This is Jesus talking to Scribes and Pharisees. Are you A JEW? There were also Gentiles in those days who God did not give the Law to then that were alive. Understand the context. Jesus was addressing the Pharisees and Jews. Same people who later betrayed him but were experts in the so called law of Moses fairheven: |
Dangote does not pay tithes. You don't become a millionaire simply by paying tithes. That is not Christianity. God blesses people irrespective of their faith. He makes his rain to fall on both the good and the bad. I don't pay tithes and God bless me. Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. God blessings should not only be monetary. He keeps you from evil, good health, and gives you his peace which passeth all knowledge. The early Apostles spoke the truth, they were denied the wealth of life. They were contented and suffered. They all died a painful death except John the beloved who died naturally at a Older age. Read how these Apostles died and you will fear and realise that your so-called men of God of today are extorting and failing to declare to you the whole counsel of God. 1stCitizen: |
You are missing a fundamental point. The laws of Moses were for the Children Of Israel. Matt 23:23 was specifically speaking to Scribes and Pharisees not to you. Some Gentiles were alive as at that time that did not keep any law of Moses. The Pharisees knew the laws of Moses very well then. When gentiles became Christians in Acts 15, some Jewish Christians were now making laws saying that the Gentile Christians must be circumcised and OBEY the laws of Moses(tithing inclusive). Paul, Peter and the rest of the Apostles had to deliberate on this issue in Jerusalem. After, the meeting Peter now wrote a letter to the Gentile Christians that they should not obey the laws of Moses. Question is, If Gentile Christians should not obey the law of Moses, what about the Jews who became Christians? Will obeying the law of Moses with Christianity make them better Christians? The answer is NO. That was also the early stage of Christianity. Always read the Bible carefully. Ask who is writing, to whom, for what purpose, the message considering the whole context and not https://www.nairaland.com/2970673/anambra-cashless-obiano-launches-pos picking a text in isolation. Cheers. Dee235: |
The reason for all these is that people fail to understand that there are dispensations in the bible. Heb 1: 1 says God who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds. God speaking to us today by His Son implies by direct Command from Jesus, Apostolic Example and necessary inference. The Apostles did not pay tithe. The example in 1 Cor 16:1-2 is a command from Paul the Apostle. Gal 3 : 21- 25 reads: Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the LAW was our TUTOR to bring us to CHRIST, that we might be justified by FAITH. But after FAITH has come, WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER A TUTOR. |
Many people believe that by acknowledging the Obligation of the Jews to tithe here Jesus is teaching that tithing is also obligatory for New Testament Christians. Tithing is not even the issue in Matt 23:23. Jesus was rebuking Scribes and Pharisees who were SUBJECT to the law and obligated to tithe anyway. The issue Jesus was addressing was not their tithes, but their neglect of Justice, mercy and faithfulness toward others. To practice these was more important than being sticklers for the smallest detail of tithing(Matt 23:24-33). This is what Jesus was really leading up to in Matt 23, which precludes verse 23 from being uses to teach that Jesus was sanctioning tithing for New Testament Christians. Dee235: |
LEGALAide:Don't be bothered that people will accuse you or say all kind of things, the truth is always bitter. A true Christian will look beyond what his so called man of God says and carefully search the scriptures to see if those things are true. Like the berean Christians did. Did you know that I got a bible concordance, and went to the book of Galatians. Even the Concordance says Paul wrote the book of Galatians to the Galatian Church that Christians should not Obey the law of Moses. Your views are shared by true Christians. It is the whole truth. |
LEGALAide:Pls, I want you to know that all what you have said about tithing is the truth. You are right. Christians should speak where the bible speaks and be silent where the bible is silent. Study to show thyself approved unto God. A workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim 2: 15. As a matter of fact, the first council in Christianity was in Acts 15: 1 to 24, where the apostles came together to consider the matter of Gentiles obeying the law of Moses. Peter and Paul with the rest of the apostles said Christians should not keep the law of Moses. For all those Christians who pay tithe, you are only practising Judo-Christianity. Mixing the law of Moses with Christianity. Gal 5:4 You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. What this passage say is that if you seek justification for an act of righteousness from the Old testament, Christ is of effect to you. People are lazy to study the bible, and they will justify the teachings of the so called men of God. Heb 7 : 1 - 28 tells us that Christ was from the tribe of Judah (and not of Levi, who receive the priesthood) and there is a change in the priesthood, there is also a change of the law. Christians should not pay tithe. The Apostles of Christ did not pay tithe. For those talking about Matt 23:23, as at that time, Christ was not yet Crucified on the Cross and he was addressing the Pharisees and Scribes. |
God bless you for this post of yours. Silly Article. Which University did Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, John Obi Mikel, David Becham, Jay Jay Okocha attend? These guys are miles ahead of the OP in every sphere of life. I Studied Electrical Engineering from Yabatech and I never regretted going there. After spending the 5 years in Uni, you get a 100K per month job and some Poly graduates in Telecoms/IT earn over 800K per month cause of their expertise. Omotola Jalade graduated from Yabatech. Whether it is a Poly or Uni it doesn't define you. A myopic reasoning indeed. We all have our relevance in the society. tosyne2much: |

