Dear friends, I thank everyone on the platform for your useful contribution - been following the thread silently. Please I need your advice. My wife and I also got the email below but the visa office to submit our passports was not stated in the email. Do we submit to Nigeria or Ghana, or just go to VAC and seek assistance? We submitted our PR application mid-Feb 2018 and got the email, last week in April 2018. Kindly advise. YOUR IMMIGRANT VISA(S) APPEAR(S) READY TO BE ISSUED, IF THERE HAS BEEN NO CHANGE IN YOUR FAMILY CONFIGURATION. IF THERE HAVE BEEN ANY CHANGES, PLEASE CONTACT OUR OFFICE BEFORE PROCEEDING. PASSPORT(S) As of May 1, 2018, all original documents, including passports, must be submitted via the VAC. Please see: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/ and follow the instructions under the “Passport Transmission Services” section. The visa(s) will be valid until the expiry of your medical results or until the expiry of your passports, whichever is earliest. As the validity of your visa(s) has been already established and is limited to a fixed date, it CANNOT be extended under any circumstances. We therefore urge you to read and follow carefully the instructions outlined in this letter without delay. PHOTOGRAPHS You must also provide two passport photos for every person receiving a visa on your application. Photograph specifications can be found at: www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf. Print the specifications and bring them with you to a commercial photographer. A visa will not be issued if your photo does not match the specifications listed in the link above. **** PLEASE NOTE: Failure to provide the required travel document(s) within 15 days from the date of this letter will lead us to conclude that you are no longer interested in immigrating to Canada and your application will be refused based on the information that is available in your file. Once the application is refused, you would be able to reapply, but you would be required to submit a new application and pay a new processing fee. The new application would be assessed according to the Canadian Immigration legislations in force at the time that the new application was filed. Please note that we will strive to meet the foregoing service standards. However, there may be occasions when we cannot issue your visas within these standards. Accordingly, you are advised not to commit to any travel plans, purchase tickets, or take any irrevocable action such as selling property or resign employment until you have received your immigrant visas. Kindly be informed that we will not respond to status update queries once you have submitted your passports. We ask for your patience while we prepare your visas.
6 Likes 1 Share |

Good afternoon everyone, Thank God for good news for those that already have their TRV applications approved and I pray that this week will be full of good news and testimonies for those that are still believing... Just thought to ask if there is anyone heading for Queen's Uni or any school in Kingston, Ontario, this September. Many thanks. 7 Likes |

Travel / Re: He Wants To Sue Uber Nigeria For Damages Worth 300 Million Naira by Smartlawyer: 4:21pm On Jun 21, 2017 |
Interesting story! I believe your friend has a case, so he has to brief a lawyer. Now this is my pro bono advise - First, you have to find out if Uber has a registered office in Nigeria. If it does, then let your lawyer write a formal complaint and demand that the balance be paid back into your friend's account plus damages for the loss suffered due to withholding of the funds. Give them days within which to respond and proceed to file an action once the time lapses without any positive response. The foregoing said, please confirm from your friend that while filing the Uber application form or downloading the App, he has not agreed to terms and conditions which mostly exempt this type of liabilities. My pro bono advise ends here...lol 6 Likes |

Austinpee4: Many thanks Sir. The profile is nothing ooo - its life of a hustler. I give glory to God for the funding because all PhD admissions I got in the last three years were without funding and I had to forgo them. I must commend @Austinpee4 for your tireless efforts at helping others - sometimes I wonder where you get the energy from. God bless you my brother! 7 Likes |

Brothers/Sisters, Perhaps I should step in here. Massive apologies for being the source of the controversy. My response to the advise to apply for EE, was not intended to be critical of, or otherwise despise anyone, who chooses to stay back in Canada. Like others have said, we have different backgrounds, choices, circumstances and priorities. Mine is to come back [with or without PR] and get to the top of my profession - its been my longtime dream and the PR will come in handy where [God forbid] things do not go as planned when I come back to Nigeria. For me, planning to study in Canada in the first place [apart from the fact that Queen's University is one of Canada's key peaks of research excellence] was because of the guaranteed funding, as schools that gave me admissions in the UK and US (last year) did not provide funding and I cant be changing Naira to pounds/dollars to pay for PhD. That's the motivation for going to Canada - getting the PhD almost at no cost. Will I apply for PR when I travel? Yes. Will I come back immediately after the PhD? YES. Those are my choices and I certainly respect yours! Lets keep the hope alive for our days of rejoicing are almost near! 4 Likes |
