Catfish peppersoup na scam, it is just big for nothing. Either buy it fresh or roasted/oven dried. Even the grilled one is somehow but still manageable |
Sighs, just left my system with exasperation. Tried publishing the website but the dimensions shown are different from the workspace dashboard. When I previewed it in the latter, the fonts looked too tiny, should have left it like that if I knew it would be normal in the published version. And figuring out the animations & interactions is taking me a lot of time, I quickly understand how to create them but that process of getting the right timing, ease & smoothness is like further maths, one just has to keep experimenting.

Remains the last 4 pages. Started the whole thing around 11pm. Transferring from figma to webflow is faster, hmmm Getting used to re-using components in webflow.

I like the golden theme |
tecnolad:Noted, thanks. |
fuckboys:Didn't know that, thanks |
tecnolad:It's free right? And what happens if you want to change devices? |
Almost done with my linkedin profile, just need to rewrite the about section. Already updated my resume, applied for some jobs also, used kickresume to sharpaly generate cover letters which I edited to my taste, to blazes with ruminating on what to write for hours like say I wan write jamb. While browsing I searched for webflow jobs out of curiosity and I found one site that had like 4 listings, it didn't show the date the job listings were posted or whether they already expired. Saw a task that piqued my interest though ( clevertask.co ) They wanted to transfer their figma designs to webflow. Thought I should try it out, Identifying components, Copying and formatting the content took an hour, then coupling took 3-4 hours before I took a break. Currently contemplating whether to go and crash or duplicate it. Luckily they use the same template for most of their landing pages. You see tables, I see re-usable components. Use to hate parts like this until recently. Should start with the webflow duplication tomorrow, the only parts I can see giving me issues is the FAQs animated plus math icon and the calender, I'll figure it out though, the rest is easy peasy.

Lol, See what I stumbled upon. Most people by default would have gone for the second case study & even coded it even though it's obvious it's something they could internally implement. It's good for self learning though. Do it and don't submit. Reddit & twitter be opening ones eyes. Been scrolling through LinkedIn and I'm astounded by the amount of openings for product design vacancies across all levels available in the US compared to other locations

Mobile display templates, you can generate them in figma or use Photoshop. Just search for editable templates online. |
In the meantime, I've been scouring this platform for valuable info and advice, already stumbled on Venzal's video for freelancers and linkedin optimi.zation and others. No designing tomorrow, will just focus on updating my resume and various profiles. Having doubt's about this fle.xi.saf internship assessment, It's something I can do but I'll feel ripped off If I didn't make the cut. Finished webflow video: https://vimeo.com/770841567/ac50ea716d The header and footer doesn't look nice to me though, next time I'll just use tailwind templates

Damned bot ! Guess I can't post the last issue I had with the webflow design. Was trying to add some interactions to the tall cards. On mouse hover, A tall card should collapse to the shorter square shaped one (3rd image) then go back to default once mouse ho.vers out. You obviously can't do that if it's an image, the stroke outlined ones are designed from scratch. Na die ! Unlike figma where you can just create another element and link the two using interaction connectors. In webflow you have to select the element you want to change, change it's state from normal to hov.er and edit while in that state.... End of 1st half Had to settle for the second pic. Would have explained my design decisions but that bot won't let me post the second half

People subconsciously attribute a bigger body with age & will show more respect. I tried it out, used to have a thin frame when I left uni, went to nysc & bulked up. Everywhere I entered it was "Sir" "Daddy" especially when I put on native. Lost the weight & it was back to normal even with beards. Bulk up again & you'll see the immediate difference. So imagine how they'll see you if you're small & probably short. |
Remember I said the design was hard? I'm referring to cards with many minute details like this, It's easier in figma, guess the one I created from scratch? It's the fine one ![]() The other one is an svg file, faster for me but in reality the bookmark icon (heart) would not be clickable. One could create a card component in figma without the bookmark button, download as svg, upload in webflow and add the clickable icon in webflow. Why work harder when you can work smart ![]() Second and third images, simply uploaded the svg's. Already know I can design them from scratch but I need to move faster. It's good to know they are re-usable components, design one and re-use.

