Thank you for positive feedbacks like this. South Africa is really a beautiful country. Asides the frequent Xenophobia issue which are sometimes likely sponsored by politicians to create unrest, and the crazy crime rates in some areas, it is an Amazing country. Every Country has a problem they are dealing with. Western Cape is like a Country on its own (As Big as the Whole of England) and there a lot of things to do in South Africa.

I passed through camps bay yesterday was just shouting Jesus under my breath. The place fine die. The scenery is out of this world.

Visited the botanical garden, birds and monkey sanctuary, and one other place in Hout Bay.

I hope to visit as many places as possible before I leave. In fact, I’m spoilt for choice.

I booked a five days tour ticket, with about 70 attractions to see.

Abeg, where the blacks dey? I hardly see blacks. I see mostly whites and colored people, except when I visited one shanty part today on tour.
I’m beginning to think that the population of whites and other races in South Africa are more than the blacks

Their clubs on long street are like European clubs with whites everywhere. I’m not getting the vibes I got in Nairobi, as per clubbing.

If I had known, I would have come to Cape Town straight , instead of stopping in jo’burg for 3 days.

As per migration, Make una find me one Southy chick to marry. grin. I can take care of her.

Nice one mate:

kaakaa:
Hello all, just to drop something positive....
so I applied for South African visit visa on the 11th of this month at the Vsf office in Port Harcourt and i picked it up on the 20th from same place with 3 months visa in it.
I have been to USA thrice, china twice, SA once.... I heard having a previous sa visa shortens subsequent visa processing time. Quess that helped...

For the first time am happy I didn’t check Nairaland first b4 applying bc I would have been discouraged to apply with the many delays n refusal here.

After reading most of this page and seeing many long processing time,I was already planning a withdrawal by January cos I need to use my passport for sth else by January and boom, I got a msg to come pick up my passport... I couldn’t believe it, I was so relieved, wasn’t even worried about not getting the visa, just knowing the result on time was sweet....

Please if you want to apply, do so without fear, every case is different!
Good luck!

I Laughed at the thought of Protest. It is really funny that the thought about protesting because a country is deliberately not allowing Nigerians enter their country. That protest energy should be saved for protesting for good governance in Nigeria.

Restricted:

There is really NOTHING funny about what you said and your comparison of the US embassy is absurd. It takes max 1min for you to know your fate at the US embassy. Although protest is not the way to go but holding on to peoples passport endlessly for months is totally wrong but you wouldnt know this cos an average Nigerian is desperate and would rather wait no matter how long it takes for the visa to be ready. There was a time they issue visas in 3days max. What has changed? Why these unnecessary delays? And this statement of yours "You Paid for visa application not for visa to enter" really shows how you think. That statement is completely flawed.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by slickruler: 6:40am On Oct 18, 2019
What exactly do you want to protest for? That they are vetting who comes into their country or what? You Paid for visa application not for visa to enter. Can you talk of protest in the US embassy LOL cheesy grin grin grin grin grin

ethenool:
Really sucks how South African embassy finds it so convenient holding on to applications for tourist visa for months. I think it's best we protest. We can't continue keeping mute and allow them continue with this substandard act. We paid for the visa, so it's our right. My people wake up!!!

Are you serious?! He gave up an opportunity to study in SA due to reports of xenophobia from social media? To remain in this same Nigeria with so much masked distrust and hate amongst tribes? Isn't Boko Haram ravaging the North East, but you are probably living in some other part of the country, carrying on with your life without any thoughts about BH.

Have either of you ever been to South Africa? Ever experienced the standard and quality of education at their universities?

Anyway, I wish you all the peace that you seek and I pray you guys never look back to this decision with so much regrets.
Travel / Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by slickruler: 1:02pm On Sep 10, 2019
Hahahahahaha... You are very correct. Thats sounds crazy really.. Going door to door.. That is a big lie. Most of the image making rounds on Social media are old images and videos that did not even happen in South Africa.

cdokoh:
Lol, sometimes it marvels me to hear some statements people make and how they expect others to believe in it... "your biz partner told u they go door to door to fish out Nigerians and slaughter them"?

How do you people live with yourselves knowing fully well you concoct stories to drive a rift n propagate hate among people.

