8. Even when you get a job, both you and your employer will be interviewed by the ministry of labour. They want to know if there are no Batswanas who can do the job, a Batswana first, so if you must get a job, then it means nobody in Botswana can do the job and am sure there are, and even if there are non, they will prefer someone from the SADC region to take the position, so expect your application to be rejected.

Also note, before you apply or get your business permit, you need to have a functioning office, must have paid rent, then the home affairs staffs will come to inspect your office, if by the time they come, you can't give them a reasonable reason, or a viable business plan in place, your permit will be turned down, and you will need a permit to open a bank account, for a place like Swaziland, once your permit expires, they also shut down your bank account temporarily pending when your permit is renewed, the bank knows when your permit expires.

I have traveled around the SADC region a lot, so am telling you facts, they are also having an extreme financial meltdown at the moment.

I'll be simple and very straightforward. At the same time I won't be biased. Canada has reformed their visa/immigration policy, same in Germany, UK, next will be USA when Trump is sworn in.
In 2022 before I travel I had friends who travel to China, UK, Scotland, and other countries. 1year later majority of them that went to UK started advertising "Study in UK Admission". What happened? Are they trying to help others move to UK or they were financially broken down?

Firstly, I must say, before you travel out, please have in mind that rentals alone can be more expensive than your school fees. Reason being that rentals here are charged per month not yearly as in Nigeria, and it's not cheap. If you're receiving money from home you need to exchange to dollars, otherwise you'll look for ways to generate the money there 6month afterwards to ease the pressure. As of today 1usd is #1735. If your rentals is $300/month it means every month you'll pay #530,000 every month. Remember this is the cheapest accommodation you can find


Secondly, you may not have the permit to work yet if you're going as a student until you have a work permit. You don't just travel like moving from Ondo to Lagos and start working. No.

Thirdly, before I move to the main header. You'll always need assistance. Do you have relatives there? No! This means you must always have a backup funds at home incase of emergency because most landlords and agents their homes are for business. There's nothing like I'll pay later.

So with all these being said. Why do people take 5M , 10M, 12M , 30M traveling to UK when they can move to another African country live a secure life and balance their work, living and health together?

I present you African countries you must choose in 2025, be as a student or you're going for work mostly fresh graduate or skilled workers.

1. Botswana: This country is currently seeking foreigners to boost their population and productivity in the region. It's a small country with a population less than the smallest state in Nigeria. They offered good payment for different jobs. I have a friend currently working in health sector there and can be of help for anyone who wants job and travel to Botswana.
Currency 1USD = 13pula
Minimum wage (agriculture) = 2500 pula ($183.32) i.e #316,000 per month.
Pharmacy, doctors, nurses, teachers, and other professionals earn minimum of 3500 Pula, the lowest level in health sector. But can increase to 17,000 Pula depending on years of experience.
Add to that there's steady light as in Canada, there's jobs everywhere and the women are friendly to foreigners. They watch a lot of Nollywood movies and they love Nigerians.

2. Zambia : This country population is same size as Lagos Nigeria, with lots of tourists attraction annually like the great Victoria falls between Livingstone (part of Zambia) and Zimbabwe. Zambia has one of the most beautiful girls like South Africa. Their major languages are Bemba , Tonga, Nyanja. Their girls from lozi are the most beautiful just like Zulu girls. They speak and understand south African language, Zimbabwe and Tanzania.

Many Nigerians who travel to zambia find it difficult returning back home due to social lifestyle, freedom, and easiest means to travel to USA after just a year. Exchange this to dollars and to naira (which is 300,000 -603,000 naira per month). You'll notice that even a registered nurse (RN) with just a diploma earns more than a doctor with 10years of experience in Nigeria.
You might heard of Dr Ademola yusuf in YouTube, he's head of anatomy department teaching medical students at mulungushi university, you might heard of Prof Christian C Ezeala PhD,at Mulungushi University, and his wife, both are teaching in Zambia and lots more. I chat with him recently he transferred his daughter from Nigeria to study medicine at mulungushi university too. Why are you traveling to suffer in UK after 1,year?

Finally, you've discovered the best African countries to visit if you're planning to travel out in 2025, live a good life, peaceful, enjoy electricity, working and sending money back home which is the dream of every traveler.
I'll add that having money to travel is not the problem but how to maintain it when you get there. Including these African countries, rentals are monthly and minimum one room (not self-contained) in each capital cost nothing less than 80,000 naira per month. But you can adjust your budget and live far from the city. Usually there's always a bus going to town. You can find other cheaper accommodation down there going for #25,000 per month.

