I've noticed that 98% of the men that abused their daughters were very young when they got married. most of them are in their late 30s and early 40s and their daughters are now teenagers. instead of these men to take their sexual prowess outside, unfortunately they take it on their daughters. 50% are also no longer married to the women that gave birth to these girls. My observations . |
witness 1 for alleged Dasukigate, don run leave APC and EFCC. Omisore will follow soon. at the end, the incompetent EFCC will lose the case against Fayose. |
A former Minister of State for Defence , Senator Musiliu Obanikoro , has retrieved his passports from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission , Sunday PUNCH can report . This is despite a directive by the Federal Government that 50 persons under investigations for fraud exceeding N50 m are restricted from travelling. An impeccable source in the EFCC told our correspondent that Obanikoro , who has an American passport and a Nigerian one , met certain conditions before his passports were returned to him. He said , “ Obanikoro was able to return over N100m out of the money he received from Dasuki. He showed genuine commitment to returning more money and assist the EFCC with investigations and his passports were returned to him . “ The fact that the commission returned the passports to him does not mean that he has been cleared. ” Obanikoro has been under investigation since 2016 for allegedly receiving N4. 7bn from the embattled former National Security Adviser , Col. Sambo Dasuki ( retd. ) , in 2014 . The former minister allegedly handed over about N 1. 3bn to former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State and another N1 .3bn to the then Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Osun State in 2014, Senator Iyiola Omisore. After Fayose was arrested by the EFCC last Tuesday , however , it was learnt that Obanikoro travelled to the US . “ Obanikoro travelled out on Wednesday evening , saying he wanted to go for medical treatment . He gave no date when he would return ,” a source said . The former minister, who has defected to the All Progressives Congress , had declared his intention to run for the Lagos West senatorial district election but shelved his ambition at the last minute . Meanwhile , it was learnt that Omisore had also recovered his passport from the commission. The former federal lawmaker was arrested by the EFCC in 2016 for allegedly receiving money from Dasuki through Obanikoro. He subsequently returned N 300m to the EFCC but his passport was seized by the commission . Omisore had written to the EFCC, requesting that his passport be returned to him so that he could travel for medical treatment but his request was turned down. However , the Osun State deputy governor , who recently contested the governorship election of Osun State on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, entered into an undisclosed agreement with the APC when the election was declared inconclusive . He was reported to have entered into a series of negotiations with the APC leadership to support the APC candidate in the poll , Gboyega Oyetola, but the details of the negotiations were never made public. It was during the negotiations with the leadership of the APC that Omisore was said to have recovered his passport from the anti - graft agency . Omsiore’ s media aide, Mr . Jide Fakorede, had said recently that his boss was no longer under investigation by the EFCC and that he was free to travel . He had said , “ Senator Iyiola Omisore was wrongly accused in 2016 and he surrendered himself to the EFCC for investigation and was given a ‘ clean bill of health’ by the anti - graft body after a thorough investigation . “ It is on record that no case was instituted against him in any court of our land and neither was he arraigned before any court either . He has been enjoying his freedom and has even presented himself for election into public office passing through all security screenings. So we ask, what is the noise about ? “ The basis for placement on the watch list and travel ban is to ensure that those answering EFCC charges are held within the country and for someone not having a current case with the anti -graft agency, there may be no basis to restrict his movement. ” Attempts to speak with the spokesman for the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren , proved abortive as he did not respond to phone calls on Saturday . When contacted on the telephone , Omisore rejected our correspondent’ s calls and subsequently sent a text message saying , “ Sorry, I can’ t talk right now. ” Our correspondent sent a text message to him on whether it was true that he had retrieved his passport from the EFCC based on his agreement with the APC but he had yet to respond as of press time . Meanwhile , it was learnt that the EFCC had slammed five charges against former Governor Ayodele Fayose . Barring any last minute changes, the former governor will be arraigned in Lagos this week for allegedly receiving money from Dasuki through Obanikoro. |
Sources close to the Kano State governor, His Excellency, Umar Ganduje has confirmed to LeadersNG that the embattled governor paid Islamic clerics he took to see President Buhari on Friday the 19th of October, 2018 the sum of Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000) each amidst allegations he collected Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000) bribe from contractors as kickbacks. The source said a total of 25 clerics escorted the governor to Abuja to see the president. LeadersNG can confirm that the governor paid a total of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Naira (N250,000,000) to get the clerics to go on the endorsement trip to Abuja. The source, however, said the governor did not bribe the clerics for their support to the president but only gave them “thank you for coming’ money. The source said the governor embarked on this move to show that he still enjoins the support of the president and prove to people back home in kano that all is well as he is fast loosing grip of the state politically. Kano State is one of the swing states in