Why not advise people on their plans to go to SA & leave it that, instead of spreading false stories. That's how people are uploading videos of mayhem that took place somewhere else just to get Nigerians to retaliate...

Abeg make we sha use our sense... There's no gain in lies n violence

Fear Fear People.. From the beginning of Time. Man has been none to Migrate in search of a better Life.

You mentioned AirPeace?? Is it not Propaganda Anyways.. Every Aboki with him Kettle...

queenfav:
Toh, life is per head.. Only a Nigerian will see everywhere else but his country as more better even in the light of killings and hostility. Go on Twitter and see the support from south Africans for the killings going on. So many of them hates Nigerians and don't see anything wrong in their actions towards Nigerians .
.
.
Whereas Nigerians living there are scared for their life daily.A business partner there told me how they were going from door to door to slaughter Nigerians. I can understand the plight of people there, some have businesses and jobs they have worked hard at for years. It won't be so easy coming home to start afresh.

.
However, those that not yet there but still looking for visa to the same SA? What's the motive? Even the embassy is closed for now, so what's the desperation for. No amount of money or degree is worth your peace in life. If it wasn't serious, Airpeace won't offer free flights to Nigerians coming back home from SA. Anyways, I wish u guys all the visas you seek, may God be with u all.

.
.
For the records, my husband has been preparing for go to SA for a marine course. We just wrote the school about the recent happenings and they themselves could not assure him of his safely while in SA. Based on that, a refund of his fees has been processed to his account.

This is very misleading.. Very very very misleading..

This is my 11th month here. My First Month I stayed with a South African in his flat ( A work Colleague.). Not all South Africans are Xenophobic. The real problem is hunger/poverty/hatred (when una dey collect their women).

Lets tell ourselves the truth, 80-90% of Nigerians i have met here are here undocumented and Illegally. You applied for a visit visa and you have been here for 3-5 Years. No source of income, you resort to fraud and drugs. Giving the rest of your country men bad names.

I have met Nigerians who do Menial jobs from Mechanics to carpenters, uber and truck drivers. But a huge chunk gives the good ones a bad name. Its so bad that even when other Foreigners do something wrong they are easily tagged as Nigerians..

Yupng:
It is quite a shame that some supposedly Nigerians who claim to reside in SA are here encouraging Nigerians to still visit South Africa despite the very glaring discrimination and maltreatment of Nigerians in SA.

I lived in SA for close to 3 years, both capetown and Johannesburg and I will state this clearly, South africans hates Nigerians with extreme passion across all levels of society. On a first glance, you might not see this, but just live among them for a while, you will begin to notice the deep hatred they have towards black africans, especially Nigerians.

This uprising will not stop, as their government also wants low income foreigners to leave. Stop encouraging Nigerians to go south africa where at all levels they are discriminated against. Besides, 80 percent of Nigerian's living in south Africa are extremely poor, as people over there would rather trust a snake than a Nigerian.

For once, Nigerians in SA please speak the truth. It is this falsified information you spread that makes many Nigerians rush to SA and end up jobless and go into illegal businesss.

Do you know how many Nigerians have been killed by south africans and their policemen? Because it has not happened to you doesn't mean it is not happening. If you have any respect for your life or you believe you have any sought of future, do not go to south Africa.

Thanks for this Bro.. You hit the nail at the head

Geenosko:
@ Yupng

Having read your post, I will say that you are deliberately twisting information to suit your narrative.

1. No Nigerian resident in SA on this platform has encouraged illegal migration to SA. I and others have spoken against it several times in this group.

Those coming for visit, we have always advised limit your visit to certain areas and leave at the end of your authorised stay.

2. Every life lost is a terrible loss but everyone who is honest with themselves knows that Nigerians who are killed by police are 99% drug related.

Even the advisory that the Federal government issued clearly said avoid "hot-spots and volatile areas"

The narrative that you are pushing suggests that the whole of South Africa is a war zone which is clearly not the case.

That you have experienced hatred from South Africans does not invalidate the account of people who haven't and it also invalidate yours either.

Can you point out with specific references the so called "falsified information" that Nigerians in SA have spread here?

