Coolcash1: Got an insider info that FBNH management has suspended recruitment, salary increase or promotion to allow the bank clear its toxic assets...That the housekeeping will last up to two years. So, those living in their wildest dream that the elephant will rise again in the short term should have a rethink. Except you are in for long term then you can invest in it.
Discl: I have good interest in the stock. Last year info/event |

Bloomberg puts their EPS ttm(summation previous 4 quarters) as 37k. 15k will be a miracle from this EPS. Bloomberg? I suggest you depend less on them for info. |

The worst days of FBNH has come and gone. |

kentoto: Oops sorry, it's Q2. FBNH H1 POSITION: Gross earnings: 1st. PBT/PAT: 4th Liquidity: 1st (CBN even lifted about N135b from FBNH to assist SKYE) Impairment : Not good, about 64b H1 other comments H1: FBNH mgt has done a good job in reducing operational expenses very well and this has helped the lapse on impairment to still maintain good PBT. disclaimer: not a recommendation |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by sky2891: 7:26am On Jul 17, 2016 |
Willie2015: It is simply not a walk in the park for FBNH to restore investors confidence, have strong risk management and Corporate governance etc etc. It is simple on paper but takes time in reality and equally not funny when you have the highest exposure to Oil & Gas sector in the current economic climate, coupled with tight industry competition and a highly regulated sector.
I will only worry about long term holding if I have the fund like Dangote or Buffet to buy substantial stake. I dont have the time to wait for mgt to perspire, when I can make cool dough on some other stocks. Once I make 100k - 200k on a stock, I simply take my gains and move on. H1 result will help a lot in making concrete decision about FBNH. Let's just wait for it. |

Please, house, kindly assist me with this question. Assuming FBNH releases their H1 2016 result, What will possibly be the market reaction if there is no improvement in impairment charges due to loan losses but good improvement in cost reduction (operational expenses) and an impressive PBT yoy result in comparison with H1 2015? |