My advice for UK travellers : After 2years your relatives and friends will start putting their ears down why is he not sending something? Why is he quiet? They don't understand even your rentals alone is enough to feed them whole year.
Solution: instead of traveling to UK, take that 5million, or 10M travel to this African countries, buy land and build boarding house for students. These students will pay you monthly. Lets say minimum room for one person in sub town in Zambia is k1400. You have a building that host 10 rooms front and 10 rooms behind or a story building with 10 rooms down and 10 rooms up. You'll be making k28,000 kwacha monthly. That's approximately $1016 USD (about #1,750,000 million naira per month.) Is that JuJu? No, it's common sense and research.
Millionaires don't share their business ideas but I'm giving you one now for free. Every year students, works people travel and moved to another location. Having a property in such country is the best option to get their currency legitimately, when you're done and you want to comeback home, you can sell the property exchange it back to dollars and surprise your village People.

From my research it shows that with just the same amount you spend traveling to UK, you can build that in these countries and earn big. In just 10 months you'll have over 20 million naira. What happened in 2/3yrs? Like the UK boy who is showing his achievements after 2years in UK, how many apart from him can show that in 3yrs? Don't be fool. Many people in UK are suffering but they can't return home due to shame.
In 2years if you follow this update you're a multi millionaire.

For the benefit of others.

If you're in UK, you can't make such amount of money. In one way or the other the government will tax you and you'll end up rotating in £10,000 which is 10 million (naira equivalent). It's not easy to even make £5,000 and you can't hold in cash amount up to £2,000 without police questioning you.

1. You're a software engineer. I'm a medic and also a software developer (not engineer). When I travel out it took me 2yrs: 4month to settle down here (you know what I mean). But when the money started coming, it comes from what I develop not jobs. You can't make 100M from jobs, it has to be you're creating something and people are using your service like Microsoft, Jumia, Facebook, Dangote cement etc..and you're paying salary to others then such money is a change in 1yr.

2. As a developer, you must have your own product in apple store or android Google playstore with thousands to million downloads. I won't explain more here because secret of wealth is not to be disclosed except otherwise. It's a law.
But note that what I make in 8month after I settle down if convert to naira is/close to 8M. Meaning with steady reinvestment I can get up to 20M in a year. If you do your calculations it will take me 3-4yrs to make 100M from my legit business.

3. What are you doing to target 100M? Import/Export? This question should be digested first not for dummies. Who are your target audience? What's the job salary? Remember even in the USA only doctors (anaesthesia, surgeons) who had spend many years can make this in a year from their private practice or top hospital in the USA. Software developers don't stand a chance in a year. But from my experience. People like Olugbenga (owner of flutterwave - fintech), Laurin Hainy (founder Fairmoney loan app) can make those amount in a year without stress and they're paying good salaries. Remember I'm talking from experience. I don't know your job, but mine I have a app in Apple store and Google playstore with 1M downloads. I'm targeting 5M in 2years time and I make money from this app daily (30-45k a day). You can do your calculations in a month. From here I pay my workers, renew my license in this country, also settle my investors. There's no company without investors. That's a little of mine. Such money (100M) can't come from jobs. It must be from something you created as a developer but not jobs.

As a medical student here in CA, I'm not planning not even in my dream of coming down there to work even if it's government appointment. Let me explain for those of you not understanding but rush to comment and condemn those failed students.

1. In your university, what's the typical behaviour of your lecturer compared with those abroad? What's their interest? How do they lecture you and set exams for you? Answer and settle yourself.

2. Type of school/country/ language they study with. There's no student in US, CA, UK, China, Russia or even South Africa that will return to Nigeria to practice except the person is really in love to serve his home community. He/she will comeback not because of money but humanitarian services. For those coming back, 90% is that they study in a country which doesn't permit them to work after their studies. There are a number of such countries. Once your study permit ended you're not allowed to work unless you return home and apply for a work visa. In this case many of them will want to write the mdcn exams just to have the license so any time the return to the country they can practice. Also, they may choose to open their clinic and employ home based Nigerian doctors and they travel back to Europe. Don't forget language barrier in Russia, Ukraine, China and other countries.

