Zubair 01:God or Allah or both will help us and grant us our heart's desire. . . . |
hello i want to know if anyone in the house gained an admission this year into any Uni (here or yonder). it's a thing of joy so tell us the school, course, how you felt, etc. as for me, my name came out on the Absu merit list for my dream course (English & lit). how about you? |

is this Nobel now the same as the commonwealth short story competition? i think the criteria has fallen. . . . |
How Hot Is Chimamanda's New Book? Has anyone read Chimamanda’s The Things Around Your Neck? How ‘hot’ are the stories in the book? Please let me know, I will be buying them soon. |
Hi everyone, just trying to quench my curiosity here. I want to know if anyone in the House can make love to an AIDS patient with a condom. Personally, I don’t think it’s a risk what taking but, hey, that’s my opinion. So what do you think? Would you make love to an AIDS patient with condom? |
My good people in the House, I have a question. What would you do if your lover got AIDS from blood transfusion? Would you stay or leave? What would you do? This question just crossed my mind because my girl would just die or even opt to ‘share’ the disease with me, rather than leave me – I’m sure of that. If you find yourself in that condition, what would you do? |
Okay evri one. "I didn't pay" could mean d amount he paid was very small, in which case he didn't really pay! |
Atuche is a gud comrade who does not want 2 suffer a beta fate than his fallen colleagues. On the other hand, he may just be an example of Nigeria @ 49: big for nothing. Brainless. |
Let doz who say America only sees d bad in us hav a change of tongue, coz d same eyes dat saw Ibori & co dat saw Fashola. |
Dis things are all interconnected. If Arik had not protested, it wud not hav been 'DISCOVERED' dat they r 'task evaders', somtin dat may hav been on for months. |
Is dis a wind of change or wat? First it was Uwem Akpan's book making it 2 Oprah's book club, now dis. Oprah was notorious 4 making derogatory remarks about Nigeria, but she is welcome all d same. |
Our ball control was poor. Our short players were kicking d ball rather too high. We played better against Venezuela. |
At all those wondering what this post is doing here: you only insult someone on NL by WRITING something. Please, what thread is this? |
@ foyeks2001. I think u r just pro-hearsay. |
@ Rooneyboy. It is better to say nothing & it means something, than 2 say something & it means nothing. Can u work at a bank's counter? |
@ sayso. How many churches make such prayers evriday! U will say d same prayers next year. As an aside, i don't think u answered d question. |
Whatever our disscusions may be, let us not veer towards tribalism. Sanusi is not really d problem, recall dat over 30 or so US banks failed this year. There is also a Global Economic Meltdown, how can we hope to be left out in all these. Let d tribalists in d house also remember dat d north, which Sanusi is ostensibly protecting, is also not excluded in this current problem. Finally, like som1 in d house holds, opinion is like a hole in d a*se, everybody's got one. |

Is enlisting d services of Oshiomole efficacious? Is d president admitting he is helpless or what? If he is really serious, let him seek d help of Wole Soyinka or Niyi Osundare. . . |

Miffed by the failure of the Federal Government to resolve the three-month strike action embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), lawyer and rights activist Morakinyo Ogele has threatened to drag the government to court if the logjam is not resolved in the next 14 days. Ogele, who spoke with The Nation in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, also revealed that he had started mobilising interest groups like the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), farmers, market women, artisans and youth groups for a mass action at the expiration of the ultimatum. He urged ASUU not to back down on the industrial action until the Federal Government accedes to its demands, saying "the country has enough resources to meet their demands of ASUU". The activist, who is also the National Coordinator of Ekiti Democratic Coalition Alliance (EDCA), pointed out that Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan recently unfolded the intention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to build a national secretariat for N11.9 billion. does this guy have the right? over what? He alleged that the re-branding campaign being championed by the Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili has cost tax payers over N700 million while the breakfast of National Assembly members cost N114, 000 per sitting. Ogele wondered why the Federal Government finds it difficult to turn around education and meet ASUU’s demands. He deplored an alleged plan to increase tuition fees payable in universities to the tune of N180, 000. "We are calling on all progressive-minded persons and groups, social crusaders, rights activists and other interest groups to join ASUU in this struggle so that the education sector that is lying comatose can be revived. "We are also warning the Federal Government to shelve its plan to increase the tuition fee being paid in the public universities from N40, 000 to N180, 000 as this is designed to make education a luxury in the country. The future of our students who have been at home for the past three months now hangs in the balance," Ogele said. Spread The Word |
