Racheal Udenna Foundation Tasks Women on Personal Hygiene during Menstruation Rachael Udenna Foundation, an Abuja-based Non Governmental Organisation, has advised women to observe personal hygiene during their menstrual cycle to avoid bacteria infection that can led to delayed pregnancy or giving birth to deformed new borns. Ms. Rachel Udenna, founder of the foundation, gave the advice on Saturday at 7 Guards Battalion Lungi Barracks, Abuja during an event organised to sensitise wives of some military officers on menstrual cycles, personal and environmental hygiene and female reproductive system. She defined menstruation as a monthly discharge of blood from a woman’s body, lasting between three to seven days depending on her body mechanism. “Menstruation is critical for every woman that is of age, it is a normal monthly out flow of blood that all women must expect, especially when they are not pregnant. “Learn to take care of your bodies during this period, clean up regularly, watch your hands and eat good food to boost your immunity. “Clean from front to back whenever you use the toilet and change your sanitary pad frequently, especially when they are full to avoid bacteria infection. ”Take more of fruits and vegetables to replace lost fluid during menstruation to enable the body rebuild itself,” she said. Udenna further advised women against the use of pieces of cloth during menstruation, adding that such cloth may have been infected. “Use only certified sanitary pads to remain clean and tidy during menstruation,” she said. According to her, infections during pregnancy can led to giving birth to a deformed new born. She, therefore, charged mothers to teach their girl child, especially what they should know at every stage of their development, so that they would be thoroughly guided as they grow. She said while menstruation presents with different symptoms such as abdominal pains, headache, and general irritation depending on the body mechanism of the individual, such symptoms should be seen as normal unless it becomes severe. She explained that women with irregular menstrual cycle may find it be difficult to count their ovulation period, unlike women with regular menstrual cycle. The event, which had large number of officers wives in attendance, was also attended by some teenagers. Doctors and nurses were also on ground at the event to attend to some of the women privately who may have some personal issues to raise. Sanitary pads and other items were distributed to the women at the event, and they commended the organisers for the gesture, saying it was quite expository. The Racheal Udenna Foundation is focussed on public health outreach, women empowerment, education, skill acquisition and philanthropic outreach targeted at the poor and vulnerable groups. |

yeldey:Oh really? That's cool. Maybe I'm no longer keeping abreast in that sector since i left it. Congrats to him once again |
Davidhnk:Lmao..... Management Trainee Position for N8.7M plus other entitlements in a manufacturing company? None pays that in Nigeria, bro. Well well well.... Congrats |
Lmao.... I have said this and i will say it again. Anybody that is making money from any online investment, forex etc, will never have the time to spare 1 hr to teach you for any amount, unless on weekends when the market is closed. Anybody charging you a fee to teach you forex that is unpredictable and highly risky, is a scammer. Run for your life! |
Lol,..... This story is good because it helps increases the belief of the downtrodden that one day things will be better if he keeps working harding and praying. Aside that, there were serious flaws and my question goes thus: 1) How can a management position in a company employ someone without cognate experience? 2) You mind telling the name of the organization and the link to the advertised vacancy? I'm not disputing your story, though, it seems clearly something is amiss. Congrats anyway |
Dangote is a private citizen just like every one of us. He is not a State Governor or the President of Nigeria, and as such, it is not resting on his shoulder to help better Kano, that's the job of government. He is businessman, so he is always looking for ways to add to his fortunes. If Kano presents advantages over other states, he will consider it and invest appropriately and don't forget he owns a foundation that does charity more than any indigenious foundation in Nigeria. Please do away with this mindset, it look entitled. |
Just a head up, my people, I know with the Lockdown and inactivity in the economy, many are desperate to find an alternative to making money. This is quite good, but be careful of parting the little amount you have to people claiming to teach you how to make $500, $700, $1000 or any amount in a month. All of these people NEVER made 50,000 Naira a month from this so called knowledge of theirs. If they are actually make money from this knowledge, i bet you, they wouldn't have the time to "waste" some hours to do training for you. Please use that money to stock up and eat well during this period. Things will get back to normal soon. Engaging someone who renders a service is different and can be considered if you are interested in the services that person renders at an agreed fees. Please don't pay for services upfront. Be safe out there. |
Good idea, wrong move... Why can't they adopt 112. In a sane country, there should be a National Emergency Number and not one for each states. If every state is require to have their own emergency numbers, we would end up with 37 including one for the FCT. Now tell me, is this how people with brains operates? 37 Emergency Numbers ![]() |