3. There's so much bribe and corruption in Nigeria. Do you know how much it's now in Abuja or in your state when you ask a doctor to write/give you a medical report? Visit Abija Wuse General Hospital, National Hospital Abuja to confirm for yourself. So what do you think will happen in other poor states when they heard you're a foreign student coming to write exams? You'll pay bribe in millions. Believe me. Even during the exams you'll see some invigilators circulating answers for those who had paid them. It's business, and it's their time to catch out they don't care just like the average politicians. Everybody want to catch out. Some of these students are already exhausted and coming back home their parents can't afford again. They'll surely failed. How many of you write waec exams yourself? That's a mirror example.

4. Experience is different. You can't compare a medic abroad e.g in Asia, Europe, America, or southern Africa to a medic in West Africa. It's different. The same way when our doctors move to CA, US and fail exams and then turn cap drivers is the same way they fail back home. You think UK, USA or Canada and China will employ a junior doctor from Nigeria who doesn't have atleast 4-6 experience ? You think they just pick doctors from Nigeria anyhow? If that's true, even your neighbour who is a doctor would've migrated longtime. Believe me.

Recently tinubu has united exchange rates and most students abroad will not be able to pay fees and some back home won't be able to travel. This was a planned something with the British government when they say they want to reduce student from bringing their parents. We know already. So please calm down and let those poor students coming back seat up perhaps go to UTH in their states and do something with colleagues, they'll do better in next exams.

Conclusion: Even my mother will disown me If I comeback to say I want to work there after all spending. It's not possible.

For the benefit of others
All consular office has a camera pointing Infront of you while you seated there talking. It's like applying for loan with a fintech app and they're analysing your score. At the end it's approved or rejected.

Some people go with less money in their account and visa was given, some had nothing at all. Some even with British passport, Visas got denied. Let me break down from experience.

1. The camera: Once you're seated in front make sure you speak smartly. The camera is busy analysing your face if you're a terrorist, wanted scammer or had any criminal records etc. Remember USA, UK, Canada and all those countries are very strict with giving men visas compared to women. The FBI and immigration upload records to their database and everything can be checked in matter of minutes.

2. Time: There are other people waiting, sometimes they'll not tell you your time is over. Be specific in your answers and make it short. E.g are you married? No. Have you ever been to US? No. Who's sponsoring? Parents. DONT SAY DAD. Don't over stressed. They know, they've open your passport and they've seen no previous visa but they have to asked and see your response. It's logic.

3. Be sensible: Like in your case, you're going as a student, and you were ask, Do you have a relative in US? Your response should've been No. They believe if you answer Yes, then you should provide your relationship with her. They don't want that connection except she was the one who sent you invitation. There are many involved in drugs, terrorist, and gangs... So they wouldn't risk joining you with her unless it's verified. Since you're going as a student, best answer could've been, No. I'm covered by the school. This means accommodation, fees and everything is under the school as you stated in your application. Not to bring in your friend or relatives here.
In my case, I make sure what I submitted in application tally with what I said including the contact persons. If you mention your friend, then that friend must be a student from the same school because before your interview they've place a call or verify his address already waiting to hear your feedback. I won't explain more due to time but student or work visa has limitations and you must be smart.

4. Avoid pride: They don't care if your dad is the senator. Sometimes even when you're traveling with him, they'll interview all of you. It's you not your dad. In this case be specific because you've already submitted application and they've seen and verify what you've submitted. Here you would've answer the question who's sponsoring you as "father" or if both parents you say "parents". Not dad! Next you're ask what does he do. You replied "He's a business man". Here they might want to test you by asking again what business? This is when you say " importer/exporter". That's all. They may go deeper to ask what exactly, then you can now specify if cars, spare parts etc. Not you stating how much he's making and all of that. Where you ask? They know for someone to do importation or export goods he has foreign currencies. Remember they've information about him already from application you submitted earlier.

5. Finally, your contact person in US is very important. Every consular wants to know where you'll stay when you move in there. They don't want people to go add up with existing refugees.
In your case you say school, the university has provided accommodation and you provide correct details with contact persons. In my case I gave the school phone, and my colleague phone. This colleague of mine we had communicated on WhatsApp school group. So if they call him he can say he's a student in the same school and they're all expecting to see you join them that classes had begun. This doesn't matter whether he's or not a student, but the claim should make sense.
