CrimeNDLEA Intercepts Malaysian Returnee With Meth Concealed In Music Speakers by Slytiger(op): 10:49pm On Apr 13, 2025
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said that its operatives intercepted and arrested a Malaysian returnee who concealed methamphetamine in music speakers.

The agency said its operatives also intercepted multiple drug consignments and arrested several suspects involved in trafficking narcotics and a trans-border trafficker caught with over 8,000 ampoules of powerful opioids.

The NDLEA’s Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, made this known in a statement issued on Sunday. The Malaysian returnee, 41-year-old ex-convict Ndubuisi Udatu, also known as Richard, was arrested at a checkpoint in Namtari, along the Ngurore-Yola Road in Adamawa State, on Monday, April 7.

The NDLEA spokesperson said Udatu, a former inmate in Malaysia for drug-related offences, was caught with two large music speakers containing four parcels of methamphetamine weighing 2.7 kilograms.

According to Babafemi, the drugs were meant for distribution in Yola, Mubi, and across the border into Cameroon.

He added that the sum of ₦22,300 was also recovered from the suspect.

In a separate operation at the Nigeria-Cameroon border in Mfum, Cross River State, Babafemi said that NDLEA officers, in collaboration with Customs personnel, arrested 35-year-old Odoh Peter Ikechukwu.

He said Ikechukwu was found in possession of 8,740 ampoules of assorted opioids weighing a total of 395 kilograms.

The consignment included 1,080 ampoules of fentanyl injection, 2,160 of morphine sulphate, 3,010 of phenobarbital sulphate, 2,160 of pethidine, and 330 ampoules of midazolam.

In Kano, NDLEA operatives arrested 27-year-old Aliyu Ibrahim on Friday in the Bachirawa area.

According to Babafemi, Ibrahim was found with 20 ATM cards and 25,600 pills of tramadol (225mg and 250mg).

In a follow-up operation in Gwagwalada, FCT, Abuja, 48-year-old Gambo Lawan was apprehended at Wazobia motor park.

Babafemi said that Lawan’s arrest followed the seizure of 8,960 pills of tramadol earlier on April 7 along the Gwagwalada expressway.

Meanwhile, in Niger State, 124 kilograms of skunk, a potent strain of cannabis, was discovered on April 11, hidden in the boot of a Lexus vehicle with registration number KTU 54 CU.

The NDLEA spokesperson stated that the driver, 58-year-old Ademiluyi Adedapo Collins, was taken into custody along the Mokwa-Jebba Road.

Only in Nigeria can a convicted drug lord become president and still be hailed like a hero. If that's acceptable, then every drug dealer — from Mushin to Medellín — deserves an apology and compensation. Why? Because clearly, crime isn't just forgiven in APC — it's rewarded. In fact, if the Anti-Christ himself picked up the APC ticket, some die-hard supporters would probably print posters and sing his praises at campaign rallies. Anything goes in this circus.

PoliticsMan Arrested In Anambra For Killing His Mother Over Cassava Proceeds by Slytiger(op): 3:32pm On Apr 13, 2025
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested one 49-year-old, Nnamdi Anyaji, for allegedly murdering his 68-year-old mother, Mrs. Dorathy Anyaji, and attempting to take his own life in Amudo Village, Ekwulobia.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the tragic incident occurred at approximately 1:40 PM on Friday.

Ikenga said officers attached to the Ekwulobia Divisional Police Station responded swiftly to the scene, where the suspect was apprehended, and an axe believed to have been used in the crime was recovered.

He said preliminary investigations revealed that the dispute arose from a disagreement over proceeds from a cassava business, with the suspect accusing his mother of dishonesty.

According to the police spokesperson, Mr Anyaji is currently in custody under close observation to prevent further self-harm, adding that he will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

In a separate operation on the same Friday, Ikenga said that police operatives from the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugu-Ukwu, raided a suspected drug den at Umuokpala Village in Orumba North Local Government Area.

Acting on credible intelligence, officers arrested 12 young men allegedly involved in the sale and consumption of illicit substances.

Police operatives also recovered from the scene various quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, other illicit drugs, and incriminating items.

He identified the suspects, all males aged between 20 and 29, as Ifeanyi Bernard, Emmanuel Ugwu, Thankgod Kelechi, Umeh Chidera, Aguiyi Onyeka, Onyeka Martin, Festus Ihezie, Chibundu Nicholas, Solomon Obiefule, Chibundu Daniel, Neke Shedrack, and Nwazufu Kingsley.

He said the suspects and recovered exhibits have been handed over to operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and necessary legal action.

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, said 23 indigenes of the state are currently on death row in Indonesia for drug-related offences.

Soludo made this known on Wednesday while addressing a group of All Progressives Congress members who defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance in support of his re-election bid.

“Go to Indonesia, 23 Ndi Anambra are on death row there for drug-related offences,” he said.

He attributed the development to the influence of fake native doctors who deceive young people into believing they can evade security checks when smuggling drugs by using charms.

“These native doctors will deceive you that they will prepare a charm that when you carry drugs and enter the airport, the white man’s scanner will go blind.

“These young people believe them, and today, many of our people are languishing in jail across the world,” he stated.

Soludo warned that anyone caught making such deceptive claims would be arrested, noting that many of the self-proclaimed native doctors could not even use their so-called powers to improve their own lives.

The governor added, “One of the native doctors who is in detention, his son is a waiter in a hotel in Nnewi. If it was that simple, why didn’t he make his son a millionaire?

“One of them that we arrested has sworn that he is just a content creator, yet he has used things like these to deceive our young people that you can become rich without doing any work, as far as you have done oke Ite (money rituals).”

The governor said such beliefs were damaging the mindset of youths in the state.

“That is why you see young people who wake up in the morning and retire to beer parlours drinking, hoping to get rich later in life,” he added.

He clarified that the state is not opposed to traditional religion but is determined to clamp down on those who promote dangerous practices in the name of spirituality.

“We are not against traditional worshippers; what we are against is people who are doing dangerous medicines and charms.

“We have always known those who are into traditional practices, they have things they believe in, and they were about the most upright people then.

“Those were people who believed that if you did the wrong thing, you could be killed by the gods of the land. But what these new crop of criminal native doctors are doing is deceit, and we will not allow that to continue,” he said.

Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue the clampdown on promoters of Oke ite and other get-rich-quick schemes.

Toyota makes almost all its brands in America/Canada/Mexico. Trump simply wants others to follow suit.
But those ones are not escaping the tarrif one way or the other too. All those cars have parts from different part of the world and not all models are made in a specific country. Lots of models are still made in Japan. Those parts and those specific models will be dinged with tarrifs.
