Foreign Affairs › Re: Israel Was Hit Really Hard Says Trump by SmartyPants(m): 3:04pm On Jun 25, 2025
motayoayinde:
When I saw this on telegram, i had to quickly fact-check to be sure.

Waiting for Israel to lift embargo on media coverage (isn't that even laughable in the first place?), the world will see the unprecedented level of damage done by Iranian missiles.

And this Trump confession should put paid to the worthless discussions over who won.
I've generally avoided weighing in on the damage measurement contest because ultimately most people who comment on this issue come of across as absolute buffoons. But I'll indulge today, simply to tell you:

What Iran did cannot be called war. Iran deliberately targeted civilian lives and infrastructure. So, what you are celebrating is the death of humans. Granted, some religions permit or even promote the killing of civilians (and you sound like an adherent of the famous one), so you may not see that as an issue. But the truth is that Israel could have caused an unprecedented humanitarian crisis if they adopted the same tactic of indiscriminate bombing of civilians. So there was no war as such. What we had here was a series of strikes by the Israelis, and coordinated acts of terrorism in response by the Iranians.

Secondly, even as such, it is obvious that the damage to Iran is far greater. Nearly an entire brigade of their so-called revolutionary guards was taken out. Do you understand what this means?

Iran's nuclear program is toast. No doubt, they will try to revive it at some future point, but that will be an exercise in utter futility, as whenever the powers that be are ready, they will simply bomb them to smithereens all over again.

Iran's biggest problem now is that all their rivals have tested them and proven that they can be beaten easily. Worse, the main deterrent, being the idea that Russia and other recalcitrant nations would join in any hostilities, has also been proven to be false.

Finally, if Israel had lost, do you think Trump would have announced that? He's merely attempting to massage Iran's battered ego in a way that gives the US an escape from conflict.

In other words, since you lost the real war (rather obvious), then we'll just pretend you won the media war so that everybody can rest.

Dear men, get your life together. You owe it to yourselves. You love women wholeheartedly, they love you conditionally. It’s no fault of theirs; it’s in their nature.

Get your life together. Find a woman who genuinely cares for you and ceaselessly provide for her.
One of your statements is false because they contradict. Which means you are not sure what you are saying. So why should anyone listen to you?

The problem we have as humans is lack of self awareness. We want the best without asking if we are the best for that other person.

Choose a person whose value proposition matches yours. That's all.

They re cordial and friendly while hostile to the natives, speaking from experience,
I don't understand... I just agreed with you so why are you asking such questions? What I said is, doesn't this same principle apply to every other job? Won't a doctor from the local area treat his people better? Same for a banker, engineer, lawyer or government worker.

He has a raised a valid point, some of you are already saying its a tribal rant. You dont send a stranger from another land to secure a place he knows nothing of, shares no culture with. You only do that because you want to take over the place.

Enugu matters has gone from bad to worse, this Akin guy would have been better deployed to his region he will do better there.

You will only protect something that you have a stake in.
Doesn't that apply to every job? Won't someone from the local area always be somewhat better positioned to serve their own people??

Direct your query to the person that appointed him. Is that not common sense?

Though if they ask your people to go back home to occupy jobs in their own states you will cry bitterly against tribalism.

Life is funny like that my brother.

Hehehe.

They will say this doesn't matter.

And no marginalisation .

The people of North Central are even more marginalized in my opinion. Power always comes to the North, but they are always ignored.
The people of North Central are only good for bringing massive vote's,but not good for rulling the country. I have had this theory often, that for one to win the president, the person must will North Central, yet they are always been relegated when it time to chose the president or vice.

As for South East, the hate is real. They believe they are too smart to be given the president. You want one Nigeria, but you don't want a section of Nigeria to be the president, what an irony.

We all know the truth, but we will all pretend that it's not the truth. No region has monopoly of rulling. Nigeria should give sense of belonging to every region and you will see peace and progress.
Usual emotional rants. No region has the monopoly of rulership and it has indeed gone round 4 regions out of 6 in 25 years. Those who haven't gotten it should look inwards instead of crying and turning to emotional blackmail. Haven't you noticed that doesn't work?

Why are you asking me such questions? I too asked a question, which means I don't have answers. So help me, what was the going rate at the time??

Very funny how some of you talk. The boy was probably just hustling here and there to be able to afford little things for himself in a place where ice cream was not an obtainable reality, and you are asking what parent would accept that.

Seems you have a skewed idea of reality. Don't you see kids on the road doing ridiculous things like washing windscreens for 50 naira or even nothing at all??

When the South West is said to generate more VAT than other regions what does it even mean? Without making sales in other regions can companies in the south west generate the same level of VAT if their products and services are consumed only within the South West? Obviously not.

If VAT is listed according to sales made and generated in each state a clearer picture emerges.
Don't deceive yourself. These figures match IGR figures for the same regions, which is another way to evaluate production/consumption. It is obvious that the SW is Nigeria's consumption hub.

So are you saying there's no peace in Iran right now? Try and emancipate yourself from mental slavery...

The same card was played with Saddam Husseini of Iraq, has Iraq been peaceful since Saddam was killed? If you're still a baby during Saddam era are you also a kid in 2011 when Ghaddaffi was killed with same excuse?

Ever since the fall of Ghadaffi Nigeria and other countries in Sahel region have never sleep with our two eyes closed.

Or you think whatever that happens there won't reach here? You go learn with time.
Stop talking nonsense. Ghaddafi was our African neighbor and it's obvious the strategic placement of Libya as a conduit from the middle east to sub saharan Africa, which is also why Libya is a popular route for human traffickers and irregular migrants. That cannot be compared to Iran in any way, of which we will be far better off without this extremist regime which directly and indirectly finances many of the terror groups that are becoming a problem for us.

The way Israel is dealing with Iran, one would honestly question if this is the same Iran we've always been told is a major military power.

Interestingly, most Islamic countries are staying out of the conflict not necessarily because they want to, but because they understand that getting involved could invite the same kind of overwhelming response from Israel. They know Israel isn't to be underestimated.
That's not quite true. The most powerful Islamic countries are US allies. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt and even to some extent, Turkey, etc are aligned with the US and Israel. You must also note that they have their own tensions as these are majority Sunni Moslems and Iran is majority Shia. They are staying out of it because their interests align. Simple.

Ike Ibeabuchi

Kamaru Usman

It's now more or less the default nickname for the greatest Nigerian fighter of a particular generation.
