DOLLARTEX: this lafarge result calls for serious scrutiny.how can you go claim pat of 20billion in half year and 0.9b in nine months, though it was unaudited but then. That's my concern, though I am not too good at decrypting financials. I hope someone helps us to explain this. |

fxuser: - Daily chart shows price rejection below N50 (oversold / support) - The weekly chart is longer making lower lows therefore d long term bearish trend is over ! - Weekly macd is stays above zero ! (positive) - We shud see further retest of 60 levels in days or weeks to come - A break above that level is bullish - Also a close above 57.5 level on d monthly is a breakout also Thank you. |

olyrayy: So, that means that if someone buys the bond, the person would get 16% in addition to the original. Isn't this the same with normal interest, and against Islamic principles? What is special in Sukkuk that the government didn't just decide to use the normal bonds? Thanks. SUKUK Bond is meant to lure Arabic/Muslim investors. Islamic investors will not invest in interest based bonds hence the use of the term Rental fee. Though interest and rental fee serves same purpose. |

olyrayy: Ogas in the house. How does the Sukkuk bond issued by the Nigerian government work? This is because since the bond does not pay interest, how do investors get back their money? The interest is called RENTAL FEE of a bit more than 16% per annum payable bi-annually. |

Chibuking81: OK, if they repeat the payment of last year based on their current price
1. GTB (1.75 + .25 interim = 2) 2 X 100,000 = #200,000 2. Zenith (1.77 + .25 interim = 2.02 ) 2.02 x 174,900 = #353,298 3. Access (.40 + .25 interim = .65) .65 x 398,000 = #258700 4. UBA (.55 + .20 interim = .75) .75 X 416,500 = #312,375 In every stock pricing, risk assessment is also involved. Risk assessment of the above named stock differs which also reflects in its prices. What will you say of stanbic if you must only calculate as above? |

emmanuelewumi: Play the money market yourself and you will get a true yield of about 22%. Ofcourse, but the flexibility which FBNcapital offers seems right for a flexible investor. e.g withdrawing your funds when opportunity calls without any charge on your interest and having opportunity to invest additional amount at will etc. I guess people have reasons for the investment patterns they choose. |

vivie01: Okay! Pa Emma, that someone left gtb to establish ARM automatically makes his company a subsidiary of gtb? Dont understand!
My initial question borders on correlation between ARM and AXA mansard which as far as Im concerned was not answered at all in your post.
Like I said earlier, mutual fund is a good alternative investment in addition to other ones and its stress free.
When I refer to mutual fund here, its mostly with money market fund in my mind; and please know that dividends are being paid quarterly. Might not be too much but it gives rest of mind as its not everybody that has the mind of keeping his/her eggs in one basket.
Stocks investment carries its own high risks too.
In all, let individuals stick to what works best for him or her, money must be made. You are right. Mutual funds are flexible these days. A friend of mine has funds in the Money market funds of FBNcapital that runs more like FD or TB with a yield of more than 17% per annum. |

Being someone that trades with sizeable amount of fund, tell me why on earth you will still be holding an equity that gives you circa 20% in a market that is FLYING without WINGS
Inessence know what you are cut out for and go for it squarely. It's might take 100yrs for one to raise a formidable capital but when you are sitting on it you guide it jealously and make your money work for you.QED.

First always first . $500m (more than N180b) dropping off NPL in the course of the year after the first dropping off in this Q2 which will all be written back as income. Needless raising funds again inform of eurobonds or rights issue or IPO and adding extra liability like other banks are doing or intending to. Also additional value for shareholders and boosting investors confidence. Imagine (N119b+N226b) N335b real stress test now coming back as income when written back even if its half of it. safepaulooo: My very same experience with FBNH. Patience is key Same: Started buying in 2015 ending at N5.45k. When it sold at N3, I had a loss of N2.6m even after I averaged my total position down to N3.8k (though paper loss). 2 years patience and still patient despite now at profit (still paper profit). Research, information addiction, invest and have faith and hope with patience while your ears remains alert for new information you must process before taking any action. Also entertain all the help you can but its your call cause if you loose or gain, its yours. I guess that's why we have disclaimers on virtually every stock advisory. Starting isn't easy but God will always help get through. Stock investing/trading/business is a continuous school but timely information helps a lot in making profit and avoiding much losses including emotional losses (Emotional control is important too). Timely information seems to be the major challenge because its the major success key for all (individual and institutions alike). My little contribution from a layman's perspective. |