Second roadblock, compare the two images below. I wasn't observant enough to see that it was 3 images on a single slider and wasted hours trying to fit a single image on a slide page combining it all together before it dawned on me. Brain fog ain't a good thing. So what you see in my own design is 5 images on a SINGLE slide, the next slide would also bring 5 Images. Phew! What's wrong with mtn lately, I hate working with slow internet, I start to feel like the hulk.

Started replicating the nftlanding page in webflow. First thing was to download in svg format, all the assets in figma and upload in webflow. The logo, the account icon, the sign out icon etc are assets. That NFT design template is harder than it looks. ( using this https://bon_a9ja.online/nftlanding/ as a guide, remove the _ ) The section beneath the hero page, the animated one with brands moving across the screen was my first roadblock. I had no inkling how to replicated that, was it a video? animation? Later got the idea to use the website inspector and finally got my answer. It was a slider! We weren't taught how to use a slider in the bootcamp but typical of me, I located it in the element section and was able to add the brand logos and animate it on the first try, then I noticed I couldn't get the brands to show and follow closely after each other, every brand logo was taking up the whole screen before the next one showed up. Ran to the help section and googled afterwards. Futile, you can configure the slider itself but not the slides properties, any attempt to reduce the width of one slide will turn the slides into a single static one. At least that's what the 2 hours of research I did tells me for now. Had to put the images in a div box and center them, as shown in the last image. Couldn't get the original search button design also unless I wanted one for aesthetic purposes with no function, had to use webflow's default search element.

UyaiIncomparabl:Yeah |
Successfully replicated the first figma file in webflow, added some interactions. Started with one of the simpler ones. Started around 8/9pm & finished around 3. The interactions took a bit of playing around with before I got the ones I wanted. Webflow video here: https://vimeo.com/769263384/d1a8d9aac7 Phew! Seems november is going to be busy, An internship I applied for on Linkedin just sent in an assessment mail, they want a whole case study , have to complete my figma and webflow designs (aiming for at least 20 designs each, more than 50 websites noted down already) and still have assignments and other projects that needs to be completed and here I am;Wide awake at 3am listening to NF album. Unbothered. Change!
|
UyaiIncomparabl:Thanks, Started November last year. That's 6months if I remove the months I went AWOL, no thanks to imposter syndrome. Got a good grasp of the UX basics and already had above average UI skills and I'm very sure would have snagged a junior role within 3 months if I tried. Seen others with shorter transitions from learning to employment |
Emmex45:Nope, I hardly use YouTube unless my search results direct me there & it would be more related to UI designing in Figma. The projects I've done or participated in followed design processes I was already familiar with ( Research Define Ideate Prototype Test & Iterate ), all one has to do is complete the tasks under each. Everything is remote based, got links from Twitter & discord. |
Emmex45:Absolutely, they were both in-depth courses taught by professionals with relevant global industry experience. One focused majorly on UX and the other on UI. One doesn't need multiple courses, get the foundational knowledge & practice constantly/join internships. Yeah, Nigerian based. |
Emmex45:I spent a lot of time researching so I come across a lot of free resources and valuable information, Almost paid for stutern uiux training back then before I got the scholarship from an Egyptian company. It all depends on the amount of information available to you. Thanks |
Emmex45:1 intensive course on scholarship (Udacity UX Nanodegree) 1 Bootcamp (Joseph Brendan's) 35k. You mean internships or side hustles? Yes. Having regular Power & Data is very important. Laptop, 8gb 256ssd, keyboard light, Double batteries for extended use time. |
Emeraldfynest:No problem, skhanmi733 at gmail.com |
Sleekcode:That's true, can see I made some forgetful omissions myself. Will make changes before creating it with webflow. Thanks. |
Crenzywilliams:Some of you will just open mouth waaaaa, did you even read the write up well? He wasn't naive and was always on guard. Yes that scam has been around for long but I can assure you if chemical agents like scopolamine was used or even ordinary hypnosis (most folks are easily susceptible to this but they don't even know) , even you would fall for it. It's not all about greed or foolishness. Read about the 2 things I mentioned extensively & stop being judgemental. One just has to be more careful. |
Did only one today,Looks great on mobile. Copied & modified sleekcode design template. Remains 2.
