Man! From Agric to Odoguyan to Ogijo any land within rang of 500k is inside bush or swamp don't think you are talking to a novice

What do mean basic amenities? Inside bush you mean. This is the mentality that made me missed out on present lekki when a plot was sold for 300k around 2000. I just told you that the land is not your primary residence. You only invested to sell water to people around who are coming to build and do other things that need water. There are always people in those areas who are willing to take the responsibility and make remittances as agreed.

You can still get half plot for 500k inside ikorodu area. You are investing to sell water not to go to school and hospital.

Are insinuating 100-200k can give enjoyable life in Nigeria? How much is the phone you are using? For 200k earner how many months will it take him/her to buy grade or even lower of phone you are holding. We are in big mess in this country.
If he feels Nigeria is heaven relative to USA he should be relocate without wasting of time

Read what I wrote well. The 100k ( less expenses) is daily not monthly. You think it’s Eldorado anywhere? No, it’s not.
Nigeria that you can even buy land for 500k in some places and dig bore hole and sell water from the same land to recover your money in less than a year.
Where else can you do that.

No average person pays $5k monthly rent. In most cities, 3 bedrooms is not more that $2k monthly.

The truth is, with very little you will enjoy life as a Nigerian. Forget about what they are trying to make you believe.
Someone like me can never lack in Nigeria except if an unforeseen situation sets in. There are many businesses one could run with very little capital.
Leverage on you have. For instance, Instead of driving Uber, use that same vehicle to transport fresh fruits on daily bases from farm area to city and sell for double. #100k fruit you will sell for #200k.
Which Uber driver makes #100k daily?

I want to tile my 79sq/m area in Owerri.
29sq/m for parlour, 50sq/m for rooms, kitchen and passage.

I received two quotation for tiles.
First person quoted me 632000, saying it's 8000 for a sq/m

The other person quoted:
For parlour 8600 per carton for 21 cartons. 60x 60
For parlour 8400 per carton for 26 cartons. 40 x40.

Please which is more realistic and advice able to go for. I don't know much about building and really confused

Go to the market, choose any size and quality of tiles you like and can afford, buy the needed quantity.
Then call the tiler ( the one that you have seen and liked their previous work) and negotiate amount for labor only.
I am sure buying cement and soft sand in Owerri won’t be much of a problem.
You can start with one trip of sand and 20bags of cement.

Let me help you with some figures

1 trip of sand = 60k
20 bags of cement @10k = 200k
Labor 1500 per sqm x 79 = 118500
Subtotal = #378500.

Now you see that the #632000 they quoted for you can only give you #253500 for tiles.

The question now is, what type of tiles can this amount get to 79 sqm?

What you are looking at is 253500 divided by 79 = #3208 ( per sqm of tiles)
To be honest with you, no 60x60 tile sales for this amount even 30 x 60 Nigeria tiles is around 5-6k .
In all of these, transportation of materials could gulp another 40-50 k.

But the truth is that her comment is to appeal to the local electorates. Who do you think the voters in her country would support? The one that supports deportation? No. With this statement alone, she has won the heart of majority of her people.

Nigeria has so many opportunities. Why would I need credit or loan that comes with interest? At the end you still use that money for business.
But if you start a business first, you can establish contact with big businesses that would extend some credit to you without interest.

From Experience, I will advice Tilling first before installing doors but the Subframes should have be installed.

Some Tilers will want to take a Uniform Level and this will affect the doors because they might be of different level.

To save yourself stress, additional cost and also who is doing the door stress also.

You are talking from the perspective of wooden doors. For someone using iron doors, it is better to install the doors first before tiles. This is more so because the subframe and the door of metal doors do not come separately.

Those small Bedford truck or 911 truck you mentioned is actually 5 tons. You would need two of those to make 10 tons, which is 35k x 2 = 70k.

That is the quantity you need to mold 10 bags of cement l used in the calculation.

Nothing is fishy na you dey use the price in your location to determine everywhere. I fenced one of my buildings 2 weeks ago. I bought block 6 for #300 per one, cement 8,500 per bag and sand 30,000 per load.

You see, we are almost saying the same thing since you agree with me that cement is 8500 in your area as well.

Secondly, you also agreed that sand is 30k per load . So, two loads will mold 10 bags of cement.

Therefore my calculation was on spot. But the 300 for each block does not correspond if you had the standard 35 blocks per bag of cement.

Hmmm. This is magic.

If cement is 8500 each, 10 bags = 85k
10 tons sharp sand is 70k
Labour each bag is 2k x 10bags = 20k
Water 5k
Total #180k
Divide that amount by 350 ( 10x 35 pieces each bag)

180k / 350 = #514 each block.
Therefore the price of 300 is fishy.

That quote is not even standard. If you use white marble instead of granite, the price would change to 70k per square meter = 700k.
Also, a standing gas top with oven would set you back #500k
