School: Humber college Program: Post graduate certificate Course: Project management Online application submitted on September 12, 2018 Biometrics done on September 21st, 2018 Medicals passed October 10, 2018 Passport request October 11, 2018.
My application status is still on background check.
Documents submitted: All cic documents SOP 2 and half pages Birth certificate Resume SSCE certificate NYSC Statement of results for bsc in banking and finance, and MBA. Original certificate still in process. Bsc was 2008, MBA 2012 Transcript for bsc, just sent that of MBA the day before yesterday. Proof of finance: My dad's acct of a little over 3m, pension statement of almost 5m & sponsorship letter, My uncle who is a citizen and co sponsor just attached his employment letter showing how much he earns (no acct statement or fund transfer, he works for government of Nunavut though), citizenship certificate and sponsorship letter. First semester School fees receipt (8,095.50 cad) and invoice I had treasury bills of 1.1m and also pension of 400k plus, didn't submit SOA. Employment letter, no letter of introduction from company Company ID Up front medical done on July 31, 2018 Police report done August 15, 2018
I had no landed properties document though I am a first son to my dad, but his houses have no full documentation which I didn't have the time to purse.
I decided to put my full details for those who still doubt it's impossible for post graduate diplomas or certificate applications to get approval. Funny enough I even have a masters. And I'm 31 Secondly, I work in customer care telecommunications, and stated in my sop that I wish to change career path to project management to avail myself with abounding project management jobs in telecommunication. So career path change is possible. Lastly, based on what I have seen here I wouldn't say I have strong home ties, I just stated in sop that I needed to better myself as a first son to be able to take care of my parents and 4 other siblings.
If my application was disserted here, truth is I would be told not a tight application . But I did my best based on what little I had available and relied on God to perfect everything, and I strongly believed... Thank you Jesus. I wouldn't lie I didn't fast and pray, but I prayed fervently.
I just did a implant hardware removal surgery for a tibia fracture I had in an automobile accident last year. Have to walk with crutches for at least 3-6weeks until holes left by screws have healed considerably, but that won't stop me from bursting into vfs on Monday.
BTW... For those who have done ppr, hope I can get my passport back before Friday on 26/10/2018 as I'm to resume work on Sunday being 28/10/2018.
Please forgive my long epistle, I'm so happy. For all trv hopefuls, don't give up. I'm a living testimony. |

Boss sent a PM .. please revert Chebe01: Hi,
I dont think at this stage, you should be reluctant to send them email reminders and be as much forceful as needed. You are expected to make such requests when your application have exceeded the usual timeline. 52wks processing time is ridiculous and while you are living your life, such delay in knowing your next "move" is unfair to say the least. I was once in your shoes (11wks) delay and I had a full funding too. I sent emails, twitter to the high commissioner, and also the MP representing the area I was going to. They all responded at varying times and I dont know if it helped my application to be finalized (I received my passport request a week later). Perhaps you should also send a CSE at https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
I can feel your annoyance. All the best |

I tap into your anioting and d faith and d goodness Congrats bros SirVal94: MY APPROVAL TIMELINE
Submitted online application (with upfront medical) - 15th June 2018 Biometrics Letter - came on 22nd June, but I gave my biometrics on 29th June 2018 at the Lagos office Eligibility review - started on 12th August 2018 (when I noticed) Passport request - 25th September. Submitted passport same day. No time...lool DLI - McGill University (MSc Bioresource Engineering)
Documents Submitted (Proof of Finance) All IMM forms Research assistantship award letter from advisor Letter of financial support from dad Dad's letter of investment from bank My statement of account (closing balance of 147k) 7 months pay slips (I am a Graduate Assistant in Nigerian university)
Client Additional Information SOP (a little over one page) Admission letter Degree certificate (2-1) Academic awards Employment letter from my university Letter of introduction (to the Canadian High Commission) from my university CV Birth certificate I later sent my study leave approval (from my university) as a CSE
McGill was on my neck. Deferring was not an option, becos I had already deferred from Fall 2017 to Fall 2018, so I could not defer any longer. I was given an ultimate deadline of 25th september by McGill, luckily, passport request came on the deadline. I kept sending mails and webforms to Lagos, Accra, Nairobi, Abu Dhabi. I even sent to Canada and Sydney offices...lool. Abu Dhabi and Sydney offices replied, saying my application is not being processed at their office but in London. From that day, London office started feeling me...an average of three mails and webforms every day morning, afternoon and night. In fact, my approval came in when I typing yet another mail to the London office.
During the waiting period, prayer was very helpful. I prayed my rosary, yes I am Catholic, like I have never done before. I also visited the Blessed Sacrament. Canada pple sabi humble person eeh!!!
For TRV hopefuls, hang in there. God go do am very soon. |

Congrats to you , i tap into your testimony, Happy for you .. And i am next in line Missbaby: APPROVAL ALERT!!! Online Application Submitted: June 16, 2018 Biometrics request: June 22, 2018 Eligibility review: August 9, 2018 Medicals request: August 9, 2018 Medicals done: August 14, 2018 Medicals passed: August 16, 2018 Passport request: August 30, 2018
DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED All required CIC forms Acceptance letter WAEC result Transcripts BA certificate (first class) – I also got a scholarship covering full tuition from my school in Canada but had to sort my living expenses NYSC Discharge Certificate Sponsors’ statement of account with closing balance of about 300k (business account) Sponsors’ treasury bill certificates – 10m Sponsors’ CAC Sponsors’ tax clearance certificate Sponsors’ international passport data page Letter of Intent
My sponsor was my cousin so I included a family tree showing relationship and her marriage certificate since we no longer have the same last name.
I didn’t include my personal statement of account and my home ties were my two siblings in Nigeria and the job prospects that I have in Nigeria based on my course.
First, I must state that my application was nothing but a miracle. After submission, I found nairaland and based on what I read on threads, I had some loopholes in my application like using a business statement of account, not submitting my personal statement of account, and not having the usual home ties like land and other properties.
I kept praying and believing God for his grace to cover the flaws in my application and He showed up for me! Nothing is impossible with God, you just need to have faith and He will show up for you mightily.
Best of luck to other TRV hopefuls |
