If you paid close attention you would have seen the clear direction of the debate. Lagos to Kano is for the FED Government NOT lagos state, Lagos state has their own blue line and red line railway kicking off which is PPP(public private partnership). What i was implying is that East govts if they feel so marginalized should start doing what Lagos has done by working around fed govt.

They have railways in Lagos, Enugu etc before and many of them are still functional even though there are visible amounts of decay. Show me where babapupa and fashola built a new railway in Lagos.

Its a good strategy honestly speaking. In a country like Nigeria they have two things on their side one- those who vote on based on ethnic and religous lines thats how Abiola gained votes.

The funding for these railways come from south east and south south oil wells and you want FG to use it and build railways to nowhere while those that will actually make use of it should figure out a way to build theirs from their allocation. For your information, rail lines run from point A to point B, so its not a question of hey, this project must be cited in my village. Watch the Nigerian govt build that railway from lagos to Damaturu even though the traffic in that route is not up to 1%. The busiest traffic in Nigeria is lagos-Onitsha followed by lagos -Ibadan and people die on these roads in large numbers every year. The FG should first fix the roads to these places before talking about railway. Enough bloodshed.

Maybe you should think before you type. The governments of eastern and southern states should build their OWN railways MEANING privately funded. Private investors as Lagos state did.

I dont doubt what you say but why would this railway need to include the SE, if there is more traffic bewtween PH and Aba, then any other place in Nigeria?
Its better if the Govts of eastern states and southsouth build their own railway, instead of complaining about being marginalized by the fed gov.

Democracy- 1 a : government by the people; especially : rule of the majority

There is no such thing as a Democratic government where  people dont feel marginalized in one way or another. If we had free and fair elections in Nigeria how far would everyone get outside of Governing their own states, people vote based on what benefits them directly, not on whats right or wrong.  Democracy encourages personal benefit and majority rule, the end product will always be marginalization.

I dont know about 2012 but its definately possible in the future.

You seem to not have left your cave cause no where in my post do you see any specific tribe stated. Please tell me how i have not left my village when Lagos is my state of origin my  reasoning in stating PH had nothing to do with any tribe, thats why i stated region. In terms of which places are a good investment for railroads one would automatically think of regions next to Lagos and regions that have the most Unis, hospitals, Tourist attractions maybe the ZOO,water parks etc and places that are closests to Lagos state which just happen to be Edo and the rest of the South.

Lagos state is the capital so it being a yoruba or bini state has nothing to with investments and construting railways. lets stick to the topic. and leave tribes out its getting ridiculous.

The best investments would be from Lagos through Benin and to Calabar, but the north  rest of the south west most like wont approve of it if they're not included, thats what you call being realistic and not a dreamer. Work with what you have

Democracy isn't fair its made by majority decisions and the SE just happens not to be the majority, nor part of it. Dont fret sjeezy wants to create good investments in the SE/SS in the near future(when the tides turn), good business knows no tribe, religion, race, or sex.

I didnt say their isn't business minded people in the SE, I said the whole country/ investors/Govt may think otherwise. Theres no bigotry in it, if you think its a good investment then great.

I think the south south def PH is a good investment, but the SE? If there is anything in the SE why are people leaving it to go to the SS and West? The whole country thinks theres nothing there, until you guys can prove the WHOLE country wrong, i see no reason in why a PRIVATE investor would want to build railway in that region.

Its not a thing of marginalization if most elite SEs dont invest in their home region, you cant expect a FOREIGNER to invest in its development. duh