Aubameyang is the best player in Africa right now. He is even the highest goal scorer in Europe this season. He has scored more goals than Neymar, Vardy, Lewandosky, CR, Messi, Suarez and Zlatan. He is quick, pacey, can dribble and scores goals for fun. He is a joy to watch for those who know soccer. When you are an African, and scored more goals than any other player in europe, then u should be appreciated. Yaya toure is past it. He has seen better days. |
God bless you for this beautiful comment. U have said it all. These people have no shame at all. Aufbauh: |

There you go. we are at it again. The truth is most people are teaching for doctrine the commandment of men. I will put Christmas into the same category of What God says versus what Men teach. A. Steps Of Salvation 1. Hear the word(Rom 10: 17) 2. Believe(Mark 16:15) 3. Repent of your sins.(Acts 2:44) 4. Confess Jesus as the Son Of God(Rom 10:9-10). 5 Water Baptism(Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16; I pet 3:21). I will dwell on Baptism. Baptism saves you.(1 Pet 3:21.) You cannot be Born Again BEFORE Water Baptism.(Your So called Men Of God do not teach this) Most Denominations today dont dwell on Water Baptism as a step towards being Born Again. People rather twist God's Command and give a wrong information on How Men are being Saved. Men say if you want to be born again: say after me. Lord Jesus, I know im a sinner. etc. Then they tell you to Join a bible believing Church. Water Baptism Saves you. John 3:3; 1 Pet 3:21 You dont Join any Church. God adds you to the Church. The Church is important in God's Plan Of Salvation.(Heb 12:23) It is Only the faithful Ones in the Church that will be saved in the end. B. Women Pastors/ Women Leading Prayers In Churches: A Pastor according to the Scripture is Only reserved for Men. 1 Tim 3:1-7 A WOMAN CANNOT BE CALLED A PASTOR. The Bible uses the word Pastor, Overseer, Bishop and Elder interchangeably in the New testament.(Based on the work) A Position Only meant for Men. He must be a Husband of One wife and not a Wife of One Husband. I am not a Male Chauvinist. I am only reminding us what God commanded through Apostle Paul. A Woman Cannot Lead in Prayers in the Church where there are Believing Men. It is A Shameful thing for a woman to lead in Prayers in Worship.( 1 Tim 2:8; 1 Cor 14:34). These are just a few examples of how men have twisted God's Law. As for Christmas, Jesus Christ whom you are Celebrating his birth commanded all his followers to Observe the Lord's Supper every Sunday(Acts 20:7; Lk 22:19: Luke 22:19: And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying,"This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." You choose to remember Christmas- (A day Jesus Christ was not born) but You disregard the Lord's Supper(A command of Jesus to All his followers through which He should be remembered). It is a mystery that God did not reveal the day Jesus was born. Deut 29:29. The secret things(Like when Jesus was born) belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. |
Marriage is not a bed of roses. It's full of ups and downs. But you have to be patient and strike such evil thoughts off mind. Communicate more with your husband. bloggingforrealcash.com |
What a Shame. Our Lawmakers should be paid part time. Merge the two houses to one and pay them par seating. It should be made unattractive. There is a great disconnect between the lawmakers and the masses. These guys should be called to order. They must be made accountable to the masses. No more fooling around. Overpaid lot. www.bloggingforrealcash.com |

Nobody. And I think Enyeama should know better. He should have punched the ball to a safer place. It was his area. He knew how crowded the 6 yard box was and also saw Pogba at his far left, He should have gone all out to punch the ball since he out jumped every player in the box. At best, a nigerian player should have been at his far post. I believe if Onazi was not injured, it would have been different. We needed runners with great energy in the middle to take on the 2 french Beasts(Matuidi and Pogba). After the injury, Maybe Keshi should have brought on Babatunde and let Mikel Shield the back 4. I think Keshi should still keep his job. And we need to go back to grassroot development and PR. For goodness sake, Sidney Sam of Leverkusen is a Nigerian, Alaba of Munich is a Nigerian. We should think of getting these lost Sons of ours back to the team. |
Honestly, why would someone buy a used phone for 65k? if u are bent on using a samsung S4. Save up and buy a new one. must u use an S4 at all cost? And d dude that compares buying used phones with buying used cars must be born yesterday. With used pones, u hope for the best and expect the worst. That 65k can as well buy an equally efficient android phone. No warranty on the used phone. SMH. |
That a product is made in china does not necessarily mean sub standard. About 98% of modems used in this country are made in china(huawei).Same way Huawei offers cheap but efficient equipments to send off d likes of motorola, alcatel lucent, nokia semens. Even Ericsson has lost the market to huawei in Nigeria. So, cost does not always transform to better quality. |
