yourself daily, read, read and read. Can you save some cash and aquire basic shoe making and Pam slippers production machines? Or even attach yourself with a mechanic to learn motor repair or generator repair (Mikano)? Gracias! i use tensorflow and keras to predict stock markets |
