It depends on the university, you have to ask. Some universities that own a contract with private residence providers will give you a housing certificate or letter of attestation. With that letter, you can get visa because the letter states you’re guaranteed an accommodation. Getting CROUS is very hard as an international student because you need a french guarantor. So just check with your university about any arranged accommodation flyway: Has anybody been able to get accommodation for student visa? How did you go about it? |

Still doesn’t change the fact fam babaoloola: Thanks so much for this. Guys who are quick to say "Google is your friend" should please calm down for us o. Louder for the people at the back LaaJiblik: ALL of them could give discounts to international students. Factors they consider may include (but not limited to); Course, Country of origin, your undergrad CGPA, etc.
No Nairalander has a database of schools and discounts.
GOOGLE is Your Friend. School Websites is your Best Friend. @ LaaJiblik is right. No one got database all of the universities here. It’s totally impossible that you did not find any information about scholarships or discounts on their websites. Check again properly arhyur: Please calm down, if I have the information from from google or their website I wouldn’t be here asking, if you don’t know also kindly allow people who does answer me. This is actually correct lol. I was talking to a friend who is a senior lecturer at a university. Apparently they’re cutting jobs but they’re also introducing a new strategy. “Reconsidering declined applications”.So basically if you did not meet the English requirements previously & you were declined an offer, you will get an email saying you can be offered a place if you can take the university’s English test. Or if your CGPA was too low, they’re offering 2-3 weeks intensive courses before start of the program. That’s how much desperate they need funds from international students lmao. Dwebb55: To add to this, when the meeting between the stakeholders and the government was held, some management staff from German airports authorities were called in to see how countries that have opened were able to do so. The purpose was to streamline the opening of external airlines into the country shortly after local flights resume. Feelers are suggesting that a reopen might occur locally in the first week of July.
Let's wait and see and pray. The Ireland embassy will start processing for its September intake from tomorrow. Their plan is to have prospective students submit at VFS after which the submission will be sent to the Abuja embassy and then scanned to the VO in Ireland who will begin processing. We know our funds is much needed in the abroad so hopefully, action will be taken to reopen fully soon! |

Airports and international flights will definitely resume by Mid August at most. These politicians also have their kids who are leaving for studies this September. Some are also due for their annual medical checkups. Some are also in desperate need to go on holiday with their side chicks & relive the whole stress from corona. Besides it’s not the government at fault (at least for interstate travel). It is the airlines. The domestic airlines are yet to provide all necessary documents required to fly up again & some are yet to pass the maintenance checks. Allowing people to fly without adequate safety measures is risky & you know how careless Nigerians can be. There’s still time though against September bisi16: With the way this govt is making and rescinding decisions, till now, no local flights, no inter-state travel. u guys sure we'll make Sept entry date? I'm starting to doubt.. |

Just email the university with a refund request. Fortunately because of CONVID19, some universities are offering deposit refunds if you change your mind to proceed with study this year. You can see sample from below (Wolverhampton University). So just email your university and explain you wish to get a deposit refund due to CONVID19 complications on your finance. They should be willing to refund your money All the best Bryantee: Good day to you all. I have been planning and working on my admission to study in UK for some times now and everything seems to be moving smoothly until recently. I have an unconditional offer and tuition deposit of £2000 has already been paid courtesy of my sponsor. However, the story has now changed for worse because he is no longer capable of sponsoring the study due to his financial status (effect of COVID 19), he has even advised I request for refund of the tuition deposit. Please, how do I go about this in order to get the refund even if it won't be in full. Thanks.

The plan is to check on her during studies and probably fully settle down with her after studies. But I just get to know we can go together, and that one person will be a dependent..... If we want to go together, how much are we expected to have in our account after paying her school fees to have our Visa approved. Someone should help on how this works.

Maybe Graceisallineed: Some people have had issues also with Stanbic, Standard Chartered and Access. In my personal opinion, it depends on the branch you go to. First bank and Zenith bank in Victoria Island axis treat FX transactions swiftly.
I asked my friend working at Zenith about the rate Zenith bank will use for Form A payment (tuition fee), he said CBN rate. |

I honestly don’t know about exchange rates, so you would have to enquire. What I am sure about, is their fastness. Like if you go in the morning, before the end of the day you will get debit alert. Next day you get telex copy. They don’t have unnecessary protocols. I don’t know much about FidelityBank form A payments; I only use their app for euro transactions which is very reliable. But my brother, don’t even try firstbank. It’s like going from frying pan to fire. They will frustrate you with network talk ehnn. Before they process it, till thy kingdom come. Upon that, they will charge you at the rate of whenever they process it not when you submitted the request. If they rate is lower on the processing day, they will now go back and charge you with the higher rate of time you submitted. They have dealt with me severally. Forget firstbank o. SAMDEEA123: I was thinking of transferring my funds away from Stanbic to my fidelity or first bank to make payment but with this revelation, I will let it be. Hope their exchange rate is fair |

For foreign transactions; Stanbic Standard Chartered Accesbank are the top three. For domiciliary account & direct transfer from mobile app FidelityBank Accesbank Standard chartered are top three. Other banks are good, but these ones are very fast when it comes to deposit payment, tuition or other foreign transactions. SAMDEEA123: Wow so Stanbic is super? I have a Stanbic account |

@alien1, davodyguy is right. You have to disvirgin your passport first before applying for Schengen visa. This is because you’ve already had 4 visa refusals and that could suggest desperation, especially as you’re a single guy with no family ties. You can try visiting UAE, or another country that requires visa on arrival or visa free. At least when you apply, they can see that you have crossed border before and returned in due time. I personally wouldn’t even advise a Virgin passport holder to apply for Schengen visa now. What could possibly be so urgent for one too see in high infected countries like France, Spain etc..for a newbie? They go dey wonder why you wan visit their country on top this coronavirus wahala. Anyway @alien1 Goodluck. davodyguy: Try to do UAE First this time to 'disvirgin' the passport |

The fact that you haven’t gotten a job yet, doesn’t mean someone else won’t. Everyone has their own grace. I don’t see why someone with no interest in nursing should go for it because of work. Peoples lives are in your hands abeg. Mizzfy: Please go for nursing, I repeat go for nursing. You can't go wrong studying nursing because as soon as you are done, you can register with the nursing board and you will get a job even if you need sponsorship. Vacancies in healthcare are endless. IT jobs are highly competitive and more so you need to find a sponsor. Just finished my msc in cybersecurity, no hope of finding a tier 2 sponsor. If I could start the process all over, I will go for nursing. |
