How many times do they always withdraw and silently return them to the vips. Vips should be made to patronize private security instead.
Nigerians should not be the one bearing the cost of a rich man moving around with mopols that should be protecting the lives and properties of the masses.
Our party, the APC in Kano, is making all possible preparations to welcome Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, along with members of his party, the NNPP, including our Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Political Mobilisation and Engagement, Eugene Utubor, on Wednesday, said that the defection of Labour Party Senator Neda Imasuen to the All Progressives Congress is imminent.
Utubor, who met with Imasuen on Tuesday night in Benin, stated that the senator is inclined to join the APC, adding that efforts are underway to ensure he strengthens the party’s ranks both at the national and state levels.
The Labour Party in the state, as well as at the national level, has been embroiled in a prolonged leadership crisis and internal factionalism.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges has, on several occasions, avoided questions regarding his continued membership of the Labour Party due to the ongoing turmoil within the party.
Utubor said, “I can tell you that Senator Neda Imasuen will join the All Progressives Congress in the coming days. I was with him on Tuesday, and his body language speaks volumes.
“Imasuen believes that the governor has performed remarkably well in such a short time, and it is crucial that we unite to support the governor’s vision for our people.
“He has encouraged every well-meaning Edo citizen to rally behind the governor as he works diligently for our collective progress.”
In recent times, Imasuen has been frequently seen at public functions alongside notable APC leaders in Edo State.
He is said to maintain a cordial relationship with members of the ruling party in the state.
No fewer than 216 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gagarawa local government area of Jigawa State.
The defectors were formally received into the APC during a “Citizens and Government Engagement Forum” held at the local government headquarters.
The event was attended by the state governor, Malam Umar Namadi, and other top government officials.
At the occasion, Governor Namadi explained that the forum was established to allow the electorate to hear about the government’s achievements over the past two years and its plans.
It also allows citizens to voice their demands and challenges for prompt government intervention.
Governor Namadi emphasised that the forum is open to all Jigawa citizens, regardless of political affiliation, and that his administration is always ready to listen to genuine complaints and constructive criticism.
He reiterated his government’s commitment to implementing projects and programmes to improve people’s lives and ensure a prosperous and great Jigawa State.
During the event, six commissioners from various ministries presented a list of projects executed in the area under Governor Namadi’s administration.
These included road construction, empowerment programmes, renovation and completion of health facilities, such as the Gagarawa General Hospital, which is now ready for commissioning.
Also, employment opportunities, scholarships, classroom construction and renovation, women’s empowerment, and welfare initiatives were executed in the area, among other things.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Malam Habibu Dangodo handed over their membership list to the Jigawa State APC chairman, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel.
Dangodo explained that their decision to join the APC was inspired by Governor Namadi’s purposeful and visionary leadership, which has renewed hope for a better life filled with opportunities and prosperity.
“Governor Namadi’s leadership has convinced us that the APC truly means well for Gagarawa local government and Jigawa State. We felt it necessary to join hands in building a modern, prosperous, and greater Jigawa,” Dangodo stated.
Geez. What's the population of these places that they are having people in their 100 thousands. And these are the ones captured in the system. The ones not captured are likely going to be double those numbers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6rOf0KRJoE Amid rumours that the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has concluded plans to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he was seen alongside his cabinet members singing the "On Your Mandate" song.
"On Your Mandate" is a song tied to President Bola Tinubu. Alongside Governor Eno of Akwa Ibom State, Sheriff has publicly endorsed Asiwaju's second term bid.
Delta has produced a PDP Governor since 1999.
Former Governor and former VP candidate, Okowa, is moving to APC too.
“Be assured that we will not go in the wrong direction; we will take the best direction, the best path for our people.” - Former Delta State Gov Ifeanyi Okowa has communicated with his constituents that he is moving to the APC
Its common sense. It has El Rufai's fingerprint all over it. Same thing is about to start in Northern parts of Kwara. They want power back in the North at all cost.