Cadillac15: Brother in the lord. i have your sentiments but i have been in finance for too long to take chances. I advertised FBNH and would advertise it anyday. But we are not members of the board neither are we the auditors.
Let me ask you 2 questions. What if information leaks that the worst is not over? What is the eps for 2nd quarter is not what you think?
I speculate at times but over speculation kills.
Gracias When it was bad FBNH management said FBNH was affected by the economic situatìon then and that they are bent on working on it. When the worst was over they also said so. Now the latest statement in the past AGM in summary is that they are stabilising their profit in 2017. What more transparency do we want from a management or board. The news on the street we have to prove that is the restructure of some major loan which according CBN policy will run for atleast 6months before the bank can write back which means that the 6months will be due within the year. Meanwhile for any institution/individual to stake upto 458m units in a transaction @4.01 means thorough due diligence was done. Though I am also heavy in this bus but I believe the worst is really over but if by anycase it's not and it falls back, with what I am seeing now I will accumulate more and more and keep my patience as I have been accumulating since 2015 ending because it must boom and already booming. Disclaimer: Just My opinion |

Chibuking81: Bank stock movement and their position. First category 1. GTB, always first. 2. Stanbic Bank, second. 3. Zenith bank, third.
Second category 1.Access bank, first. 2.UBA bank, second. 3. FBNH, Third. 4. UBN, fourth. Third category 1. FCMB, first. 2. Fidelity, second. 3.Diamond bank, Third. Fourth category 1.Sterling bank, first. 2. Unity bank, second. 3. Skye bank (They are on relegation from division three to four) 4. WEMA Bank.
(Other omitted bank Keystone bank, Jais Bank, etc, belongs to one of the categories above)
Whenever there is upward movement in any of the categories, it seems to be a competition, the market maker of the first will push in money to maintain their lead, while the last will wake up to cash up with others in their category. After house cleaning is fully confirmed, FBNH likely to join 1st category where it rightly belongs. Disclaimer: My opinion. Stock investors are like farmers. You may not know the exact time to pluck a fruit. So You keenly watch your tree bear fruits without plucking before it ripes. And pray that the same Creator that brought the fruit also give you the wisdom and signals to discern when best to pluck. Investors and farmers alike tries to maximise harvest but the Creator alone determines the best harvest time. |

Ihedioramma 20+ Cadillac 25 Leparg 10-20 princkez 20+ but I believe as events unfolds, the target price will be determined cause FBNH has a lot of energy to feed the bull as the public including foreign investors gets hold of more info as regards the upcoming "cleaned" fundamentals. FBNH reminds me of an eagle. Takes time to rejuvenate itself; facing realities and causing itself pains in removing dead feathers and beaks (painfully writing off it's impaired loans) to allow the restoration of youthful vigour and strength. When it's done, a youthful vigour gradually appears and flying above the highest mountains as ever before even more. Eaglephant |

Transparency and integrity seems to be the watchwords for this new FBNH management. In my little opinion, FBNH will only stabilise their profit this 2017 since they will not have heavy impairments to clean up like in 2016. By 2018, no one will believe the profit/value appreciation for shareholders (Reason: continuous increase in heavy gross earnings with huge constant decrease in operational cost and loan impairments). Lets not project that of 2019. I humbly advise patience and support for the new management as they are almost completing the hard task set by the board. Please, this is simply my little personal opinion/understanding |

Princkez: pls remove FBNH from d list.. Cardinal stone claims to have had a chat with the M.D. FirstBank ,Sola Adetuntan, with enough research though the chat seems to have been underground events been unfolded now to the public. Also most analysts over the past two days are giving a buy recommendation on FBNH even if its at N7.35..... with convincing justifications. Volume and value traded over the past few days seems like pointers to this recommendation. In my view FBNH treasures still remain for the patient. |
