So it is completely false to suggest gas from Nigeria is what keeps the lights on in Ghana. This is a deliberate attempt to mislead people and you should therefore withdraw what you said. Ghana’s electricity is NOT powered by Nigeria’s gas.

Its a kind of quid pro quo arrangement where Togo, Ghana, Niger, Benin are given electricity to stop them from damming the River Niger because if they dam it for their electricity generation, Nigeria would be thrown into darkness. If they dam the River, there'll be not enough water to power Kanji dam and many others in Nigeria. Farmlands in North West and even part of South West would become arid. That means mass food shortage in Nigeria.

If Ghana, Togo, Niger, Benin wants, they'll actually destroy Nigeria's economy simply by damming the River Niger. I think they're even stupid for allowing Nigeria fleece them over the years, instead of building their own dam.

I actually mentioned it a few days ago this's the way to have Nigeria open its border.
