Crime › Re: My Cousin Was Just Raped And I Don't Know What To Do. by SmartyPants(m): 11:43am On Jul 08, 2025
Casham:
My cousin just told me last night that she just got raped on Sunday afternoon/evening (6th July, 2025).

I stay with them for now. She's 18, the first of two daughters and was still virgin (as far as I know). Her only [older] brother is in school.

She's been acting funny since on Sunday evening. She couldn't hold it in anymore and, since there is no one else she could actually confide in, she confided in me. Now she's begging me not to tell anyone and not to cause trouble. She only wants me to help her get a drug (if any) that will prevent pregnancy.

She told me about the man coming to see her in her mother's restaurant and said she was going to talk to the man about getting me a job, but when she went into his car, he forced himself on her.

Honestly I am angry right now! I am angry at three things:

First, I am angry at my family. I have a family where the children are afraid to open up, because if you do, you will be blamed and castigated upon. I understand her fear and apprehension about letting other people know, but I just can't let this go.

Secondly, I am angry at our society. How can a man confidently feels he can force himself on a lady and get away with it? What kind of society do we have?

Thirdly, I am angry at myself. I am angry because I feel helpless. I can't let this thing go. I have to deal with this man, but I don't know how to do it without putting my cousin in a difficult position. I have tried to let her know that it is not her fault and that the man needs to pay for this, but she's been begging me to just let it go. She only confided in me because she's really scared of getting pregnant.

According to her though, there was never any real penetration, but the man (who is a high ranking government official) actually "released" ON her, not IN her. (Does that even make sense?)
How can I handle this issue right now? For me, I am planning to go all out and let hell break loose and let the heavens fall if they have to.
Whatever you do, it sounds like that man had raw sex with her, so get her to a hospital NOW. She needs to take certain emergency treatments to prevent potential HIV and other STD transmission. The medical report is also essential in case you report the case to the police. Time is of the essence as some of the medication she needs will not work after some days have passed, so do it NOW!

Stop confusing yourself..

I am not making your point,,,

Even your point is out of point..

You were insinuating that El Rufai is not popular outside Kaduna and I was just trying to tell you it's not a big deal because 90 percent of politicians are not so popular outside of their home states.
So I categorically told you only Atiku and Buhari form the North have any reasonable strengths outside their home states.

That's said;;;

Atiku will not do better than Obi for the ticket.

Atiku will get close to zero vote in the South and Middle belts.

Obi will do very well in the South and Middle.

If he chooses a popular northern candidate even if that Northerner were to be an extremist, the north would still embrace them as long as he vows to do one term.
Lol it's either you forget the things you say immediately they leave your mouth or you don't even know what you're saying at all.

Sir, you claimed El Rufai is beloved in the "core North", and I set about showing you that El Rufai has no political relevance anywhere in the north.

The key states in the NW are Kano, Kaduna, and Katsina.

- Half of Kaduna has never been for El Rufai. Uba Sanni has collected the other half, so forget about Kaduna totally.
- Kano is under the shared grip of Ganduje and Kwanwaso, both of whom are for Tinubu.
- Katsina is under Buhari.

So what is El Rufai's electoral value, even as you have admitted that only Atiku can galvanize the entire North?

The funniest part of all these your funny postulation is that when you look t the evidence it is clear that Atikua has never won the north in all his decades of trying. Not even when he was the only northern candidate in 2023 could he win convincingly across the north.

This is a coalition of losers but the best of the losers are Atiku and Obi in that particular order. No need to keep draggin with you though, it was the same way I said it then that Tinubu would win the APC primaries and of course, so many of your type argued blindly!

You people get so myopic in your analysis.

"El Rufai is a nobody outside Kaduna"

What sort of comment is this?

Apart from Atiku and Buhari, name any other northern politician who is anything serious outside his home state.
None!

Outside Kano Kwankwoso and Gandnuje are nothing serious, just pockets of people around Jigawa and Bauchi running around calling themselves Kwankwasia movement.

Only Atiku and Buhari can hold down the entire North..

Was Shetima anything outside Borno before Tinubu picked him? Shetima was even infamous around the middle belt for being a boko haram apologist.

You're the one guilty of putting 1+1 to be 2 not me.

