kotlass: Like I stated in my previous post. Former Skye bank CEO is heavily vested in this arrangement. It is conceivable. What I also see is a situation where some banks will have to merger or be acquired to stay in business. Alternatively, they will have to raise capital asap. Skye bank is one of such.
Skye + Heritage + Enterprise is not unthinkable.
#Speculation A friend just told me that Heritage bank has acquired Enterprise bank |

Does it mean no one in this forum is looking at Ashaka Cement, Mobil, etc with impressive results? All our stock portfolio seems to be Oando, Eterna, Transcorp (waiting and watching game stocks with heart beats rising). They are all good though as myjoy said, these stocks will definitely make people smile. |

UkwuAmu: Its very easy to lose common sense when it comes to stock investing. Having followed all the discussions on this thread, it seems the adrenaline to invest in a particular stock for most people here is driven by rumours and insiders information rather than due diligence . Any body who object to popular choice of stock picks or questions the source of a rumour is tagged as evil spirit or market crasher. The problem with a lot of folks in investing is they are too much in a hurry. They want to invest 1k today and reap 1 million tommorrow . Instead of asking for recommendations on stock picks , it would be better if you know the parameters for determining a stock that is cheap, buy and wait for the market to price in its real price. The market is not about oando, transcorp, eterna, sterling and wapic alone . There are a lot of other stocks out there but because people want to return 1 million percent in 2 days , it must be oando and transcorp by fire or by force. Simple investing teaches you not to invest in what you dont understand . Simple question, Can anybody confidently tell me they understand whats going on in Oando? Mind you I am not trying to bring the stock down or anything , Its just a simple question. Can anybody tell me how many outstanding shares Oando has now? People will make money for the stock make no mistake but going forward, the transition from what they are doing now to producing oil will not be easy . When they want to confuse the market, they will tell you the transaction has been done with OER and all that. I own oando shares but I am not even going to hold for a long time because the real challenge will come when the deal with COP is concluded. Like I said I own Oando shares so please do not become irrational with your replies as we are BNSITL . Relying too much on insiders information too can fail. It thursday already and based on insiders information, some results would have been released by now . Not that the person giving the insider's info is not given correct information but anything can change anytime hence the caution to do due diligence which a lot of people throw to the wind. No investment principle is superior to the other . Do what works for you. Remember people made money even from NOSPECTO but you must know how to play the game Some recommendations are being given on insurance companies that have not even submitted results and people are loosing their heads already. Please go to Naicom website and see companies that have submitted results so that when you are being told to buy some insurance companies, you will want to ask yourself whether you are buying based on a company that last released its result 3 years ago . I do not understand how investment decisions are made like that but if it works for you and you make money, To God be the glory. Ikeja Hotels recently released their 2012 YE result in 2014. Even though the result was good and Ikeja Hotel looked under priced, will you buy a stock based on last 2 years result? supposing a lot of things have changed in 2013 and 2014? Buffett warned us that if you do not understand a business, please run as fast as you can. I must confess there are some super investors in this forum who know what they are doing . Sorry for my long rant but lets keep our expectation in perspective before we get burnt Well said my brother. |
