A student of the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Obed Ejale who is also known as Heavensent, committed suicide after he discovered that the lady he loves does not feel the same way, Siggy reports.

In a goodbye note, the embattled young man expressed regrets to end it all the way he did despite being raised the right way.

Below is the goodbye note he left for his mother.

“To my super woman (Mother) Mama, you really raised me a good kid, you thought me the ways of the word but your not here with me, the world have fccked me, there’s no point living ma, the girl I thought loves me doesn’t give a fcck about me and I can’t really live without her,” he wrote in the heartbreaking note.

Friends and colleagues of the late student penned their farewell note on Facebook to the tragic loss of the student.

Education / Landmark Varsity Accused Of Punishing Students By Not Mobilizing Them For NYSC by Sixsigmahub: 3:31pm On Mar 08, 2022
Update from SIGGY .ng

Disgruntled graduates of Landmark University have accused the college management of witch-hunting after the school reportedly failed to submit their names to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for mobilisation, Siggy reports.

According to the students, the college management purposely failed to upload their names on the NYSC portal as punishment for not attending a programme that was held at the school a day after their convocation ceremony in November 2021.

The students said a majority of them were unable to attend the programme because they were either not aware of it or had left the school premises after their convocation ceremony the previous day. They described the college's decision as ''unfair'' as the programme wasn't mandatory.

They further explained that trouble started when they went for clearance but noticed that those who did not attend the program were not being attended to, and when they asked why, they were told by the senate that they were acting on the vice-chancellor's orders. Three days later, they were eventually attended to and told that the VC had forgiven them.

However, they received the shock of their lives when they discovered that their names didn't come out for NYSC and it was discovered that Landmark University graduates who are currently serving are those who attended the programme and marked their attendance at the end of the programme.

Human rights may frown at this and call it child labour. But all the labour we did for our parents in those days paid off in adulthood.

Not because it's a child. Because it's a female child.

You will never see Lalasticlala and other mods supporting things like this. If the news said she died, it would have made front page very fast.
Mr Mod, I know you are reading this, let's always support goodnews. God will not allow bad news to visit us. Amen.

Exactly what I was saying in the other thread. May God help Nairaland.

Update from

Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) last week protested the ‘No school fees, No examination’ policy imposed by the school management.

The aggrieved students blocked the popular Ikare Akungba-Owo-Akure axis of the Lokoja-Akure road rendering the road users stranded for hours as they placed road blocks and burned tyres on the ever busy express way.

As a result of the protest, the first semester examination which was supposed to hold on Monday was put on hold as no student was able to go to the examination hall to write their papers.

The protest soon turned violent as students were pictured in images and video circulating vandalizing school properties and deflating car tyres of school officials.

In response to this, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Gbenga Ige through the institution’s Registrar Olugbenga Arujulu have ordered the students to evacuate their hostel following the immediate effect.
