Sagamite: Yes the flogging worked.
The flogging helps us reduce teenage pregnacy to levels well below that of the unflogged in the West. Whether you like it or not, that suppression is wonderful and way better than the 'corrective' crap resignation of sex education being practiced in the West. They spend millions of pounds on this corrective tool and waste a lot of man-hours and yet still fail when compared to our oppression tools.
The flogging helped as the average Nigerian child from a decent school in Nigeria (even the FGCs) when transferred to the UK school does better than the unfloggeds here that were educated with 100 times better resources.
Cultism is prevalent because of lack of enforcement of laws. They smack very well in Ghana, yet why is there no cultism in their universities? They smack in Cameroun, how come there is no cultism in their universities? They smack in Qatar, how come there is no cultism in their universities? They smack in Malaysia, how come there is no cultism in their universities?
So why do you keep allocating the presence of cultism in our university to flogging? I don't get it, this argument beats me. I am right behind you. I did not die from being flogged and neither would my children. |

all I know is that in all my years of secondary school, I never saw any body I know dropped out from my school and neither did any of my mates suffer from depression/mental disability resulting from whopping/flogging! I am tired of these teachers in the US calling my parents reporting that my teenage brothers didn't do their homework! uuuhm, WHOP the hell outta them! they ain't doing anything except video games. |

is not as bad as many of you make it to be. I think is more effective than a mere time out or go to your room! this discipline made me/us stronger. I hated it then but it thought me how to do what am suppose to do early and on time! In the real world if you don't take care of ya responsibility there are harsh consequences, either you get fired, expelled, dismissed etc. I got whopped so many times as a kid but that it put me in check! I am tired of telling my siblings here in the US to do homework, do dishes, take a bath etc OVER and OVER. Many times, they get up on their ass when I eventually yell! but of course, one man's headache is another man's dessert. |

what about the power of satan? that one fit make people fall. many of this annoiting this, annoiting that doesn't come from God. if it does what is the essence of it? you fall, you get up and go back to living in this scartered/messed up system of things. absurd! |

I hawked, tomatoes, pepper, ice water, soda/mineral, cooked ground nuts, Okra, crayfish, mango and other things I can't recollect. I hated pepper the most! many times I had to go around the corner and cried my eyes out because the oozing pain was too much coupled with the scorching sun. I thank God sha! now am in washington state US and in pharmacy school! can you beat that? |

aksat: please! this does not call for abusing eachother we are here to learn.
@slimfine,tudor; u of little faith. is it not recorded in ur Bible or Quran that mary miraculously gave birth to Jesus as a virgin? at least if u don't belive the Bible u will belive the Quran.
There is a great mystry behind d birth of Jesus.that is why He was not like any other man on earth. he could have Jumped down from heaven yes! He could, but becos the scriptures has to be fufilled he has to come out from somebody.
the main point there is that Jesus only used mary as a medium to come to this world, that is why He was not brought forth by any intercourse but by the mavelous power of God. that is why you should belive that He is not the son of any man but the son of God. I know and believe miraculous birth of Jesus but am shocked at Tudor for cooking up the question that I highlited! |

the article is alright but doesn't it suggest that God curses us to suffer? the world is full of wickedness and as such, we experience life full of turmoil produce by the wicked world, satan and unforseen contingencies. but as believers we look to Jehovah God for strength so God took my grand parents/all my dead loved ones becuase he wants me to be stronger!
