222Martins: If you need to become a motivational speaker because of a stock, then it is not worth it. If you need to defend a stock or fight for a stock to encourage people to buy or hold, when you are clearly an outside investor, then it is not worth it unless you are paid to make such recommendations.
You only fight or defend a stock/company when you are an inside investor. I am heavily in OANDO bus but the quote wasn't to fight or defend the stock not even to get anyone to buy. I am more like motivating myself. Note: I am well aware of all the odds in being in OANDO bus. |

Choiceguy: The only thing Oando needs now to appreciate in price is the issues of delist, once it is settled (suspended) which will be cleared by 24th of June 2024.there is no further adjournment the price will skyrocket. Court Ruling does not necessarily end a court case. |

mikeapollo: Anything can still happen in Oando, either good or bad! We all are taking risks in the market. The higher the risks, the bigger the rewards, all things being equal (although all things are rarely equal). Lol.
The boardroom squabbles that rocked the company for many years and its battles with the SEC are majorly responsible for most of the current challenges the company is facing today. This could even make it very difficult for Oando to get any sympathy or smooth deal if they should approach the SEC with a ridiculous offer price for the proposed delisting. The SEC could use it as opportunity to rein in and deal with Oando (all things being equal). But generally, the company seems to be overcoming its challenges, one step after the other. Nobody expected it to be able to acquire Conoco Philips, NAOC, settle aggrieved shareholders for USD600m, and obtain a USD800m facility from Africa EXIM Bank. Also remember the current president is related to Oando CEO. This could bring in potential bigger deals.
As regards funding, it would not be too difficult to attract the required funds if Wale Tinubu would be willing to shed some of his control and let others buy more of the company's shares. For instance, if a person like Otedola or Elumelu should enter Oando now, everything go change overnight!
Anyhow, anyhow, those staying with Oando know what they are about, and those jumping the ship also know what they are doing. Each Mallam with his kettle! SEC chairman has been changed recently. I hope its not what I am thinking. Like changing INEC chairman prior to election... |

Mpeace: President Bola Tinubu has appointed Emomotimi Agama as the director general of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Ajuri Ngelale, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
Agama will take over from Lamido Yuguda.
According to Ngelale, Tinubu also appointed Lairiga Katuka as SEC’s board chairman.
The spokesperson said Frana Chukwuogor was appointed as executive commissioner (legal and enforcement); Bola Ajomale, executive commissioner (operations); Samiya Usman, executive commissioner (corporate services).
Tinubu approved the appointment of Lekan Belo and Kasimu Garba Kurfi as non-executive commissioners.
Ngelale added that the president anticipates the SEC board will bring to bear their wealth of experience and competence in advancing the commission’s core mandate.
He said the responsibilities of SEC are developing and regulating a capital market that is dynamic, fair, transparent, and efficient, to bolster investor confidence and contribute immeasurably to the nation’s economic development. Could this be in preparation for the next step OandO will take after the court ruling? Just thinking... |

In saner societies, they would have been held to account for their illicit actions. Unfortunately, this is Nigeria! It seems you have given up on Oando |

Made dem do quick release 2022 & 2023 financial statements. I doubt if they will until the dust settles. They need something to spike the speedy movement of the price after the delisting saga is settled. My opinion |

ProphetUtuocha: The ground for the postponement of the Oando court case was positive for shareholders. It technically marks the dead-on-arrival of the delisting proposition. Om Oando, we stand! The fact that Venus construction and 14 others are representing all minority shareholders has been rendered null and void since some different minority shareholders has joined as petitioners irrespective. (Not comfortable enough to have Venus construction representing them) What could be the implication of this? Lawyers here should help us. |
