Btw, iron is good for your body compared to aluminium.

It cannot be iron only. It has to be an alloy. Any pot made only out of iron will rust in no time.

By the way, steel is an alloy of iron.

None of those. But it has life time warranty.

Most quality pots are made of aluminum or stainless steel alloy. But some cheap ones are made out of iron sheet and then galvanized.
Iron (ferrous ) could oxidize and become Ferrous oxide (rust) when exposed to water in the presence of oxygen.
The heat from cooking has eroded the the galvanized coating and exposed the original material to rust, aided by the egg shell.

This is not how periwinkles are harvested. They are harvested while the water is still there or deep in the river. This method will only give you dead rotten ones that couldn’t swim with tide.

To get good healthy ones, you have to dive down inside the river and get to the bottom with a basket to scoop them and resurface.
You need a small boat to float around and a very long raffia stick to detect where the periwinkles are clustered. As you gently sail the boat , you use the raffia stick to push down on the river bed to feel the clusters. That is how you know they are there.
Dive in, scoop a basket full, resurface and and empty into the boat. Repeat.