The origins of the carnival dates back to the Lagos colonial period when the Brazilian former slave returnees came back to reside in Lagos in the 19th century. The carnival was re-instated in 2010. The event is usually centered on Lagos Island, filled with troop displays of costumes and various forms of entertainment including music and dancing. The carnival portrays an eclectic mixture of Nigerian, Brazilian and Cuban heritage of the city.

Born to rule mentality. Same threat Amhadu Bello made in the 1950s that made Azikiwe to abandon the southern coalition and instead joined forces with the North to form a government where he was made a ceremonial president while the North took the powerful Prime Minister position.
Unfortunately for Baba-Ahmed, An Azikiwe no longer exist in this era.
Max24: Not surprised. Same happened under Obi in Anambra. He couldnt pay doctors salaries for 8 months. Imagine if he was the president, by now all agencies of govt would have been on Strike. Someone who could not pay state workers salaries, how will he pay mulltitude Federal workers? Obi is a leaner where Tinubu dey.
Under Peter Obi, Anambra doctors went on strike for 13 months.
The irony was that a lot of Anambra women needing maternity care moved to Ondo under LP to use the Mimiko's Abiye and Mother & Child Hospital initiatives back then.
Epistasis: Audio Governor, he is the best thing that happened to Abia after Akwa garri. The way Obidients will defend this man hennnn, even devil do fear .
Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule yesterday declared that the North would not waver in its support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
The North, the governor insisted, would not pander to the whims and caprices of a few who want to equate their personal interest with that of the majority of the people of the region.
Governor Sule spoke on a day the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, said Tinubu would be re-elected comfortably regardless of “the volume of armchair theories and political conspiracies” by opponents.
The President’s performance ‘will clear the path,” Dare said.
Speaking at the 2025 Nzeh Mada Festival in Akwanga, Akwanga Local Government Area of the state yesterday, Gov. Sule said it had become imperative for the North to work towards the actualisation of Tinubu’s return in 2027.
According to him, supporting the President’s re-election would be a fulfillment of the promise the region’s leaders made ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Sule, who doubles as Chairman, North Central Governors Forum, said the North is not known for reneging on its promise.
He urged North’s stakeholders to disregard the agitation of a few politicians who are bent on causing confusion in the polity on account of their failed personal ambition.
He said the same politicians were among the region’s leaders who sold Tinubu’s candidacy to the people in 2023.
He said: “Some politicians will always create confusion if they fail to get what they want or achieve their targets.
“As a junior governor then, some of the older governors told us that the best person for the presidency was Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“They told us Tinubu can transform Nigeria the same way he made Lagos an epicenter of business and commerce.
“It was a challenging period but we worked hard to bring Tinubu into office.
“Today, the same people, because they couldn’t get what they were looking for, are criticising Tinubu; that he is the worst President Nigeria has ever produced.
“Well, whether he is the good, the bad or the ugly, by the grace of God, we are bringing back Bola Ahmed Tinubu to continue as president of Nigeria.”
He said the North made a firm commitment that having been in the presidency for eight years, the South should have its turn.
“So, we cannot do the contrary. We cannot say something today and say another tomorrow.
“So, we have to be patient and support the President to do his eight years in office,” he noted.
Only last Wednesday, prominent members of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc in the All Progressives Congress (APC) pledged their support for the Tinubu administration and its policies.
They also pledged loyalty to the APC.
Former Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, the only elected CPC governor; former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari, who was House of Representatives Speaker, and Minister of Education in the Muhammadu Buhari Administration, Alhaji Adamu Adamu, signed a communiqué after a meeting of the CPC bloc, along with 20 others.
It was in reaction to the switch by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, a member of the CPC bloc, to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) last month.
Similarly, the North Central Renaissance Movement (NCRM) has expressed support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 polls.
Chairperson of the movement, Prof. Nghargbu K’tso, during a visit to Governor Sule in Lafia on Friday, also advocated that the North Central Zone should produce the President after 2027.
Meanwhile, as a precursor to Tinubu’s bid to get the north to back him in 2027, THISDAY further learnt of a meeting this weekend in London between the president and a major opposition figure from Kano State.