I repeat as long as Obi is in the ticket as Candidate, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Edo, Delta, Taraba, Kaduna, will rush him irrespective of whom he assigns as running mate.
Funnily you are making my point and you think you are quarreling with me grin

The bolded is exactly why Atiku must be on the ticket and if he must be on the ticket he must be the Presidential candidate. Stop day dreaming.

Imagine day dreaming about Kaduna that Obi could not even win Datti's ward, it's now when El Rufai is on the ticket you think they would rush him?

Day dreams!

As long as Obi is the Presidential candidate, the middle belt will overlook whatever grouse they have with El Rufai..

Don't forget it's the VP ticket..
The one they call spare tyre!

The one that even Wike and Seyi Tinubu are more visible than, in this administration.

Oohh all of a sudden the VP seat matters so much??

The VP is almost inconsequential..

The middle belt love Obi,, the core North love El Rufai..

Obi/El Rufai will anahilate Tinubu in a free and fair election.
You talk as if it's 1 + 1=2. Laughable

El Rufai is a hated figure in the middle belt... By joining hands with him Peter Obi has already lost so many supporters. You the fanatical ones are slow to understand because you think everyone reasons just like you do. You are so wrong!

Secondly, El Rufai is a nobody outside Kaduna, of which the current governor has already rendered him obsolete. Kano is Ganduje + Kwankwaso = Tinubu. Just forget about the NW totally.

I wish ADC could make the mistake of putting up Obi with El Rufai so we can test this but of course they won't

Why did they suspend it in the first place? Its simple
The difference between bank rate was very large. Banks were selling 460 per dollar black market was like 550 or so.
But today dollar subsidy is gone, there will little or no difference between bank rate and black market

In summary it's still the same as buying dollar in black market, paying into your dollar account and spending with your dollar card

Funny enough you will see people who know nothing coming to sing apc praises because banks are now selling at black market rate
Why so disingenuous? You literally just explained how there is no such thing as black market again, and I know you understand how much this so-called black market was killing our economy. How do you still manage to find something to gripe about??

Incredible.

Yes El Rufai..

The Northern almajiris love people like El Rufai..

If Shetima the alleged boko haram sponsor could be picked by Tinubu, then why not a performer like El Rufai?

Zulum is another option..

He and Shetima will soon leave APC😁
Interesting. Having El Rufai as vice is the quickest way to failure. Because you will lose the middle belt and you will still not gain the north west that is El Rufai's only political relevance.

In any case, I think it's obvious the ticket is for Atiku and Obi as vice. Probably, El Rufai and Amaechi believe they will be the next to collect power after those ones.

Such a funny bunch of misfits.

Kobojunkie:
Start by being less mistaken about events and decisions you make, and become more intentional for one. By the way, I have been drinking green tea every day — at least 5 large cups a day — for many years now(I drink at least a gallon of either black tea or green tea a day), and I know for certain that green tea does none of what you claim. However, your write-up insisting that everything was mistakenly done by you leads me to believe this is more a mental issue than a physical one. This is because a lot of your symptoms can be traced back to mental illnesses. 😏

I would suggest you go see your doctor immediately and be open to seeing a professional mental health therapist at the same time. undecided
I drink copious amount of green tea too and have experienced none of what he claims, however you must always bear in mind that everyone is different and it is possible that some of what he experienced is true.

Some of it though, I will agree, seems to be the product of a hyperactive imagination that has set about the task of amusing the world this morning.

Boring for me but, like green tea, I suspect it might have a different effect on others.

leave that for South Africa Egypt Rwanda Kenya and others to worry about focus on Nigeria
If you are thinking straight you should see that the point is that other countries in the class of Nigeria were not invited, which should then show that the exclusion is not based on clout but other issues.

If you knew geography you would also realize that these countries are all in extremely close proximity to each other, which suggest the existence of a geopolitical unifying factor behind their invitation.

But carry on.

IyaTola:
Imagine this being a state police, the abuse of human would be unimaginable

Challenges to Consider:

While the benefits are substantial, some concerns include:

Potential for abuse by state governors (e.g., using police against political opponents).

Risk of fragmentation and uneven standards across states.

Funding issues—not all states may have the resources to maintain a professional police force.

The creation of state police in Nigeria could significantly improve security, local governance, and public trust in law enforcement. However, to succeed, it must be implemented with strong legal frameworks, oversight mechanisms, and safeguards against political misuse.
Valid points. Regional policing would be better.