Emotions are high but please let's be objective in our communication and present a balanced view of the situation and let people take an informed decision.

Thanks for your response.. I am already working here and this is my 8th Month. All that was needed was My Employment letter/Recent CV/Passport Data page/ CSV Permit sent to permitcompliance@dha.gov.za

iogochukwu:

Well, Congratulations Slickruler on your critical skills work visa permit (CSWVP). What that requirement basically says is that you are expected to get employment within twelve months of the issuance of your CSWVP. So that does not stop you from travelling to SA. Its a simple notification that you are now employed. However, I know that there is a particular organization in Lagos that actually provide CSWVP support services.

Sage7:

It is no longer news that they don’t want Nigerians there anymore.

I met a guy at O.R Tambo Joburg, he said he came in 5days ago and was detained in their cell. They retrieved his PR for reasons he doesn’t understand. He got a lawyer for 2000 rands, eventually fined in court for 10000rands, booked a ticket back for 5000rands. He did not wash his body for 5 solid days.

The most touching is the number of Nigerians he met at the cell. He said these Nigerians are willing to come back but they want them to pay 10000 rands before release. There are some people who booked return flight for deportation more than twice & were still kept hostage making them miss their flight because of certain issues ranging from fines, inconclusive court decisions etc.

He begged for perfume to be sprayed on him because he was oozing which I had to give him.

It is getting worse, even our consulate over their don’t assist in circumstances of relevance.

They are ready to reduce, likewise USA, the number of Nigerians in their territory. Some Nigerians have battered our image and it is skin deep.

Hello Everyone..

Please who knows a phone number or email address of anybody at the SA High Commission.

This is really becoming embarrassing because its better this people tell us they are not giving out visa's anymore let people know there stand.

My fiancee's visa has been denied for the second time. I am here on critical skills visa since October. Sent her all the required docs she that was requested on her first application. She was denied on the ground that my offer letter was not attached.

She submitted another application on 3rd of may with my Employment Letter and all my Payslips certified from the SAP (SA Police). She received it this morning and it was denied again that "Host should submit critical skills work visa with endorsement of the company assigned to". I got my critical skills by myself before i got my job. Whoever did this

What type of rubbish is that one We submitted 6 months Payslip/ 6 months Bank Statement / My Contract Letter all certified.

I dont want to go into details how pissed I am at the moment. How much money and time has been spent on this. Not to talk stamps on her passport. My tax here can pay 2 people here comfortably so i dont see why someone wont do his job well.

That's it... I am done with this country. They should eat there visa.

Planning my way out already. Anyone looking for Critical Skills.. Focus the energy on other countries please Canada/Australia. This guys are becoming something else. My Candid advise. I am sure a xenophobic black handled this because the whites dont have problems here contrary to other opinions..

I still need an Email address/Phone number.. Whoever has should buzz me privately and share. Thanks

YOu did well Mr Oyato.. This is information people will ask payment to get.. nice one.. Commenst like this should be pinned.

mroyato:

You may find the following tips useful for your questions.

1. Regular visa application fee is 32710. If you choose to do the VIP application then you pay an extra 10k meaning you have to pay 42710. If you require the services of a courier company to deliver your passport when it is ready you pay an extra 3k.

2. Those guys are not thugs. They are hustlers trying to make ends meet. That's their office. That's what they do for a living. They are there to help you.
To answer your question, yes they can make hotel and flight reservations for you at a token. You can also choose to make the reservations for yourself if you know how to.

There are some shops very close to the vfs centre. You will find a lot of people doing photocopy and all there. Enter any of those shops and tell them what you want. Don't ask any of the guys standing on the road.

3. Yes you can make reservations on the day you are submitting but the reservations must carry the dates of your intended travel and return.

4. Once you get a visa to South Africa, you can visit any state of your choice within South Africa.

5. I cannot say for sure whether VIP application makes the visa processing faster but one thing that is certain is that it will save your time with a lot of comfort.

6. You need to make your application air tight. Go with all the necessary documents and make sure they are genuine. If you are sponsoring yourself make sure your statement of account is healthy. Write a decent self introductory letter and get a letter of introduction from your employer. Lastly, the God factor is important too.

Kind Regards.
