Trash.
They have said times without number that they are not Igbos, why are you bent on forcing them to be what they are not? Nobody wants to associate themselves with you. grin
Igbo's can be found in Abia, Imo, Ebonyi and Enugu only. Anambra is an Igala State, they only use Igbo as Language of Business.

He has a point in that particular post.

Ndiigbo called those humanoid creatures "Akalogoli. Notice it sounds familiar to Igala rendition of it "Okagoli". This is because Igala has proto Igbo people in its formation.
When I was small, and was with my grandfather in the villa. When you do something bad and he is angry, he would call you "son of Akalogoli". I once asked him what it meant, and he just said that they were evil creatures.
Mad o.

loud it hahahahahaha. You guys should create 1,000 thread about Ijaws. We are not moved by ipobs propaganda. Concerning the matter, Jaja was sold to us. We groomed him and accultured him the same way Barack Obama became an American. Thereafter he had a quarrel with the Manillas and left to another nearby land to settle. Jaja went to Opobo with over 14 Bonny families. Ijaw nation knows their own and don't need ipobs validation. Ijaw is ipobs greatest nightmare in South South zone.

I've been there many times, and the people there like to dey look person like blue film, especially when the person in question speaks Igbo to his colleague. Though I didn't spend much time there, I made it a self rule not to speak Igbo to anybody outside south east, I respect whatever people call themselves these days
Lol. This your experience funny o.

Presidency is based on zone, not tribe. If Etches and Ikwerre are pushing for Amaechi to become president then it means a South South President, which means that Ibibios, Ijaws, Ogojas, Efiks and others will also have the right to agitate to produce the President
They're running with the fact Amaechi can claim Igbo candidate, subtly overruling the SE candidacy. It's like when Kachikwu became CBN governor and Buhari said the Igbos have CBN governor. But Kachikwu is from the South.

Another question to answer is this. Jaja broke out from Bonny with a whopping 14 war house canoes and a large group of supposedly Ibani people. Then why till today is there a strong Igbo presence in Opobo viz a viz language and culture?

no wonder, in this age you haven't still leant about the trade houses of Opobo, read the logic, he was sold and he accepted his new tribe, he never went back to Igbo land
You people are making me laugh. Jaja became a very powerful businessman during that time from selling palm oil. If he never went back to Igbo land where did he get the palm oil he was selling to the British?

Bearing Igbo names doesn't make them Igbo. In the North it's not all those that bear Hausa names that are Hausa. Some of them are Northern Christians from other minority tribes.
This line is stale. The people who bear those Hausa names have their own traditions and culture as well as language which are very distinct. These people in question have no other tradition, culture or language separate from Igbo. They are not a separate group.

Another thing is that, though Jaja was said to be a slave I observe nothing was ever mentioned about the circumstances surrounding his sojourn into slavery. Godofuck231 and many Ijaw say the Igbo sold him to them. But that's not known for sure, what if he was abducted as was also the case during the slave trade, and forced to become a slave among the Ijaw people?
Politics › Re: South East Candidacy For 2023 In Upland Rivers. by SlayerForever(op): 7:46am On Aug 27, 2020
They ought to wait for their South South turn. They can't be Igbo whenever they like. At a point we have to stick it to them, make them know this. What is disturbing us now is lack of a functional leadership that can voice this sentiment to all and sundry in a very formal way.
Politics › Re: Igbo Or Ijaw, Who Owns Opobo? by SlayerForever(op): 12:20am On Aug 27, 2020
Also can one explain to me why majority of them in Opobo bear Jaja as name. It's rather strange seeing so many (unrelated) would be bearing the same name. Considering that the word "Jaja" does not mean anything and is only a poor corruption of something else.

Because of Nnamdi Kanu who took a blackboard to Opobo and taught them Igbo history. The natives so loved the way of the Igbos and became Igbo cultured.

Yes, Jaja was originally an Igbo man. The Ijaw society accepts anyone into our fold after the necessary rituals has been performed and an individual after performing the requirements can rise to become King if capable, and in the case of Jaja, he was one of the greatest rulers in precolonial Ijaw history.
God bless his soul.

We the Ijaws are never tribalistic
Why are the Opobo people Igbo acculturated?

The local indigenes are not inclined to Igbo.

Politics › South East Candidacy For 2023 In Upland Rivers. by SlayerForever(op): 11:43pm On Aug 26, 2020
I find it funny that many political observers in upland Rivers are actually very interested in forwarding candidates for a South East presidency in 2023. Where is all the we're not Igbo talk now? Can you imagine Ikwerre and Etche are posing to forward Amaechi as the candidate of choice? Why do they have interest in using our turn? Why not wait for the South South turn to forward their candidate? That's rather very audacious. Nigeria is a very strange place.

Mine was not a regret cos of the wisdom I apply,my wife and I have been planning the wedding before I travel down to Nigeria,on getting to Nigeria the expenses she brought to me was over 5m, I noticed she wanted to impress her friends and family,is not just right spending money unnecessary so I apply wisdom,I don't want to hurt her feeling by telling her I can't spent that kind of money on wedding, two days later I told her I'm going to the bank to withdraw cash with my foreign card so that we can start preparing,I went back home told her my account has been blocked for using the card in another country so I can't get money and the money in my Nigeria account is around 600k,she was disappointed, she told me she has 300k in her account.ladies and gentlemen,we plan all the wedding expenses on the 900k and I'm happy with my action till date.
You deserve more than a like for this comment.

The INC and IYC are expanding their territories. Smart guys I must confess. What is stopping IPOB from expanding too? Don’t be jealous of the Ijaws, because they are not the only ones with such foresight. The Benin Descendant forum have up their game from oral history to proper visitation of communities in Rivers state. Until you wake up one day to discover that Afara Ukwu has Benin ancestry, that is when you people will understand the game. grin cheesy grin
The Benin tactics won't stick anymore in Delta. As for those communities in Rivers, to God be the glory. But Opobo has no Benin trace, their situation is still salvageable.

Opobo can be what they want to be! People should be begging to join our ethnic group and not us seeking their hands in fellowship.

Let those which expansionist tendencies continue to knell and beg. We wish them luck just as we did when they went begging the Ndokis. cheesy grin
Forget o. The situation with Opobo is not the same as that with Ndoki then. Ndoki are hardcore Igbo no matter what, those ones who tried back then were wasting their time. But Opobo is precariously balanced, if you allow outsiders they will succeed with less effort.
