Interesting that Abati omitted Rotus from his closing vote of thanks but Rotus was on the same show and was the first to even speak - even though he was laughing the whole time. My heartfelt appreciation goes to my diligent team — Rufai Oseni, Vimbai, and our wider crew —for standing tall with professionalism and poise. And to my ever-supportive wife, Kikelomo Atanda-Owo Abati, your strength remains my anchor. Interesting times! |

Ikaeniyan0: Even in America, he will be sentenced to death. It's left for the state government to rightfully pardon him Some states in a America have what is called a castle doctrine, while some do not, which is what you may be referring to. However, if you know the full facts of the case, you will agree that he would certainly not be sentenced to death anywhere. That ruling is a horrible aberration of justice that flies in the face of every known principle of law concerning self defense. The attacker lost the knife but still picked a stick to continue the fight. I have read all the judgements from high court to Supreme Court. Total nonsense. |

ucheheart: Equitorial guinea , sierra leone, cuba and some other countries on that list are not muslim countries. So it's not about religion. You are looking at two different lists. The first list of countries are those with an outright ban. They are all Muslim. The second is a list of countries with partial restrictions. These are a mix but note that Sierra Leone is majority Muslim. These are countries whose citizens typically abuse visitor visas. |

Politics › Re: NNPC, Independent Marketers Slash Petrol Prices Below Dangote Rate by SmartyPants(m): 1:53pm On Jun 05, 2025 |
seunowa: Do you know the number of participants in oil industry? Importations by marketers will continue until other refiners are able to come on board. Why is dangote shouting up and down about the marketers if it possible to collude with them? When other refiners come onboard, then, competition becomes stiffer. And competition is good for Nigerians Doesn't matter if there are 1 million participants when they are all bundled under the banner of IPMAN. Dangote doesn't want to collude with them because he'd rather kill them off and become the super monopoly. That's what this battle is about. As for your last sentence, we agree on that. |
Politics › Re: NNPC, Independent Marketers Slash Petrol Prices Below Dangote Rate by SmartyPants(m): 12:24pm On Jun 05, 2025 |
seunowa: What will you call it if it is not obvious market reality in Nigeria oil and gas sector? Government policy such as PIA instigates competition, efficiency and transparency have helped to enhanced the functionality of the market forces. Yes... But then that makes it clear that it takes two to tango. Dangote and the marketers could easily also just collude and have a nice time together at our expense. Is the market not big enough? |
Politics › Re: NNPC, Independent Marketers Slash Petrol Prices Below Dangote Rate by SmartyPants(m): 11:51am On Jun 05, 2025 |
seunowa: Omo ...there must be an action for reaction to take place. What dictate the reactions of the marketers and dangote are majorly market realities. Competition (excess supply) is also a market reality obviously. |
Politics › Re: NNPC, Independent Marketers Slash Petrol Prices Below Dangote Rate by SmartyPants(m): 11:13am On Jun 05, 2025 |
seunowa: Oil marketers and Dangote's pricing decisions are driven by market realities such as global crude oil prices, forex rates, supply and demand naira for crude-oil policy of the government as well as deregulation of the oil and gas sector. These are the market for forces that have helped to put the excesses of the market stakeholders( marketers and dangote) in check. Deregulation of the oil sector ensure that pricing is no longer subject to government regulations but instead has helped to enhance market forces functionality through increasing competition, availability of the product, promoting efficiency and hence potentially reducing fuel prices. Oil marketers and Dangote are not a factor in the supply and demand equation. Stop it. |

Market forces are doing wonderful work here, putting everyone on their toes. What are you saying... How do you separate Dangote and the marketers from market forces? Are you sure you yourself understand what you wrote up there? |

Of course it is not possible to love all children equally. And every parent knows this, however there is a certain baseline of love that should be equal. Every parent should be willing to put their life on the line for each of their children. |

Antoeni: Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu became President merely seven months after Burkina Faso’s Ibrahim Troare seized power. Both have spent 2 years in office.
In these periods, Troare has built 3 processing plants (Tomato, Cotton, Cashew Apple), Gold Refinery, and Veterinary Manufacturing unit. He didn’t hold ceremony for the commission of any of them.
Tinubu, on the other hand, has completed and is celebrating 30km out of 700km coastal Highway.
This isn’t fairytale. It is reality. Help us with links from credible media sites (even Burkina Faso state media) on these events. I'm not saying you're lying oh, but maybe if you share the links we can understand if you are comparing cottage industries (with a touch of fiction), with tangible development. |

Sometimes people make some of us look like we Ike Tinubu. I don't know him from anywhere. I'm not Yoruba and if anything I'm much closer to the south east in my ancestry. But I'm objective and I put Nigeria first in all things. So by attacking Tinubu unnecessarily, you make defenders out of those of us that should be neutral.
This piece above hits the nail on the head. Nigeria will be a much better country for the next ruler. I pray the person is sensible. |