the 2019 general elections. The delegation of Islamic clerics who accompanied governor Ganduje now popularly called Gandollar back home in kano were mainly from the Tijjaniyya muslim sect. A presidential source who spoke to us said the courtesy call on President Buhari at the Aso Presidential Villa in Abuja was short and very unusual. The source said the governor and the visiting islamic clerics simply joined the president for the Friday prayers and he had a brief photo session with them. He said typically, the president would have invited them in for lunch but never did. The president left the Kano governor outside and went in for lunch with the Chief of Staff, some of his ministers and personal aides but never invited the governor and the islamic scholars in to join him the source said. The presidential source further stated that the president is unhappy with the governor over the bribe-taking video and that it has caused the APC government serious embarrassment considering that the president is well known for his anti-corruption stand. This comes few days after the Kano House of Assembly opened a probe into the bribe-taking videos that implicated the governor. |

Former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has appealed to the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East zone to support the party’s presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in his choice of Mr. Peter Obi as his running mate, to ensure victory for PDP in next year’s general elections. The former President’s appeal followed a statement issued on Saturday by leaders of the party in the zone stating that they were not properly consulted before Obi’s nomination was made public. In a statement addressed to party members which he personally signed, the former President counseled against insisting on obtaining a zonal endorsement for a vice presidential nomination, adding that it is the prerogative of the Presidential candidate to select the candidate he believes will help him to achieve his vision and goals for the nation. A statement issued by Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, the former President’s spokesman quoted Dr. Jonathan thus: “I therefore want to directly appeal to my brothers and sisters from the South East zone who are members of our party to reconsider their position and allow the presidential candidate of the PDP to select a candidate he thinks he can work with to be able to achieve the party’s development goals. Since Atiku has already nominated Mr. Peter Obi as his running mate, I am pleading with my party members from the zone to accept his choice.” Below is the full statement issued by Dr. Jonathan: “I thank members of our great party for the successful conduct of the primaries for the various elective positions ahead of the 2019 general elections. By holding transparent, peaceful and rancor-free convention and primaries across the country, our party has once more, taken the nation’s democratic exercise a notch higher, in line with our well-established tradition of deepening the growth of democracy in our nation. “I again congratulate all our candidates for various positions, including Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was overwhelmingly elected by our delegates as the flag bearer of our party in the 2019 presidential election. The popularity and positive reviews of the exercise across the country is a clear demonstration of national endorsement for the choices we made, going into the 2019 elections. “The task before us is to build on this firm foundation and momentum by pulling in one direction and working assiduously for the victory of these candidates at the polls. It is against this backdrop that I appeal for calm and understanding in the South East where my attention has been drawn to the fact that some leaders of our party are openly expressing their discomfort with the reported nomination of former Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi as Atiku’s running mate. I am told that some of our leaders in the zone have raised issues with the process of consultation that produced the Vice Presidential candidate. “I affirm that consultation is a key ingredient in every political process. Nonetheless, in the selection of a vice presidential candidate, a presidential candidate is allowed reasonable freedom to select his running mate based on loyalty, trust, experience, temperament and capacity to perform the responsibilities of the office. Anything other than this could create tension and acrimony between the presidential candidate and his running mate, even before the inauguration of the government. My plea is for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to be given a free hand to choose who he wants to work with as his Vice President without putting him through undue pressure. In this regard, only minimal consultation is required which doesn’t necessarily have to involve full regional review and approval. “We have to be careful not to give the impression that the process of selecting a Vice Presidential candidate cannot progress until a regional stamp of approval is formally procured. The system we are used to right from the First Republic is one that places the choice of a running mate at the behest of the candidate, based on his own convictions on capacity and compatibility. “From my political history beginning from Deputy Governor to President, I can say that this is the tradition and standard practice in countries where either the President and his Vice or Governor and his Deputy contest election on a common slate. In such instance, once a candidate emerges, he or she is given a free hand to select the person who understands his vision and plans for the country, as his running mate. I therefore want to directly appeal to my brothers and sisters from the South East zone who are members of our party to reconsider their position and allow the presidential candidate of our party to select a candidate he thinks he can work with to be able to achieve the party’s development goals. Since Atiku has nominated Mr. Peter Obi as his running mate, I am pleading with my party members from the zone to accept his choice.” |
