CelebritiesRe: Beyoncé Knowles Vs. Victoria Beckham - Who Is A Better Dresser? by SisiJinx: 3:27am On Jan 27, 2009
VB looks like a mannequin can't find anything appealing about that and Beyonce's clothes. . . the House of Decrap clothes look like they've been sewn by under the petese tailor.

In short. . . do we have other options? Preferably someone who doesn't come off as trying way too hard??!!  undecided
CultureRe: Not Being To Lagos, a 'bush person'? by SisiJinx: 3:21am On Jan 27, 2009
~Sauron~:
I thunk Lagos n Abuja are the main places to visit in Nigeria.
Ibadan should be the 2nd largest city in Africa but it has to be the dirtiest.
Port Harcourt?? The Niger Delta boys have got the place locked down and it's no tourist attraction unless you are a war mercenary.
Where else?? Kaduna?? Rubbish. . . . . . . .Jos?? Religious war(Holy war Muslims versus Christians)!!!

Not Civilized??!! Bwahahahahaha!! Yeah okay. . . I can see why, After all we don't live in congestion, with everyone everywhere, We've missed out waking up to people yell at each other in the name of talking.

Oh what lovely sights those garbage hills as tall as the Eiffel Tower make and watching disobedience of traffic laws just says CIVILIZATION HERE. . . YOU BERRA RESPECT!!  cool

What's even more astonishing about Lagos, what every nonlagosian should beat themselves up for missing out is people having no respect for your personal space. . . Oh la la! Hubba Hubba! https://l.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons7/8.gif

My first visit ever to Lagos, I was ready to go back home after 2 hrs (we had not even made it to the Cousins' home yet). A few days after we got there, I went to Balogun Market with my Aunt and I almost passed out. How can you be outside and still need air??!! I went home with a bruised shoulder and the worst part. . . every time someone brushed past me, I said "I"m sorry". After the 20th "I'm sorry" and not getting anything in return, I had not choice but to heed my aunt's advice and stopped saying. She told me no one gave a rat's behind if you dropped dead. . . THAT would never happen in Kaduna. EVER!!

Getting on the plane back to KD was the happiest day of my life.  cheesy cheesy

Oh Yeah, how my heart aches because I missed out on Lagos' Brand of Civilization. cry cry

His wife doesn't understand him,
She isn't the woman he married.
They are like strangers in the house,
The only thing keeping them together is their child.
You make him happy.
He comes alive when hes with you.
He wishes he had met you first.
You make him a better man!!

Okay, so what do you propose we do about it? Surely you know calling people useless wastrels is not the way to go.

Using a quality which is common to everyone regardless of tribe, race, color and size as an example of what is wrong with the Yoruba people makes you lose your credibility.

This Topic is better than the last one. . . not the whining one, the one before that.

What happens to free speech?. Is it so difficult to step aside if a particular thread is not worth your time?. Can you give us an insight on what is an intellectual discussion, madame?
Nonintellectual. . . say what.

Negro_Ntns:
Xavier was leading somewhere with his post but I am not sure he stated the objective well.  It seems to me that you are irritated by urban culture and not necessarily Yoruba nationalism.  Your presentation inaccurately misplaced the root of the problem.

Urban culture is a swing and does not discriminate although the gate keepers and runners, based on specific factors, might turn out to be largely of a specific tribe.  Nonetheless, it cannot be attributed as the de facto root principles for these youths' background.

Discuss urban culture and leave Yoruba customs and social values out of it.
This is what many tried to tell him but did he care to listen?
