Former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has called on his former aide, Reno Omokri to show more respect to president Muhammadu Buhari.

In a previous report by iDONSABI.com, Reno Omokri had blasted the president for not reacting to the series of attacks that befall the country but will waste no time in reacting to attacks or sad events in other countries.

Reno then proceeded to call president Muhammadu Buhari an “inferiority complex president.”

However, events have now taken a new turn as Reno Omokri has returned to twitter to reveal that he received a peace brokering call from the former president advising him to show more respect and kindness to president Muhammadu Buhari.

A friend of a Nigerian, Mbaneto Sopuluchukwu has taken to social media to blame the Nigerian government for his friend’s predicament.

Sopulu Maneto who is said to be a former student of University of Nigeria Secondary School and also an ex- cadet of the Nigerian army was caught in the Philippines in a failed drug mission.

Sopuluchukwu Mbaneto was among suspects arrested in the Philippines with a N125m worth of drugs.

Sopulu among others was apprehended in a buy-bust operation on Saturday (April 20 2019). The Philippines Dangerous Drugs Act prescribes the death penalty for drug traffickers.

His friend took to his page to blame the Nigerian government for leaving his friend no other option but to push drugs.

A recent study has shown that men who keep beards carry more germs than dogs do on their furs.

According to the research, scientists studied the levels of bacteria lurking in 18 men’s facial hair and those lurking in 30 dogs of different breeds.

“The researchers found a significantly higher bacterial load in specimens taken from the men’s beards compared with the dogs’ fur,” said Professor Andreas Gutzeit of Switzerland’s Hirslanden Clinic.

The study was carried out to ascertain if it was possible for humans to pick up diseases from dogs if they used the same MRI scanner.

However, they found out that men aged between 18 to 76 had high microbial counts while another 7 men had harzadous bacteria. On the other hand, only 23 dogs had high microbial counts. The rest of the dogs had moderate count.

When the MRI scanners were disinfected, researchers found higher levels of bugs after the men had used it.

So the conclusion of the study was that dogs can be considered as clean compared with bearded men, said Dr Gutzeit.

However, in a different study, men with beards were found to be better boyfriends.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to the signing into law of N30,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers by President Muhammadu Buhari, saying is another election promise delivered.

The National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu stated this in a statement on Friday in Abuja, while commending Buhari for signing the new minimum wage bill into law.

Pointing that Nigerian workers truly deserve a new, improved and implementable minimum wage in view of current economic realities, Issa-Onilu said the welfare of workers has remained a top priority of the Buhari-led APC administration.


According to the APC spokesman, this has been demonstrated by the Federal Government’s bailouts to states to pay workers salary and housing schemes for civil servants among other welfare packages in 2018.

While congratulating stakeholders that ensured the achievement of this laudable feat, particularly the National Assembly, state governors, the Amma Pepple-led tripartite committee, labour and trade unions and indeed Nigerian workers, Issa-Onilu said the signing of new minimum wage is another solid demonstration of a President who matches his words with actions.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State governor-elect on Wednesday described as unfounded, reports that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos is already mounting pressures on him on those who will form his cabinet ahead of his inauguration on May 29.

In the last few days, there have been media reports that Sanwo-Olu is in dilemma as the Mandate Movement, the formidable political structure that assisted him to power and the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) are locked in horns over the list of Commissioners and Special Advisers in the incoming administration without the input of the governor-elect.

Some party members also alleged that Bola Tinubu, former Lagos state governor and Sanwo-Olu’s benefactor had directed Rauf Aregbesola, the immediate past Osun State governor to compile the list of qualified party members that would make the cabinet of the governor-elect.

It was also alleged that Aregbesola had already penciled down 40 names purely from the Mandate Movement, a decision that did not go down well with the GAC, the party’s highest decision-making organ.

Another source said another cause of worry for Sanwo-Olu is that former commissioners who have served during the administration of former governors Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola are lobbying to get back on board in the coming administration.

It was rumoured that the development is already unsettling Sanwo-Olu, a thoroughbred technocrat as he is uncomfortable with the crisis playing out between the party leaders.
However, speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Gboyega Akosile, media aide to Sanwo-Olu said his principal is not under any pressure as the talks over the formation of his cabinet are unfounded.

He said Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat are busy day and night with strategists working out the development agenda tagged: Project THEME, which encompasses five pillars of development and will focus on Traffic Management and Transportation, Health and the Environment, Education and Technology, making Lagos a 21st century economy, as well as Entertainment and tourism hub, among others.

According to him “All the rumours are unfounded. It is only natural for people to think that there will be pressures on any governor by party leaders because the governor himself is a product of the people”.

“But I can tell you it is a fallacy. There is no pressure from any quarters. Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu is busy working everyday and night in his office working with his technical and strategy team on how best to effectively break his campaign promises into actionable modules”.

“He alongside his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat are working in synergy to ensure that the good people of Lagos get the dividends of democracy as envisioned in their economic blueprint”.

Couple Kills 12-year old Son Over Witchcraft

A young boy who was abandoned by his parents and maltreated by his aunt, has been remarkably transformed few months after he was rescued by the Akwa Ibom state government.

The boy identified as Master Ubong Promise was stigmatized after being accused of witchcraft and abandoned by his immediate family late last year in Ikot Abasi local government area of Akwa Ibom.

Lagos State Police operatives have nabbed two suspects identified as Saheed Lateef and Julius Augulere, for their alleged involvement in the cult clash that saw five people losing their lives in Alasiya in the Abraham Adesanya area of the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos state on Sunday, April 14th.

The Lagos state Police Public Relations Officer identified asBala Elkana, confirmed the arrest of Lateef and Augulere in a statement, stressing further that an axe with bloodstains was recovered from the suspects where they reside on No. 13 Obodo Street Okeiranla, Langbasa, Ajah in Lagos state.

In addition, Bala Elkana also said that the two suspects had confessed to the crime, further including that the four corpses recovered had machete cuts and had been deposited in a public mortuary for autopsy.

Two N-Power Fraudsters Sentenced To One Year Imprisonment For Impersonation
Justice I.M. Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, capital city of Rivers State. has convicted and sentenced the duo of Sata Owugha Clinton and Bolounmubofa Blessing Soroh to one year imprisonment for impersonation and using the identity of a petitioner to enrol in the Federal Government of Nigeria’s N-POWER Social Welfare scheme.

Both of the convicts, Clinton and Soroh were arraigned by the Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a one-count charge bordering on impersonation under Section 22(3) (a) of the Cybercrimes Prohibition, Prevention Act 2015 and punishable under Section 22(4) of the same Act.

The duo of Clinton and Soroh met their Waterloo when they used the name and identity of Lovedy Chiamaka Uzor to enrol in the welfare scheme and in the process obtained the sum of N360,000 (Three Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira only) from the scheme.

Both of the convicted persons managed to open a bank account in the name of Uzor because investigations had it that she also went in for the scheme, but halted her application at the middle of everything, for fear that the scheme might be a scam.

The convicts then saw this as an opportunity and completed the enrolment processes in the victim’s name, Uzor.
